The other day, I went on my first pilgrimage to anime locations as part of my university graduation program! I am writing this blog as a pilgrimage journal of my actual pilgrimage to anime locations.

I visited Kitano Ijinkan-Gai in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture.

This place is sacred place for two animes of the "Fate" series, "Fate/Stay  Night [Unlimited Blade Works(UBW）" and "Fate/Zero, which have gained popularity through various media such as games, anime, and comics.

First, I visited the Weathercock House. Many people may think of this place when they think of Kitano Ijinkan. It was built around 1909 as the residence of Mr. Gottfried Thomas, a German trader. In 1976, it was designated as a National Important Cultural Property. On the day of the visit, there were many students taking group photos and ordinary people taking photos and drawing pictures. This house is the model for the exterior of the heroine Rin Tohsaka's house, known as "Tohsaka Residence" in "UBW".

The house is a high level of reproduction compared to scenes in the anime, with some differences but still retaining its characteristic features.

Also, since the location of the pavilion is up the hill from Sannomiya Station, nature becomes more visible. The location in the anime also has a lot of nature around it, so I felt the anime's attention to detail in this respect as well.

These photos were taken inside the Weathercock House. The windows, railings, and other parts of the building were used as backgrounds for the animation, so that even when I was taking the pictures, I felt as if the characters were right there.

Even the wooden box behind Rin in her childhood was captured as a model.

Next, I visited Uroko House located further up the mountain from the Weathercock House.

Of course, Uroko House is also a traditional building, a national tangible cultural property, and one of the 100 best Hyogo residences.

In "UBW," the building was the model for the house where the other heroine, Sakura Matou, and her brother-in-law, Shinji Matou, live. The interior is also modeled after the background in the anime, but this one is used for Rin Tohsaka's house.

Following the sign, we walked up a slightly steep slope, which was hard on my sore muscles. The road was also surrounded by trees, so I aimed at the pavilion, feeling the gloomy atmosphere of Matou.

Even though it is a magnificent building in normal view, I strolled through the pavilion with a bit of wariness, thinking that there might be something there because of the images of the cartoon in my mind.

The inside of the house is beautifully arranged like photos.

Furthermore, the garden house in the garden was decorated with posters and famous scenes from "Fate/Stay Night Heaven's Feel the Movie". Kobe City had previously held a collaboration campaign with the movie when it was released, and I was somewhat pleased to see that even after it was over, they still kept it like this, showing that they cherish the connection with the work.

The above two buildings were the main location, but there are other sites for "Fate" as well.

This slope is also a place that appears in the anime, but the difference from the previous two is that this is a place that appears as a background. Even though I relied on the Internet to find the fence on the left and the stone piles, I couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment when I found this place. It looked like just a slope, but it was also a place where I could hear an important conversation in the work, so as a fan, my excitement level increased.

This is the end of my walk in Kitano Ijinkan-Gai, though I have visited several spots.

I moved on to the Kobe Bridge area.

This Bridge is a red arched bridge connecting Kobe and Port Island.

In the area around the bridge alone, I was able to find sacred places from various angles and take pictures of them. Unlike the Kitano Ijinkan-gai, there were few people and I thought it was a bit lonely, but I kept the thought in my mind that I could take pictures without worrying about anything and took many pictures while exploring the position and angle of view of the bridge and buildings.

This is my first time writing a blog, so I hope it gives you an idea of how much fun it is to make a pilgrimage to a anime location!

From the outside, it might look a little strange that I was taking pictures while holding up a picture, but I was enjoying myself tremendously. It was strange that the higher the quality of the reproduction of even a mere handrail or steel frame, the more excited I became.

If you are interested in making a pilgrimage to a holy place, please visit the holy place of your favorite work. I brought  photos and took pictures , but I think everyone has their own way of enjoying it, so whether it's immersing yourself in a scene from the work or getting into the world view by cosplaying, I think you'll have a different kind of fun.

