Is my product supported? We're happy to tell you that most M-Audio products are already supported on macOS Mojave 10.14 without any need for additional driver or firmware updates. If you haven't already, check our list of supported class-compliant and driver required products below to make sure your M-Audio product is ready for the update to Mojave 10.14.
Apple's new OS includes new security features that require the user to allow a system extension when installing a new driver. This is a simple process that was added in macOS High Sierra and only needs to be done once for each driver. So, if you're installing any new driver on macOS Mojave, look out for the following pop-up message and check out the driver section for instructions.
The good news is that this is only necessary if you are installing a new driver. If you are updating to macOS Mojave and already have the latest driver for your device installed, you will not need to re-install the driver or complete these steps.
While your M-Audio products are ready for macOS Mojave, that doesn't mean everybody is. If you use one of our products with a third-party software title like Ableton or Cubase, be sure to check with the developer to confirm support for the new OS before updating.

Required: Similar to macOS High Sierra, all driver supported products on macOS Mojave will require the user to allow the system extension in the Security & Privacy System Preferences if the driver is being installed for the first time. After installing the driver, the following pop-up will appear to report that the driver extension has been blocked:

To enable the extension and allow the driver, navigate to System Preferences > Security & Privacy. Restart the computer first if this is necessary to complete the driver installation. If you're planning to upgrade, or you're new to Microsoft Office, you probably noticed that now you have two options: Office 2019 and Microsoft 365 (Office 365). If you're a little confused about which one to choose, you're not alone. Although both products give you access to the same apps with the latest core features, some significant differences come down to the cost of ownership and the list of enhancements.

Office 2019 is the name that Microsoft is using for the standalone version of its popular suite of office apps. It doesn't require a monthly subscription, meaning that once you go through the one-time purchase, you own the copy forever.

Using this option (also known as the 'perpetual' or 'on-premises' version of Office), you can install the apps on one computer, and you'll get security updates. But you won't be able to upgrade to a follow-up version. This means that you can keep using the version that you purchased for its life-cycle (usually five years) and beyond (without updates), but if you want to access the new features and tools, you'll need to pay full price again.

Also, even though Office 2019 comes with apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook with more improvements than the older version, it only ships with a subset of features and without many of the perks available with a Microsoft 365 subscription. For example, with the 2019 version, you won't find cloud and AI features, along with benefits such as 1TB of OneDrive cloud storage and free monthly credits to make calls to landlines using Skype.

Who should buy Office 2019

Although anyone can purchase Office 2019, this version has been designed for commercial customers with volume licenses in mind who aren't yet ready to transition to a cloud-based version of Office and happen to have specific requirements to use the suite of apps on-premise.

If you're a regular consumer, this is still (somewhat) a good option if you prefer a more traditional approach. If you plan to install the suite on a single device, don't depend on new features, or are not ready to start using cloud-based applications, then it's also a solid choice.

Additionally, while you're getting a license for one PC or Mac going with the one-time purchase option, you can install the Office apps on all your mobile devices, but you'll only get some basic features. Drm plugin software for mac.

Office 2019 comes in two flavors, including 'Office Home & Student 2019' and 'Office Home & Business 2019,' and they're typically priced at $150 and $250 per device, respectively. Office Home & Student 2019 comes with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, while Office Home & Business 2019 includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote.

Also, consider that unlike previous perpetual versions, Office 2019 is only supported on devices running Windows 10 or the three most recent versions of macOS. If you must use the most up-to-date version of Office and still on Windows 8.1 or Windows 7, you have to purchase a Microsoft 365 subscription.

Microsoft 365 is the new name of the subscription service that replaces Office 365. However, it offers the same benefits, the same apps available with Office 2019, plus additional apps, features, and perks.

Using this option, you'll be paying a monthly or yearly subscription fee giving you access to apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Access, and others across your devices (PC, Mac, tablet, and phone) as long as only six devices are accessing the account at a time. Also, depending on your subscription plan, you can share the account with up to five additional people for a total of six people with one subscription.

Perhaps one of the best parts about getting a subscription plan is that you never have to worry about new versions. When you're using Microsoft 365 (Office 365), you'll always be running the most up-to-date version of Microsoft's apps. This unlocks regular security updates, improvements, and, more importantly, access to the latest features and tools as soon as they become available.

You also get cloud features (such as real-time collaboration and AI features) to help boost your productivity when working from home, school, work, and across devices. Also, as part of the bundle, everyone gets 1TB of OneDrive storage (up to 6TB in total when using the Family subscription), Skype minutes to make calls to landlines, and you can contact the support line with any question you may have.

If you need even more storage, in addition to the already 1TB of cloud storage, subscribers can also purchase up to an additional 1TB of OneDrive storage on 200GB increments for an extra $1.99 per month, doubling the total storage up to 2TB (1TB already included with bundled and 1TB additional subscription) in their account for $9.99. This option is only available for Microsoft 365 'Personal' and 'Family' subscribers. However, if you're sharing the account using a Personal subscription with other people, only the primary account holder can access the separate full terabyte.

