2nd Round NHL Playoff Predictions

2nd Round NHL Playoff Predictions

Lance Moore Authentic Jersey

After beating the New York Rangers four games to one in the first round of the NHL playoffs, the Capitals showed off a new defensive look that has never been seen before. Superstars like Backstrom, Ovechkin, and Semin have all bought into this defensive system which was implemented by coach Bruce Boudreau. With good goal tending in Neuvirth and one of the best forwards in the NHL, the Caps look to roll over the Bolts. The Lightning had to hold onto their star goalie Dwayne Roloson to beat the fragile Penguins in a game seven. The Lightning have a balanced offense with St. Louis, Stamkos, Gange, and Lecavalier but even with this strong offensive presence the Lightning will still fall short in this series.

Lance Moore Black Jersey

2 Philadelphia Flyers vs. 3 Boston Bruins

The Philadelphia Flyers for some reason or another always seem to win in the playoffs. For the Flyers, it does not matter who is in between the pipes because they always manage to light up the score board. With playoff experience, the Flyers know what it takes to win. Danny Briere is going to be the key to offensive success for the Flyers. Even though 8 different players have scored for the Flyers in the first round, which illustrates their offensive depth, Briere is the key factor. The Bruins on the other hand just had one of the toughest series against their rival the Montreal Canadians. The Bruins are going to need to match up to the physicality of the Flyers which I am sure they can do. With Tim Thomas in net, anything is possible but if the Flyers were able to light up Ryan Miller I believe they will do the same to Thomas. Despite the goalie issues in Philly, the Flyers will find a way to advance.

www.saintsofficialnflshop.com/16_lance_moore_jersey_authentic_black_limited_cheap.html

Despite accumulating the most points this season, the Canucks let a 30 lead slip into a game seven against the defending Stanley Cup Champions the Chicago Blackhawks. After winning a thriller in overtime, the Canucks advanced but barely. Even though they almost lost in that game seven, I believe the Canucks will come out with something to prove against the Predators. With the Sedin twins leading the way, scoring should not be a problem even when facing a stellar goalie in Pekka Rinne. Luongo on the other hand, showed he can be a little shaky, but after his game seven performance he is back to his old self. The Predators do have hard working tough players in Shea Webber, Mike Fisher, David Legwand, and Jordin Tootoo but the Canucks will prove to be too much for Tootoo and his Predators. If the third line plays the way they have been playing for the Predators, they have a shot to give the Canucks another scare.

2 San Jose Sharks vs. 3 Detroit Red Wings

San Jose will be looking to send home the Wings for the second straight season starting with game one tomorrow night. The rested Red Wings will be looking to keep their winning ways up against the Sharks after sweeping the Yotes. The key factor to this series is going to be ability of the Red Wings to control the puck, Datsyuk and his gang. Datsyuk, arguably one of the best professional hockey players in the world will have to put everything on the ice during this series to defeat the Sharks. With Franzen coming back healthy, that will certainly help the Red Wings in this series but with a questionable Zetterberg, role players on the Wings will need to step up big time this series. The San Jose Sharks have maybe one of the most dynamic offenses in the playoffs. If they want to send the Wings packing, they will need to light up the lamp quite often to keep the Wings from advancing.

8 Obvious Things I've ReLearned About Marathon T

8 Obvious Things I've ReLearned About Marathon Training

The other day I ran into an old college friend I hadn't seen in a year or so. We exchanged pleasantries and "whathaveyoubeenuptos." He's been up to law school. I've been up to training for the marathon, which he did last year. "Any words of advice?" I asked.

"Make sure you get new shoes at some point," he said.

I smiled. Of course there'd be new shoes. I get new shoes every 300400 miles, if not sooner, just like the experts, and those persistent emails from my local running store, tell me to. I wondered how proper shoe maintenance could have escaped someone's notice during months of training. But, who was I too judge?

I still had scabs around my ribcage from that time before I knew it was a good idea to put BodyGlide around my sports bra. (Historians refer to this period as the prechafe management era.) If anything, marathon training is a unique opportunity to learn, or relearn, or repeatedly bang your head against, the obvious. Here, eight obvious things the miles have taught me thus far:

1. Running three days a week isn't going to cut it.

Duh. When I first printed out my training plans (on a zesty shade of pink paper, no less), there was one option that had me running four days a week with moderate long runs in the earlier weeks. A second option had me running just three days a week with longer long runs from the getgo. I went with the latter because I'd "have more time for yoga, strength training, and injury prevention" (and also, checkbook balancing, Twin Peaks watching, and CSA vegetable cooking). Now, five weeks in, it's clear, as if it weren't from the beginning: I need another day of running and more mileage.

www.saintsofficialnflshop.com/16_lance_moore_jersey_authentic_black_limited_cheap.html

Atkins and Dukan be damned, a girl's actually gotta eat some carbs when packing in the mileage. I typically feel like I'm eating a vast amount of gummies or jelly beans on my long runs, but calculations after the fact and tired muscles during the run usually reveal that I haven't quite gobbled down the 60 to 90 grams of carbs per hour that are recommended for runs over two hours.

3. But you can't eat whatever you want.

As much as I'd like to report that training is a free pizza party pass, it's more like a meal ticket for quinoa, tuna, greens, and homemade smoothies. Not only do pizza and beer effectively counteract most, if not all, calories burned on the track especially as I'm more of an IPA than a Michelob Ultra kind of gal they also fail to effectively fuel a run or help a body recover from one. They do succeed in producing slower times, however.

4. You really should get at least six hours of sleep a night.

Since college, if not before, I've been doing research into sleep deprivation. Like my research into the effects of margaritas on common colds, I'm never pleased with the results: Sadly, the human body well my human body, at least would seem to require at least six hours of sleep to function well. Running 20 to 30 miles each week does not change this fact.

Sure, you can make a short run a bagelbuying expedition (this was actually an official tip handed down from a running magazine), see a movie with a friend while recovering from a long run, or catchup on This American Life on your headphones, but really, training takes up a lot of time and isn't all that conducive to doubletasking. The bagel place isn't really that far away, I'm likely to fall asleep in the movie, and it's really hard to keep pace while Ira Glass is talking with young southern women who have been tragically, wrongfully imprisoned.

www.saintsofficialnflshop.com
