Past champion Dale Jarrett joined father Ned in the hall and master mechanic Maurice "Chief" Petty became the fourth member of one of NASCAR'smost royal families to be selected for enshrinement.

Maurice joins older brother, "King" Richard Petty; their father, championship driver Lee Petty; and cousin Dale Inman, Richard's longtime crew chief in the hall.

Tim Flock, a two-time premier series champion, also was selected along with Jack Ingram, who drove to success on what became NASCAR's Nationwide Series; and Fireball Roberts, the flashy showman from the 1950s who raced to 33 victories before his death in 1964.

The group will be inducted into the hall during ceremonies here next January.

Ned Jarrett jumped out of his seat and hugged Dale when his name was announced.

Dale Jarrett said he was dressed for his son's graduation party and expected to bolt out once the announcements were made. He was humbled to join the hall.

"I've always felt like it was an honor and a privilege to drive for NASCAR, and this sport has been such a huge part of the Jarrett life," Dale said. "Now to be part of something that my father is a part of, it just means the world to me."

Dale, the 1999 Sprint Cup champion, was a three-time winner of the Daytona 500 and is 21st on the career list with 32 victories. He and Ned become the third father-son combo in the hall, following Bill France Sr. and Bill France Jr. and Lee and Richard Petty.

Ned was part of the 54-person voting panel and told the group earlier Wednesday that his son's talents should be why he's elected and not because of his father's backing. Brian France, NASCAR chairman and CEO, followed that Dale Jarrett's on-track success made him worthy of inclusion.

Former NFL coach and NASCAR team owner Joe Gibbs congratulated Jarrett, who brought JGR its first-ever Sprint Cup victory which came in the 1993 Daytona 500 still the only time a Gibbs driver has won Sprint Cup's season-opening event.

Jarrett's "contributions to the sport are well documented and I can tell you his contributions to Joe Gibbs Racing really helped us to establish ourselves in the sport," Gibbs said in a statement. "The whole Gibbs family, J.D., Coy, and Pat really appreciated Dale taking a chance on us."

Maurice Petty was the chief engine builder at Petty Enterprises and supplied the horsepower that led to most of his brother's record 200 NASCAR wins and seven series championships.

He also made the Petty family four-for-five in NASCAR Hall of Fame votes. Richard was part of the inaugural class enshrined in 2010, Lee went in the following year and Inman in 2012.

"It makes me happy because that means all of us are in. So I'm tickled to death with it," Maurice said.

Richard Petty said his younger brother earned his own way into the hall. "He won just as many races as anyone and probably more. He did it in an era where he did all the innovation himself," Richard said. "He didn't have a computer or anything else. He just did everything himself. It's good to see him join Dale and myself."

Flock is 18th on NASCAR's career victory list with 39. He won series titles in 1952 and 1955. Flock put on a dominant display on the way to his second championship, winning 18 of 39 races that season. Flock died in 1998.

Flock received 76 percent of the vote, the highest total of this year's class.

Ingram is considered one of the career greats on what's become the Nationwide Series. He won three straight series titles from 1972-74 when it was called the Late Model Sportsman Division. When the circuit became the NASCAR Busch Series in 1982, Ingram won the first race and series championship.

Ingram added another Busch Series crown in 1985.

Roberts was nearly elected last season, losing out on a second, tiebreaking ballot to Baker. His nickname came from his pitching arm, but is considered one of the first fan favorites because of his go-for-broke style.

The five selected came from a group of 25 nominees. The Hall of Fame said the next three highest vote getters were small-track champion Jerry Cook; Joe Weatherly, who won two premier series championships in the early 1960s; and Wendell Scott, the first African-American driver to win on NASCAR's top series.

"All of the nominees will, in my view, one day be in the Hall of Fame," Brian France said before announcing the five selections.

Richard Petty said the entire group of honorees are worthy members of the hall.

