Apart from being a powerful prayer to protect oneself from the devil's interference, the verse of the chair also has other benefits. The verse occupies a great and high position, this is because the reading of the verse of the chair contains noble remembrance and knowledge of the oneness of Allah and His attributes.

Before discussing further the virtues and benefits of reading the verse of the chair, it helps us to know the sound of the verse itself.

اَللّٰهُ لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَۚ اَلْحَيُّ الْقَيُّوْمُ ەۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهٗ سِنَةٌ وَّلَا نَوْمٌۗ لَهٗ مَا فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَمَا فِى الْاَرْضِۗ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِيْ يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهٗٓ اِلَّا بِاِذْنِهٖۗ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ اَيْدِيْهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْۚ وَلَا يُحِيْطُوْنَ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهٖٓ اِلَّا بِمَا شَاۤءَۚ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَۚ وَلَا يَـُٔوْدُهٗ حِفْظُهُمَاۚ وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيْمُ

Meaning: Allah, there is no god but He Who is eternally alive and constantly takes care of (His creatures), does not sleep, and does not sleep. To Him belongs what is in the heavens and in the earth. No one can intercede with Allah except with His permission. Allah knows all that is before them and behind them, and they know nothing of Allah's knowledge except what He wills. Allah's seat covers the heavens and the earth. And Allah does not find it difficult to maintain them, and Allah is Most High, Most Great.

The Benefits of Reading Ayat Kursi
According to KH. Musyaffa' Ali in the book Light Practices Missed by Heaven by Ahmad Zacky El-Syafa, the verse of the chair has several benefits, including:

1. Ayat Kursi has the power to change bad behavior. Read the verse of the chair 17 times, 50 times or 170 times a day, surely we can change our bad behavior.

2. Reading the verse of the chair can protect one's house as well as the neighbor's house. Ali bin Abu Talib once heard the Messenger of Allah say, "Whoever reads the verse of the chair while going to sleep, Allah will secure his house, his neighbor's house, and the closest houses around him." (HR. Al-Baihaqi)

3. The verse of the chair can increase blessings and sustenance if you read it diligently.

The Importance of Reading Ayat Kursi
Quoting from the book Fadhilah and Tafsir Ayat Kursi compiled by Dr. Fadhl Divine, there are 5 virtues of the verse of the chair, namely:

1. The greatest verse in the Qur'an. As narrated by Muslim from Ubay bin Ka'b, he said, "The Messenger of Allah asked him, "O Abul Mundzir (Ubay bin Ka'b), do you know which verse from Allah's book is the greatest in your opinion?"

He replied, "Allahu la ilaha illa huwal-hayyul-qayyum." It means the verse of the chair. In addition, Shaykhul-Islam Ibn Taimiyah also said that the position of the verse of the chair is the greatest in the Qur'an.

2. In the verse of the chair, there is Asmaul Husna. The great names of Allah are mentioned in various verses of the Qur'an, one of which is in the verse of the Chair.

Al-Imam Ahmad narrated from Asma' bint Yazid, the Messenger of Allah said:

"In these two verses, 'Allahu la ilaha illa huwal hayyul-qayyum', and 'Alif lam mim. Allahu la ilaha illa huwal-hayyul-qayyum', there is the great name of Allah."

That is, the first is the verse of the chair and the second is a snippet of the verse from Surah Ali Imran.

3. Reading the verse of the chair will protect us from Satan's temptations. People who read the verse of the Chair is given protection by Allah SWT so that the devil does not approach him in the morning, especially when the verse is read at night before going to bed.

4. Reading the verse of the chair after the obligatory prayer will be protected until the next prayer. At-Thabrani narrated from Al-Hasan bin Ali, the Messenger of Allah said:

"Whoever reads the verse of the chair after the obligatory prayer, then he is in the protection of Allah until the next prayer again."

5. There is no barrier between the person who reads the verse of the chair after the obligatory prayers and heaven, except death. Thus, reading the verse of the chair after the obligatory prayer will get heaven.

An-Nasa'i, Ibn Hibban and At-Thabrani narrated from Abu Umamah, Rasulullah SAW said:

"Whoever reads the verse of the Chair after every obligatory prayer, nothing will prevent him from entering Paradise except death."

This poem is also often sung by the students after attending market studies during Ramadan. Or sometimes also sung in certain events.

The author himself often finds students in several Islamic boarding schools in ACEH (Nangro Aceh Darussalam) — Kuningan chanting this poem, especially after reading the book during the holy month of Ramadan.

Syair Lam Yahtalim or also called Al Syamail Al Muhammadiyah al Syarifah actually contains verses that explain the privileges of the Prophet. Although it is not clear who wrote this poem for the first time, Lam Yahtalim’s poem can be found in the book Maraqi Al Ubudiyah by Sheikh Nawawi Al Bantani.

The following is the sound and meaning of Lam Yahtalim’s poem which contains the features of the Prophet.

لَمْ لِمْ لَقًا ا # ا ائَبَ لاً الزَّمَنِ

The Prophet never dreamed of having sex either before becoming a prophet or after. He also never yawned all the time.

الدَّوَابُ لَمْ ا # ابَةٌ ا الْحَسَنِ

Not a single animal escaped (wild) from him. There was never a fly perched on his noble body

لْـفِهِ امٍ # لَا لٍ لَنِ

He can know something that is behind him, as he sees something that is in front of him. The traces of his urine have never been seen on the surface of the earth

لْبُهُ لَمْ الْعَيْنُ # لَايَرٰى لَّهُ الشَّمْسِ

His heart never sleeps, even though his eyes are sleepy. His shadow can never be seen by intelligent people when he is exposed to sunlight.

اهُ لَـتَا ا ا لَسُوْا # الْوِلَادَةِ يَا ا

His two shoulders always seemed to be higher than the shoulders of those who sat with him. Tell me about his character that he has been circumcised since he was born

الْخَصَائِصَ احْفَظْهَا ا # شَرِّ ارٍ اقٍ

These are all his privileges, you should memorize the temple, surely you will get protection from the dangers of fire, theft and calamity.