Similar to Office 2019, you can install Office with Microsoft 365 on your mobile devices, but unlike the perpetual version, you'll get access to the complete array of features.

Who should buy Microsoft 365

If you need access to the suite of apps, Microsoft 365 (Office 365) is perhaps your best choice, as it's the only option that ensures continuity of updates and upgrades at a low cost. Also, you get access to all the apps, which you can install on all your devices, including Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 7, and macOS. (Office 2019 only allows you to use apps on a single computer running Windows 10.)

If you need access to the suite of apps, Office 365 is perhaps your best choice.

The subscription service comes with different plans. If you're the only person using the apps and services, you can purchase the 'Microsoft 365 Personal' (formerly 'Office 365 Personal') plan for $70 a year, which gives you access to the software suite, alongside 1TB of OneDrive storage and Skype minutes.

However, if you're planning to share the account with family members or roommates, you should select the 'Microsoft 365 Family' (formerly 'Office 365 Home') plan for $100 a year, which allows you to share the apps and benefits with up to six people. Plus, everyone gets their Skype minutes and 1TB of OneDrive storage.

If you choose to buy into a subscription plan, you should purchase the yearly subscription as you'll be spending more money paying the monthly fee.

Microsoft even has a free subscription plan for students and teachers using a valid school email address. Using this service, you'll get access to Word, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, and other school tools for free.

Important: Although the name has changed on April 21, 2020, the new subscription plans are meant to improve service at the same price with more apps, such as Microsoft Teams (consumer), Microsoft Family Safety, and feature like Microsoft Editor, PowerPoint Presenter Coach, and Money in Excel. (Some features and apps mentioned in this article, such as the consumer version of Teams and 'Money in Excel,' are not yet available.)

Windows 7 has reached the end of support, but Microsoft will continue to offer security updates for Office apps until January 2023, but you won't receive new features. Once you upgrade to Windows 10, support will resume with regular security patches, new features, and improvements.

So, which should you buy?

Ultimately, it'll depend on your requirements. However, if you'll be using the apps for a long time, purchasing a Microsoft 365 subscription is perhaps your best option, because you get full access to all the apps and perks with low cost of ownership.

There are two basic ways that you, as an admin, can deploy Office for Mac to users in your organization:

Provide your users with the installer package file, and have them install Office for Mac for themselves
Download the installer package file to your local network, and then use your software distribution tools to deploy Office for Mac to your users

If you have an Office 365 (or Microsoft 365) plan, you can provide your users with instructions on how to download and install Office for Mac for themselves. To install Office for Mac, a user has to be administrator on the Mac or know an administrator account name and password.

But, if you deploy Office for Mac for your users, you have more control over the deployment, including which users get Office for Mac and when. To plan your deployment, review the following information.

Download Office for Mac to your local network

The easiest way to download Office for Mac, and ensure you're always getting the most current version and build, is to download directly from the Office Content Delivery Network (CDN) on the internet. Here are the links to the installer packages for the Office suite, which contains all the applications:

Office for Mac (for Office 365 or Microsoft 365 plans)
Office 2019 for Mac (for retail or volume licensed versions)
Office 2016 for Mac (for retail or volume licensed versions)

The same installer package is used for Office for Mac and Office 2019 for Mac. How you activate the product determines whether you get the features for Office for Mac or the features for Office 2019 for Mac.

Deploy Office for Mac to users in your organization

Office for Mac uses the Apple Installer technology for installation. That means you can use the software distribution tools that you normally use to deploy software to Mac users. Some of the most common tools are Jamf Pro, Munki, and AutoPkg. You can also use Apple Remote Desktop and AppleScript.

Important

There are changes in Office for Mac to improve security, including implementing Apple app sandboxing guidelines. These changes mean that you can't customize the app bundle before or after you deploy Office. Don't add, change, or remove files in an app bundle. For example, even if you don't need the French language resource files for Excel, don't delete them. This change prevents Excel from starting. Even though you can't customize app bundles, you can configure preferences for each app.

Additional deployment information for Office for Mac

Whichever deployment method you decide to use, the following information can help you plan your Office for Mac deployment.