"When you look up there at all of the wins these guys have had, the championships they've had together and the influence they've had on NASCAR over the period of years, from Tim Flock up to Dale Jarrett and everything in between, is when NASCAR grew," Richard Petty said.

Republican Sen. Mark Kirk of Illinois sought assurances from Holder that the National Security Agency and the FBI dragnet of phone records did not include members of Congress or the Supreme Court. "When government bureaucrats are sloppy, they're usually really sloppy," he said.

Holder, called to testify on the Justice Department's fiscal 2014 budget before the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies, declined to answer, saying it was an "inappropriate setting."

"There's been no intention to do anything of that nature, that is to spy on members of Congress, on members of the Supreme Court," Holder said.

Holder said members of Congress had been briefed on the issue, but Committee Chairwoman Barbara Mikulski, D-Md., pointed out that "fully briefed" often means that only a handful of lawmakers have been briefed, adding that the term is something that "drives us up a wall."

Mikulski, Holder, and subcommittee ranking member Richard Shelby, R-Ala., agreed to hold a classified briefing to address questions about the NSA's records seizure.

Earlier Thursday, Senate Intelligence Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., and Vice Chairman Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga.,  the revelations, saying Congress had been informed.

On Wednesday, the  reported that the NSA collected telecommunications records of millions of customers of Verizon, raising questions about how the government balances national security concerns with citizens' privacy.

The English-language station, beamed to 630 million viewers worldwide, said it would launch "Politics with Larry King" in June.

The show will be produced by Ora TV, an online broadcaster founded by King and Mexican telecoms tycoon Carlos Slim last year, and recorded in RT America's Washington, DC, studio and Ora TV's Los Angeles studio.

RT said it also signed a deal to air the online talk show "Larry King Now", which has been hosted by web broadcasters Hulu.com and Ora.tv since last July. The U.S. branch will be the exclusive broadcaster for both programmes, it said.

"Whether a president or an activist or a rock star was sitting across from him, Larry King never shied away from asking the tough questions, which makes him a terrific fit for our network," said RT's editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan.

RT and Ora TV declined to comment on King's salary in the deal.

Russia Today - considered a Kremlin exercise in image enhancement by critics - received 11 billion roubles ($349 million) from the state this year. It signed Wikileaks founder Julian Assange last year to host his own talk show.

King, 79, ended a 25-year run as the host of "Larry King Live" on CNN in 2010. He had interviewed Russian President Vladimir Putin several times over his 13-year rule.

RT also made headlines in 2011 when U.S. airports refused to put up one of its controversial advertisements.

The billboards comparing U.S. President Barack Obama and Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with a tagline asking, "Who poses the greater nuclear threat?" did appear at airports across Europe.

SEC Commissioner Mike Slive says league athletic directors voted unanimously to "authorize the conference to explore a primary site for the men's basketball tournament." Slive stopped short of saying "permanent," but hinted that could change.

Slive says, "We've been very successful with our permanent site in football in Atlanta. We've been very successful in our permanent site in Hoover (Ala.) in terms of baseball, so the ADs felt it was time for us to explore the possibility of a primary site for the men's basketball tournament."

The basketball tournament has been played in Tampa, Fla., Nashville, Atlanta and New Orleans over the last five years. It is scheduled for Nashville in 2015, 2016 and 2019. Two years, 2017 and 2018, have not been finalized.

For the first time this postseason, the Penguins find themselves with a bagel next to their name after the Boston Bruins pulled away for a 3-0 victory in Game 1 on Sunday night.

"It's a different look," Bylsma said.

One that will only certainly get worse if Pittsburgh can't collect itself in Game 2 on Monday night.

The Bruins rode David Krecji's two goals, Tuukka Rask's 29 saves and a hefty amount of antagonism to frustrate the Penguins into the kind of chippy play that does little favors to one of the NHL's most talented teams.

For a spell in the second period, the Penguins seemed more intent in sending a message than evening the score.

