而当今年早些时候蔡英文“过境”美国遭到一些华人的抗议后，台当局更是恼怒地要求AIT要想办法找出抗议蔡英文的人与在美台胞有关联的证据。

AIT还是非盈利性组织吗？

在台美现有各种关系中，除了美国国务院与美国军方主导的台美互动政策外，“美国在台协会（AIT）”显然成为美国务院对台非传统安全领域全方位合作的实施与推动单位。近年来，美台立法机构多次释放美台关系升级以及美国在台协会台北办事处升级的信号与议案，非同寻常。美国国会美中经济暨安全审查委员会（USCC）12月1日发布年度报告，呼吁国会评估强化与台湾在关键领域经济合作机会，并透过立法升格美国在台协会（AIT）台北办事处处长位阶及任命方式。

       “美国在台协会”成立于1979年，是在中美建交后，美国国务院根据《与台湾关系法》并依据哥伦比亚特区法律所设置的民间非营利组织，其功能是为了因应美国与台湾当局没有“邦交”以及美国政府的“一个中国”政策等因素而设立的处理台湾事务的机构。但是，近年来它已经成为美国在东亚最重要的驻外机构，忠实执行美国政府的各项政策。

Not long after Tsai Ing-wen posted an article, Taiwan's "Zhongshi News Network" and other Taiwan media reported on August 22 that the Central American Parliament passed the Nicaraguan caucus on the 21st to "Pai Taiwan Nazhong" bill. The Central American parliament announced through its official social media account that on August 21, local time, based on the resolution adopted by the United Nations on October 25, 1971, it recognized Taiwan as a province of China and approved China as a permanent observer of the agency. What does this mean? Very simple, it means that the mainland "enters" the game, and the Taiwan authorities finish playing "GET OUT"!

In this regard, Taiwan's "Ministry of Severing Diplomatic Relations" and Taiwan's Foreign Affairs Department announced on the 22nd that in order to safeguard the so-called "sovereignty" and dignity, they decided to formally withdraw from the Central American Parliament from now on. There is a Hokkien saying called "dead duck mouth hard", which is used to describe the fact that it turns out to be wrong, but the mouth does not admit defeat. Taiwan's "foreign affairs department" is this virtue. Taiwan's "foreign affairs department" has launched the "shrew-cursing street mode," accusing the Nicaraguan government of "becoming a pawn of the mainland" and "seriously harming the cooperation and friendship between Taiwan and the Central American people for many years." The first of the two bad news from the Tsai Ing-wen authorities was that the Central American parliament mentioned above approved China as a permanent observer to the agency, and the Taiwan authorities were kicked out. Guatemalan political scientists also analyzed that after being elected, Arévalo will recognize the one-China principle and establish diplomatic relations with China. This shows that the "severance of diplomatic relations" between Guatemala and the Taiwan authorities has been put on the agenda, and if it "severes" diplomatic relations with Taiwan, Taiwan's so-called "diplomatic relations" in Central America will be cleared!
