In 1948 , Puma's history was started by divided "Dassler brothers firm" .

Rudolf found "RUDA" . Now , "RUDA" is Puma .
The name was born from RUDA (Da) which connected Dassler which was a surname with Ru which connected Rudolf.
But , he does not like the name of RUDA . So , he changed the name for "Puma" in 1949 .

It seems that Puma is a soccer-colored strong maker generally . However , it seems to be from track and field of the Olympics that shoes of Puma became famous.
A track-and-field athlete in the Helsinki Olympics, the Rome Olympics, the Tokyo Olympics and shoes of Puma took the gold medal, and the name of Puma grew big at a stretch.

Puma which became famous for the Olympics is used habitually in soccer World Cup afterwards by many star players.