Forward Matt Cooke earned a major boarding penalty and a game misconduct for blasting Boston's Adam McQuaid behind the Bruins net. Forward Chris Kunitz was slapped with an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty after mixing it up with Boston's Rich Peverley and reigning NHL MVP Evgeni Malkin traded punches with Patrice Bergeron at the end of the period. The fight was the fourth of Malkin's seven-year career and a symbol of just how frayed the top-seeded Penguins appeared.

"I think anytime you see Evgeni Malkin fighting he's away from his game," Cooke said. "Emotions are high."

Cooke understands he and the rest of his teammates will have to keep them in check. The NHL declined to further penalize Cooke for his hit on McQuaid, meaning he'll be back on the ice Monday, offering Cooke a sense of relief. Once one of the league's most notorious hitters, Cooke missed Pittsburgh's opening round loss to Tampa Bay two years ago while serving a suspension. He has since cleaned up his act, though watching the second half of the game from the dressing room gave him unwelcome flashbacks.

"I've been in that situation before and it's no fun," he said. "I'm thankful I can go out tomorrow night and help my team."

The Penguins could certainly use it after the Bruins took away the open space the Penguins enjoyed during first and second round wins over the New York Islanders and Ottawa Senators. Whenever Pittsburgh did generate some momentum, Rask found a way to get a glove, a pad or a stick on whatever the Penguins threw his way.

Having a handful of shots clang off the posts helped. So did a defense that made things uncomfortable for Sidney Crosby and the rest of the star-laden Penguins.

"Tuukka stood tall and made a lot of saves at the right time," Boston's Brad Marchand said. "We just want to make sure we collapse low and try to take away lanes."

Something the Penguins failed to do against Krejci. The NHL's leading scorer during the postseason pushed his point total to 19 with his sixth and seventh goals of the playoffs. He beat Tomas Vokoun with a semi-flubbed wrist shot in the first period then added a gritty score in the third period when he charged the net and knocked in a rebound.

It's what Krejci tends to do this time of year. He put up a league-high 23 points in the 2011 playoffs while leading the Bruins to their first championship in nearly four decades. He's on pace to crush that number through 13 games.

"It definitely gives the rest of us a lot of confidence and makes us want to do our part too," Marchand said. "It flows all the way through the lineup when a guy's going like that and creates energy for the rest of us and allows us to feed off of that."

Boston's three goals tied for the most given up by Pittsburgh goalie Tomas Vokoun since he replaced Marc-Andre Fleury in Game 5 of the first round. Bylsma didn't place the blame for Pittsburgh's worst loss of the postseason on Vokoun and doesn't seem intent on switching back to Fleury anytime soon.

"We lost Game 1, but Tomas I thought played real well in the game," Bylsma said. "He made big saves."

Rask just made bigger ones. A sprawling stop on Malkin at the end of the first period kept the Bruins in front and he appeared to get stronger as time wore on. Pittsburgh trailed all of 17 minutes in regulation during a five-game romp over Ottawa in the conference semifinals. Boston tripled that number in one game.

Cooke praised Boston's preparation while hinting the Penguins weren't as prepared as they needed to be following an eight-day layoff. The Bruins present a significant step up in class and a drastic shift in style over the Islanders and Ottawa.

"It's a different game than we've seen," Cooke said. "It's round 3 and I think it's an eye opener for us and expectations for how the games are going to go has to change. I think that's healthy for us. Now we can get it out and move forward."

Boston expects nothing less. The Bruins flustered Crosby and Malkin in the opener. They doubt it will happen again.

"I expect them to have a big game," Bergeron said. "They're players who have character, and I don't even need to say they're excellent players."

NEW YORK/ST. LOUIS (Reuters) - These are unsettling times for digital currency businesses and the venture capitalists backing them.

On Tuesday, authorities in Spain, Costa Rica and New York arrested five people at the digital currency firm Liberty Reserve, including its founder Arthur Budovsky, and seized related bank accounts and Internet domains.

