The two men were part of a group of 22 skydivers who jumped from a plane in Zephyrhills, about 30 miles northeast of Tampa, according to the Tampa Tribune newspaper.

When only 20 of those who jumped returned, authorities launched a search and found the bodies of the two men a few hours later, Florida media said.

The two men were from Iceland, according to Skydive City, which planned the jump, the Tribune reported.

Their identities were not released.

A spokesman for the Pasco County, Florida Sheriff's Office could not be reached for comment.

That would leave the second-place party in position to lead a new government.

Borisov's Citizens for Bulgaria's European Development party amassed the most votes with 30.7 percent, followed by the opposition Socialists with 27 percent with 96 percent of the ballots counted.

Results published by the Central Election Commission showed that two more parties will enter Parliament the mainly Turkish MRF party with 10.7 percent and the nationalist Ataka party with 7.4 percent.

Borisov led his party to victory in 2009 with just under 40 percent of the vote and headed a minority government, but resigned as prime minister in February amid sometimes violent protests against poverty, high utility bills and corruption.

Six years after Bulgaria's entry into the European Union, the Balkan state of 7.3 million remains the bloc's poorest member.

Many Bulgarians feel squeezed by low wages the lowest in the EU at 400 euros ($524) a month and relentless inflation. Cuts in health care and education and other programs in the drive to reduce public debt have also angered many citizens.

Borisov's prospects for forming a coalition government were small as all other parties have refused to join him.

"For the first time in the last 23 years we have a ruling party that has been reelected on top, but strangely enough what has been formed around this party is a 'cordon sanitaire.' Despite winning the election this political party is not in a position to shape the future of the country," political analyst Vladimir Shopov told The Associated Press.

Borisov has not made any statements after the vote.

If he cannot assemble a coalition, the opportunity will go to the Socialists, who said they were ready to seek broad consensus for an anti-crisis cabinet of technocrats to be headed by a former finance minister, Plamen Oresharski.

Socialist leader Sergei Stanishev said his party was ready to meet with all parties except Borisov's, as well as with citizens' organizations for such a cabinet.

"The only option is a programmatic government with strong expert participation and with a clear program," he said.

Analysts are less optimistic, saying that it will be very difficult to form a government that would be able to appease public discontent.

"I expect the country will soon head to another election," said analyst Anton Todorov.

Disappointed with the election results and accusing the politicians with vote rigging, protesters on Sunday shouted "Mafia" and tried to storm the building where party leaders arrived for post-election news conferences. They were stopped by police in riot gear.

Stoyan Petrov, a 49-year-old shopkeeper voiced his frustration with the election outcome. "For so many years now, the same thing is repeating. We will again hear the same old song. I don't see how we can get the country back on a normal track," he said.

Shopov, the political analyst, voiced fears that with some 24 percent of the votes being split among more than 30 parties with none of them reaching the 4 percent hurdle to enter parliament, feelings of being sidelined may fuel anger among their voters.

Voter apathy was widespread, and allegations of vote fraud and a wiretapping scandal marred the campaign.

Weeks ahead of the elections, prosecutors alleged that former Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov was responsible for illegally eavesdropping on political opponents during his term. He denied it.

However, the scandal deepened as wiretaps leaked in the media revealed that Borisov allegedly had summoned Sofia's chief prosecutor to discuss details of the bribery probe, leading to suspicions of government interference.

On Saturday, prosecutors stormed a printing house and seized 350,000 ballots that were printed beyond the legally fixed number.

Allegations of vote-rigging have accompanied elections in the past, prompting a large team of international observers to monitor the election.

On Monday, the head of the OSCE Election Observation Mission to Bulgaria, Eoghan Murphy, said that "scandals and the recent discovery of additional ballot papers without proper explanation undermined peoples' faith in the political system, and more worryingly, made them question the process itself."

"The electoral process was further negatively affected by pervasive allegations of vote-buying," Murphy told reporters. He also singled out the mistrust between political parties and the current economic difficulties as negative developments.

CAPE TOWN (Reuters) - United Bank for Africa expects to make at least half of its pretax profit outside Nigeria within the next two years as most of its African operations become profitable, its chief executive told Reuters.