先日大学の卒業プログラムとしてアニメの聖地巡礼に初めて行ってまいりました！このブログは僕が実際に行った聖地巡礼の巡礼記として書いています。

僕が今回訪れたのは兵庫県は神戸市、北野異人館街です。

さてこちらの北野異人館街、何の作品の聖地かというと、ゲーム、アニメ、漫画など様々な媒体で人気の「Fate」シリーズのTVアニメ「Fate/Stay Night : Unlimited Blade Works」（以下：UBW)と「Fate/Zero」。こちらの二つの作品の聖地となっています。

まずは風見鶏の館から訪れました。北野異人館といえばこちらが浮かぶ人も多いのではないでしょうか？建設されたのは明治42年ごろドイツ人の貿易商ゴットフリート・トーマス氏の邸宅とされていました。昭和51年には国指定重要文化財に指定されました。当日は学生さん達が集合写真を撮っていたり、一般の人達も写真を撮ったり、絵を描いていたりとたくさんの人が訪れていました。そしてこの館は「UBW」において、ヒロインである遠坂凛の自宅、通称「遠坂邸」の外観のモデルとなっているのです。

このように多少の差異はあれど特徴的な部分が残っているので、アニメのシーンと比べてみても再現度の高さが伺えます。

また館の場所が三宮駅から坂道を登った場所にあるので、自然が目につくようになります。アニメ内のロケーションでも周りに自然が多い立地なので、そういった点にもアニメのこだわりを感じました。

こちらの写真は風見鶏の館内で撮影しました。窓や手すりなどもほぼ現物に近いままアニメの背景として使われているので、写真を撮っているときですら、キャラクターたちがその場にいるんじゃないかと思えてきました。

この幼少期の凛の後ろにある木の箱ですら、しっかりモデルとして捉えられてるのも、「そこまで再現するか」と心の中でツッコミたくなるくらい本人は楽しんでます。

続きましては風見鶏の館からさらに上へ登った場所にある「うろこの家」を訪れました。

もちろんうろこの家も伝統ある建築物で国の有形文化財や兵庫住宅百選の一つでもあります。

「Fate/Stay Night」ではもう一人のヒロイン間桐桜とその義兄である間桐慎二が暮らす間桐邸のモデルとなった建物です。内装もアニメ内で登場する背景のモデルとされているのですがこちらは遠坂凛の家の方に採用されています。

案内板についていきながら少し急な坂道を歩いたので、筋肉痛を抱えながらの足には応えました。道中も木に囲まれていたので、間桐の陰湿な雰囲気を感じながら、館を目指しました。

普通に見れば立派な建物なのに、アニメのイメージが頭に浮かんで何かあるんじゃないかと、少し警戒心を持って館内を散策しました。

さらに庭にあるガーデンハウスには「劇場版 Fate/Stay Night Heaven's Feel」のポスターや名シーンなどが貼られていました。以前にも映画が公開されたときに作品とコラボキャンペーンをしていたのですが、それが終わった後でもこうして残してくれていると、作品との繋がりを大事にしてくれているんだなとなんだか嬉しくなりました。

建物に関しては以上の二つが主な聖地だったのですがここ以外にも「Fate」の聖地があるのです。

こちらの坂も作品内に登場する場所なのですが、先の二つと違うのはここは背景として登場した場所なんです。左の柵や石積みになっているところなどネットを頼りにしたとはいえ、この場所を見つけた時に達成感を感じずにはいられませんでした。一見ただの坂に見えて作品内では重要な会話を聞くことができる場所でもあったのでファンとしては興奮度が高まりました。

ここまで複数のスポットを巡りましたが、北野異人館街での散策は以上となります。

続きましては少し移動して神戸大橋周辺に移っていきます。

神戸大橋は神戸とポートアイランドを繋ぐ赤いアーチ型が特徴の橋です。

橋の周辺だけでも様々な角度から聖地を見つけては写真を撮りに撮らせていただきました。北野異人館街と違い人も少なくちょっと寂しいと思ったのですが、逆に考えれば何も気にせず写真を撮れるぞという想いは胸にしまっておいて、橋や建物との位置や画角を探りながら何枚も撮りました。

ブログを書いてみるのは初めてのことなので、聖地巡礼の楽しさが伝わってもらえれば本望です！

傍から見れば、写真を掲げながら写真を撮っている少しおかしな光景に見えるかもしれませんが、本人は物凄く楽しんでいます。ただの手すりや鉄骨ですら再現されているクオリティが高ければ高いほどテンションが上がってしまうのが不思議でした。

もし聖地巡礼してみたいという人がいるのでしたら是非とも好きな作品の聖地を訪ねてみてください。僕は写真を持っていきましたが、楽しみ方は人それぞれだと思うので、作品内の場面を思い浮かべて浸ってみるのも、コスプレなどをして世界観に入り込むのも、また違った楽しみがあるのではないでしょうか？