It was a further wake-up call for those involved in digital currencies, such as the most prominent, Bitcoin, that they need to comply with anti-money laundering rules or risk facing a crackdown.

They had already been put on notice - first by an April 2012 report from the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation that explained how Bitcoin was being used by criminals to secretly transfer money around the world, and then this March by the U.S. Treasury Department. Its anti-money laundering arm, the Financial Crimes and Enforcement Network (FinCEN) stated that digital currency firms needed to comply with the same anti-money laundering rules as other financial institutions, including monitoring customers and reporting suspicious activity to the government.

As regulators tighten the screws, businesses built around digital currencies are trying to satisfy new monitoring requirements without letting public enthusiasm for the technology-based concept slip away.

"I think the whole ecosystem is maturing very quickly and we have young companies that are just beginning to understand how to navigate the regulatory issues," said David A. Johnston, co-founder and executive director of BitAngels, a new venture which only this week announced it had raised $6.7 million to fund startups tied to Bitcoin.

Digital currency is electronic money that can be passed between individuals without the use of the traditional banking or money transfer system.

Different currencies are structured in different ways. Some, like Liberty Reserve's "LR" digital currency, use units of value that are tied to an existing hard currency, such as the U.S. dollar. By contrast, the value of Bitcoin, the best known virtual currency, fluctuates according to supply and demand.

Bitcoin, which has been embraced by a number of venture capitalists in Silicon Valley, exists through an open-source software program that any users with enough skill and computing power can access. It is not managed by a single company or government. Users can buy bitcoins through exchanges that convert real money into the virtual currency.

Liberty Reserve, which was closed last week, however, was a firm that U.S. prosecutors said created a platform that enabled criminal gangs to launder more than $6 billion.

Bitcoin's supporters cite a host of legitimate reasons for using a digital currency: It can be transferred using less infrastructure than traditional currencies, and with fewer service fees. A virtual currency could also be safer than using a regular credit card for online purchases, because it is not attached directly to any bank account.

But law enforcement officials see Bitcoin as another vehicle for criminals to anonymously transfer money.

FinCEN's statement in March set off a rush inside the community to learn about anti-money laundering rules and figure out how to comply with them. At the 2013 Bitcoin Conference in San Jose, California two weeks ago, discussion focused heavily on regulatory compliance - its intricacies and its costs.

"That was a big theme of the whole conference," said Jerry Brito, director of the technology policy program at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. Brito said businesses exchanging Bitcoins were coming to terms with the fact that they would now need to get licensed as money transmitters in 48 U.S. states, a process requiring in-person interviews in each state, thanks to FinCEN's guidance.

"Everything I'm telling you, I've learned over the past couple of months as I'm racing to learn," said Brito, who attended the Bitcoin Conference in San Jose. "I think that's what the Bitcoin community is doing too."

Charlie Shrem, chief executive of Bitcoin transfer firm BitInstant.com, told the conference about the importance of complying with the new rules.

"You have to know your customer," he told the audience, according to a video posted on the Internet. "Whether or not you agree with the laws or not, you've got to follow them."

The FinCEN statement means companies that exchange Bitcoins for hard currency must now hire full-time compliance officers to verify the identities of users, especially those looking to transfer Bitcoins out of the digital world and back into dollars or other hard currencies. Estimates vary on how much it costs to get compliant, but licensing and registration fees alone can total in the tens of thousands of dollars, an added heavy cost for small startup businesses.

Brito said the Bitcoin community is also trying to increase its contact with law enforcement and regulators. The Bitcoin Foundation, a Bitcoin advocacy group made up of Bitcoin-related business owners and software programmers, is looking to hire a full-time lawyer based in Washington to make its case to regulators and lawmakers.

Some members of the community are declining to discuss regulation. Jon Matonis, the Bitcoin Foundation's secretary who is identified on the group's website as one of two spokesmen for press inquiries, told Reuters: "I am electing to take a brief break from commenting on issues such as this."

