Preparing......!

Just now Mr. Ichikawa said he did not have time to walk but to prepare for next month's stage. I share a similar situation with him. I have been at my house all day long, studying for my upcoming exam. Longing for hanging out! But I know I can't.

Efficiency may not be high but I have to stick to it.

Add oil!

BTW, my tea for this afternoon is mandarin orange peel pu-er tea, a mild taste fits for the coming autumn.

Thrilled Incident Discovery

I had a good rest today.

And tonight I saw a movie called Flower and Sword, or Hana ikusa. I think this is a good way to learn Japanese culture. So it is.

An incident discovery that makes me excited is the death poem, when I look up the Toyotomi Hideyoshi，豊臣 秀吉 ，I find his death poem "露と落ち 露と消えにし 我が身かな 浪速のことは 夢のまた夢” quite interesting. Then I spent my night reading beautiful death poems.

Among them, I am impressed by

大ていは地に任せて肌骨好し 红粉を涂らず 自ら风流

此身此骨归于天地，不沾红尘，独自风流。

I think it is a grand one.

And a cute one:

まてしばし我ぞ渉りて三瀬川 浅み深みも君に知らせん

Oh, they make my day.

Japan's Habits of Overwork

....I work until now to meet a ddl, which should be due in two hours. This is a miserable experience, as I got dizzy 5 hours ago, I had a cup of coffee to make me stay awake, although I have one training and one meeting tomorrow.

Then this reminds me of Japan's loooong working hours that I read before. Is judging employees by input rather than output still works?

I prefer people to work more efficiently.

頑張ってね tomorrow ！

Mug for coffee today, from the Guggenheim Museum.

Japan & Hawaii

I felt the Japanese are fond of Hawaii and must have some relations with this place. Yesterday I read a few articles and found some explanations that make sense to me. One is a historical link between the Hawaii Japanese and the local, as a large amount of labor force migrated to support the sugar industry in Hawaii around the 1860s, and then the workers settled down in the islands. This migration history may make them feel like home when tourist to Hawaii.

Another explanation convincing is the collusion between the Japan Government, the tourist industry and the media. These three sectors may preach the islands as a paradise in all aspects and this successful marketing strategy attracts millions of people.

Of course, there should be more explanations and many complex elements contributing to this issue. I do hope to know more about the fact. Maybe I should start to learn the language?

Before that, let me kick off my ddl tonight!

My Last Visit to Japan

I visited Kyoto three months ago, soon after the earthquake hit the Kaisai Area. My friends were worried about its after-effects, but I do trust the disaster backup system of Japan a lot, including its architectures. In fact, during my one-week stay in Kyoto, I did safely experience one quake late at about 10.p.m., which proves my judge.

Regrettably, my schedules there for the a workshop, a presentation on the conference and an invited award ceremony were quite tight that it did not allow me to explore the city too much, especially the museums. But I managed to slip out to visit the "Fushimi Inari Shrine" in the daytime before receiving the award at night.

Photo credited to my peers when I was awarded.

Hope to visit Japan soooon!
