Then we got word that two fires near the towns of Boise and Mountain Home, Idaho had been really demonstrating some aggressive behavior. I had a couple contacts from previous fires that I worked on before that were assigned to work these fires. We chatted and I was on my way first thing the next morning.

As I neared the Pony and Elk Complex fires east of Mountain Home I was hit with a think wall of low level ground smoke about 60 miles away from it. I knew it was going to be a busy day wholesale jerseys so I called my wife and let her know everything was going well on the road. I also told her I was going to be swamped and not to worry unless she doesn hear from me until the next day. I had learned a valuable lesson the year before.

Midway through the second day we got word that the Beaver Creek fire outside Sun Valley, Idaho, had become aggressive. After discussions with editors and the public information officers it was determined that I should make my way east.

Once I arrived at the Beaver Creek fire I was amazed at how much energy it seemed to have behind it. It was angry and hungry. I was quickly taken to an evacuated neighborhood of exclusive homes to witness the fire making its way down the mountain. I hadn filed any photos all day because of the relocation Wholesale NFL Jerseys and I knew I had to get something up on the wire. After setting up office in my truck and getting pics out I was soon able to witness a unique sight right from my truck. On the ridge line across from me a backing fire was making its way down the ridge. A backing fire is a fire that runs against the wind as it consumes fuel. In this case it was running down hill as well which is not the typical behavior for flames. I was so fortunate I had the perfect vantage point to witness this all night.

At that point I realized there was no way I was going to find accommodations in the area for the night. It is a resort community, it was the weekend now, there were area evacuations and it was late. This strategy worked very well to both our benefits and at times we were able to pull away from the television news stations covering the fire who were weighed down by all their equipment, constant updates and deadlines. We could go really look for images that told the story rather than a couple of trees on fire and we could afford to take a bit of time to make those images.

The thing is that covering fires is actually hard work. It hot, you packing a lot more gear than usual, you have to cover a lot of terrain and you constantly filthy and sweaty. My best nights of rest lately came after working the fire story all day. You are just flatout exhausted.

And with that said, I have no clue how the firefighters can do what they do all day in and out during the summer. Younger men and women than I fight fire hand to hand in the dirt.

And that is just it. I am a transient to this story. Men and women are really hiking up and down the mountains all day and night to protect others homes and property. I just come in and try to share their story and the story of what takes place and then I leave. They are still there swinging their heavy Pulaski, digging fire lines, putting out hot spots and trying to protect your homes.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. Florida quarterback recruit Jeff Driskel, from Hagery High School in Oviedo, was announced Tuesday as the Maxwell Football Club's National High School Player of the Year.

Driskel accounted for 80percent of his team's offense, amassing almost 500 yards of total offense in the Huskies' firstround Class 5A state playoff game against Lakeland this fall. He completed 138 of 235 passes for 1,819 yards and 15 touchdowns as a senior Troy Polamalu NFL Jersey while rushing for 1,333 yards and 20 touchdowns. He also caught a pair of TD passes.

Well, the Flyers have now officially dug themselves into another hole. They again will be given an opportunity to test the resolve for which they have become so famous. They threw an incredible punch at the Boston Bruins on Monday, but they still find themselves buried in their secondround playoff series, 02.

Despite a dominating performance by the James Van Riemsdyk the crowd was chanting in the third period as the Flyers burgeoning young star made foray after foray at the Bruins goal and took a turn on three different lines the Bruins held on through the end of regulation and then won the game in overtime, 32. The winner was scored by David Krejci at 14:18 of overtime. It was a goal, a slap from between the circles, the beat Brian Boucher cleanly and immediately ricocheted out of the goal. The referees did not see it but, after the next stoppage, a video replay confirmed the obvious.

They spun the Goaltending Wheel of Controversy again Monday night. This time, it came up the fifth time in nine postseason games, the Flyers had to change goaltenders. The first three times, in the Buffalo series, it was because of gross incompetence. The fourth time, it was because the team was so bad in Game 1 against Buffalo. The fifth time, it was because Flyers starter Brian Boucher appeared to hurt his left hand with 8:59 remaining in the second period.

But in the end, it didn matter. Boucher was back for the start of the third period, and the game would last into the xxxxxth.

Back when, the first period began as if in a Flyers dream. After and after Bless America, the home team played as if shot out of a canon and scored after only 29 seconds, when Van Riemsdyk converted on a 2on1 pass from Claude Giroux.

Nine minutes later, it was Van Riemsdyk again, on a power play, getting the second rebound of an original shot by Kimmo Timonen. It was JVR seventh goal of the playoffs, and only begins to tell the story of just how good Antonio Brown Jersey he has been. There were some loooong stretches where the Flyers couldn get the puck out of their zone, which can be a wearing proposition on everybody.

Still, the Flyers survived. Bobrovsky was excellent after he entered the game and it was 22 going to the third. At which point, Boucher came back. And, at which point, the Flyers played their best overall period of the young series. Their pressure was relentless at times. Van Riemsdyk, Danny Briere, Mike Richards and others all had multiple golden chances to give the Flyers the lead but it didn happen. Van Riemsdyk played a manly 9 minutes 33 seconds in the third as Flyers coach Peter Laviolette kept sending him out there with almost every line.

The overtime was a wild circus, again dominated by the Flyers. But Boston Rich Peverly did hit a post with about 9:05 left.

But in the end, it was Krejci and another hill to climb.

Can you be wrong on any other points you made? Bobrovsky is the better goaltender and I have been pounding the drums for his starting since Day One. Forget looks, Kate could flat out sing and Hart has to resort to tricks to cover her lack of range. If there is anything else you don't know, favor us with it, as it makes for amusing reading.

This is becoming a yearly thing: USC is picked to go to the National Championship in the preseason, they get upset once, they go to the Rose Bowl, and they absolutely dominate led by an outstanding performance by their standout player from the regular season.