U.S. law enforcement officials are looking first and foremost to unmask criminals operating in cyberspace and arrest them, wherever they may be in the world, and they're looking to digital currency businesses to help.

Ed Lowery, special agent in charge of the U.S. Secret Service's criminal investigative division, said the agency is working "aggressively with our international partners" to pursue cyber crime and the companies that permit the misuse of digital currencies. He declined to comment specifically on Bitcoin.

Liberty Reserve has not been the only recent target for the authorities. The Tokyo-based firm Mt. Gox, the world's largest exchanger of U.S. dollars with Bitcoins, had two accounts held by its U.S. subsidiary seized this month by agents from the Department of Homeland Security on the grounds that it was operating a money transmitting business without a license.

Mt. Gox on Thursday announced it would require all of its users accounts to be verified before allowing them to perform any more deposits or withdrawals. Its founder declined to comment for this story.

Other companies are simply trying to avoid having to comply with U.S. rules by keeping away from the country. Following FinCEN's statement, two digital currency firms structured similarly to Liberty Reserve - Russia-based WebMoney and Panama-based Perfect Money - restricted access to their services from inside the United States.

Vyacheslav Andryushchenko, a spokesman for WebMoney in Russia, said each of the company's 20 million users had to agree to prohibitions against money laundering and illegal trade when signing up for an account. Users who violate the rules are cut off, and all actions inside WebMoney's system are recorded, the spokesman said. A user is blocked if there are any suspicions of anything illegal. In addition, the less personal information the user provides, the fewer services are available to him or her, the spokesman said.

Several messages on the listed number on Perfect Money's website were not returned. The company's address is an empty suite in an office block on the northwestern side of Panama City. A secretary in a neighboring office said she had never seen anyone go in or out.

I, too, am concerned about how their attitude will affect the child in the future, because parents are supposed to love and accept children the way they are, and sexual orientation is inborn. Children who feel consistent disapproval grow up thinking they aren't good enough and don't measure up -- which can be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I would "handle this" by making sure my grandson knew I loved, accepted and valued him just the way he is. If that means allowing him to play with the toys of his choice in my home, that's what I'd do. And if he showed more interest in art, music and dance and less interest in sports, trucks, etc., I'd support that, too.

Nasdaq said in a statement on Thursday banks supporting the venture were BNP Paribas , Citi , Nomura , Royal Bank of Scotlandand UBS , while brokerages and traders included Newedge, DRW Trading and Getco Europe.

NLX, which gained regulatory approval this week to launch from Friday, will allow participants to trade a range of short-and long-term interest rate euro and sterling-denominated derivative products, such as futures in three-month Euribor or the 10-year Bund, on a single market.

Interest-rate derivatives have traditionally traded and cleared on two separate platforms, but NLX will allow clients to clear products on the same market as they trade.

"Regulatory change is driving the need for us to look closely at how we create capital efficiency in all parts of our business," Adrian Averre, global head of G10 flow rates trading at BNP Paribas, said in the statement.

"NLX has the potential to create significant margin savings in the short, medium and long term, which enables our clients to invest those savings into growth activities that support the global economic recovery and higher returns," Averre said.

SYDNEY (AP) -- Microsoft founder and philanthropist Bill Gates is urging Australia to boost foreign aid following the country's announcement that it was delaying a pledge to increase overseas aid spending.

Gates made his plea during a speech in the capital Canberra on Tuesday. He said that although Australia has been relatively generous, more money is needed for vital medicine and agricultural developments.

Australia said this month it was postponing by two years a long-standing pledge to increase its foreign aid spending to 0.5 percent of gross national income by 2015-16. Australia's foreign aid budget will increase to 0.37 percent in the next fiscal year.

Prime Minister Julia Gillard said Tuesday the country will spend another 80 million Australian dollars ($77 million) on polio eradication efforts. Australia had committed AU$50 million through 2014.