What's new: Before you deploy, review the information about what's new for admins in Office for Mac. This includes information about system requirements, language support, and new features.
Side-by-side installation: You can't have Office 2016 for Mac and Office 2019 for Mac installed on the same computer. Also, you can't have Office for Mac (from an Office 365 or Microsoft 365 plan) along with either Office 2016 for Mac or Office 2019 for Mac (both of which are one-time purchase versions) installed on the same computer.
Deploying individual apps: Installer package files for individual applications are available on the Office Content Delivery Network (CDN). For links to those, see Most current packages for Office for Mac.
Activation: To use Office for Mac, it needs to be activated. Before you deploy, review the information about how activation works in Office for Mac.
Uninstalling: If you need to uninstall Office for Mac, you can follow these steps to completely remove Office for Mac. Unfortunately, there is no program to uninstall Office for Mac automatically.
Office for Mac 2011: Support for Office for Mac 2011 ended on October 10, 2017. All of your Office for Mac 2011 apps will continue to function. But, you could expose yourself to serious and potentially harmful security risks. To completely remove Office for Mac 2011, follow these steps.
Upgrading to Office 2019 for Mac: If you're a volume licensed customer, you can upgrade to Office 2019 for Mac without uninstalling Office 2016 for Mac. You just need to download the 2019 version of the Volume License (VL) Serializer from the Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC) and deploy it to each computer running Office 2016 for Mac. If you need to go back to Office 2016 for Mac after you've upgraded, follow these steps.
Version numbers Version numbers of 16.17 or higher for retail or volume licensed installs indicate you have Office 2019 for Mac. Office 2016 for Mac has version numbers of 16.16 or lower. Since the 'major' version (16) hasn't changed between Office 2016 for Mac and Office 2019 for Mac, application settings, including policies, preferences, and preference domains are similar between the two versions. Also, add-ins and other extensibility solutions that are compatible with Office 2016 for Mac will most likely be compatible with Office 2019 for Mac or will require minimal testing.

By default, both the Netflix and YouTube apps support an open protocol called DIAL (Discovery and Launch), meaning you can cast any Netflix and YouTube videos from your phone to TV connected with Roku. To do so just simply launch your YouTube or Netflix app on your smartphone and tap on the Cast button. It should automatically discover Roku on the same network and start casting that video. Easy peasy. It also works, if you want to cast YouTube from your computer onto Roku.

Unfortunately, you can’t use the DIAL protocol on anything except YouTube and Netflix. So, if you want to cast videos to Roku from other video channels or even the videos you may have in the local storage; you’ll have to use the combination of screen mirroring and third-party apps. So, today, I’ll show you how to cast any video on Roku from Windows, Android, and even Mac.

However, It gets tricky with the Apple ecosystem and there are a few workarounds. We need to use Roku to our Advantage and find out ways to cast the devices on Roku.

Cast To Roku From Mac

Mac never adopted Miracast and uses its proprietary Airplay for all the wireless streaming across the ecosystem. However, this doesn’t mean we can’t use it with Roku. Click on that and that’s it. It’ll send the video link to Roku. Now, you can close your mac and watch the video on your Roku as it directly fetches the video from the internet, just as Chromecast.

Android and Google Chrome are getting closer together. Google expanded its App Runtime for Chrome (ARC) so that not only Chrome OS users, but also Mac, Windows and Linux users can run Android apps on their machine. Although ARC is directed to developers, this is a huge step forward for the integration of Android into Chrome. This paves the way for developers to work on their apps and create fully functional versions that you can download in the Chrome Webstore and run inside your browser.

If you cannot wait and want to try out some of your most used Android apps right now, all you need to do is download the ARC Welder app and get some apk files from Google’s Play Store.

How to download APK files directly from Google Play

Since Google doesn’t really want you to download APK files from their Play Store any other way than from an Android device (might be against the Play Store’s terms and conditions), you need to use a third party tool to download an app’s files.

I recommend using Evozi’s APK Downloader, an extremely easy online tool that generates direct download links from an app’s Play Store link. Simply copy the Play Store URL and paste it into the sites text field, select “Generate Download Link” and then click the green download button.

Insert and run Android apps using the ARC Welder app

Using the ARC Welder app is pretty easy and straightforward. Launch the app from your Chrome App Lauchner and select the big orange plus-button.

Go to the directory with your downloaded APK file(s) and select the one you want to run. In the next step, you can select different settings such as portrait or landscape as well as tablet or phone mode. You can leave the OAuth Client ID and Metadata field as is. After choosing the settings, select Launch App.

After going through the process you might have already understood that you can only run and test one app this way.

Since all of that is still in the beta stage, a number of apps won’t be compatible with ARC Welder. One reason is that not all Google Play Services are supported yet. I tried several apps and could run Instagram and Candy Crush Saga without problems. Others like Crossy Road and Clash of Clans didn’t work, but I’m confident that they’ll run eventually.

I hope that developers will get busy testing their apps on their computers and work on the compatibility with Chrome. This way, we might see Android apps popping up in the Chrome Webstore in the near future.

This process would consist of cloning the original drive while still inside the computer to a separate external hard drive, then installing the new drive and cloning the external hard drive to that new drive.

Booting into the recovery partition or OS install media

After you install the new hard drive, you will need to boot to the recovery partition on the original drive if OS 10.7 or later is installed. If OS 10.6.8 or earlier is installed, you can use the original OS install discs that came with the computer.
