This the outfit I decided to wear to a wedding. Sometimes it can be hard to pick something Lolita that's still suitable for a wedding, but this Juliette et Justine dress worked perfectly! The blouse and hat are both vintage items - I would certainly encourage the use of vintage items in Classic Lolita. I can't help but feel that it adds an air of authenticity.

For an exhibition on Lolita Fashion I decided to try something a little different and go for a 1920s Lolita look. I'm really happy with how it turned out. The event was great, they had lots of workshops and talks about Lolita Fashion and it was held at the V&A Museum in London - such a beautiful building! We saw a great talk about Lolita Fashion and Feminism; I thought it would make a great cultural studies essay. Can Lolita be considered Feminist?

But I digress! Thinking about the closure of these shops reminded me of a photo taken some time ago. Why? It was taken round the back of Rounder Records. See the great thing about this particular shop, is that they would hire a local street artist to paint a recent album release on the outside wall round the back. It was great to see it change regularly and the artwork was always outstanding. This image marks the release of the Ladyhawke album:

Here's what happened to the other half of that old Harry Potter duvet: Harry Potter Lolita skirt! ^^ It's a shame I didn't take a picture of the back actually as it's different to the front, having Ron and Hermione on it. Anywho, I wore this for a night out at a local socialist club in Brighton. A friend of mine does an awesome night there full of electro-pop, £2 bottles of German beer and an anything-goes attitude to almost everything! It's the sort of place where nobody cares what you wear and everyone is welcome (well, except far-right fascists I guess).



I'm fairly happy with how the outfit turned out, but reckon I can get that corset a little tighter what with it being steel-boned. I didn't want to force it in too much as we went to a Southern Indian restaurant beforehand and I filled up excessively on masala dosa. I've also fallen out of love with that wig, so think it's time to look into a new one. The skirt, well, I love it! But then I love almost anything related to Harry Potter! Hence my latest obsession with the Pottermore website. And on that note, I must be off to brew more potions and collect points for Slytherin house.