The bank is also in discussions with regulators in Britain to convert its banking licence to allow it to offer retail services there, Phillips Oduoza said in an interview on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum on Africa.

UBA had initially set a target of 2017 or 2018 for earning 50 percent of its pretax profit outside Nigeria, Africa's biggest oil producer. But Oduoza said the bank was likely to meet that goal much earlier than planned.

"I believe that we should be able to exceed that 50 (percent) by 2015," Oduoza said. "Today, in terms of earnings, we're talking of Africa contributing about 23 percent. The good thing is that most of the African operations have entered into profit. By the end of this year all of them should be in profit."

Oduoza said the bank, which has operations in 19 African countries including Ghana, Kenya, Liberia and Mozambique, was "not very bullish" about entering new markets, but wanted to focus instead on building up its existing operations.

However, the exception was Angola, the continent's No. 2 oil exporter, which is forecast to grow by around 6 percent this year. UBA applied for a banking licence in Angola four years ago but authorities have been slow in granting approval, he said.

FASTER GROWTH

"Angola is growing faster than most of sub-Saharan Africa," Oduoza said. "The opportunities there are quite substantial ... The other good thing about Angola is that a lot of the oil majors that have relationships with UBA also operate in Angola."

UBA was still interested in entering South Africa but would only do so after Africa's biggest economy eases restrictions on Nigerians visiting the country.

During a state visit to South Africa by Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan this week, the two countries signed an agreement allowing visas of up to three years for Nigerian citizens who hold diplomatic and official passports.

"Nigeria has allowed South African companies to operate in Nigeria without any problem. South Africa somehow is a bit skeptical about Nigerian companies," Oduoza said.

He added that UBA had reached an advanced stage in its discussions with Africa's wealthiest individual, billionaire Nigerian industrialist Aliko Dangote, on a strategic partnership to provide his cement business with banking services.

"In a very short time we are going to see that translate into proper action," he said. "It's likely to be this year."

UBA was also seeking to offer retail banking services in Britain, where it has an investment banking and asset management affiliate, and was in talks to convert its existing licence, Oduoza said.

PHOENIX (Reuters) - The death penalty phase in the trial of Jodi Arias, the California woman convicted of first-degree murder in the brutal slaying of an ex-boyfriend, has been postponed until May 15, court officials said on Thursday.

An Arizona jury on Wednesday found Arias guilty of murdering 30-year-old Travis Alexander, whose body was found in the shower of his Phoenix valley home in June 2008. He had been shot in the face, stabbed nearly 30 times, and his throat had been slashed.

Arias, who was put on suicide watch and moved to a psychiatric unit after the verdict, had been due in court on Thursday to begin the part of her trial in which a jury will decide whether she deserves to be executed by lethal injection.

But the proceedings were postponed, and are now due to resume at 10 a.m. (1700 GMT) on Wednesday. Court officials tweeted that trial proceedings were sealed on Thursday, but gave no reason for the postponement.

A spokesman for the Maricopa County Attorney's Office said Arias and her counsel had held a closed meeting with Judge Sherry Stephens.

"After that meeting, the details of which are under seal, Judge Stephens canceled court for the day without providing a reason," spokesman Jerry Cobb said.

A call to defense attorney Kirk Nurmi was not immediately returned.

Arias, 32, had tried to convince the jury during her four-month trial that she had acted in self-defense after Alexander attacked her because she had dropped his camera while taking photographs of him in the shower.

She teared up as the jury's decision was read while a crowd of hundreds erupted into cheers outside the court. Jurors could have convicted Arias of a lesser crime such as second-degree murder or manslaughter, but instead found her guilty of the most serious charge possible.

The trial, which aired graphic evidence including a sex tape and photographs of the blood-spattered crime scene, became a sensation on cable television news with its tale of an attractive and soft-spoken young woman charged with a brutal crime.

'THE ULTIMATE FREEDOM'

In a television interview moments after the verdict, Arias indicated that she preferred a death sentence to life in prison. The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office later moved Arias to a jail psychiatric facility after placing her on suicide watch on Wednesday.

"The worst outcome for me would be natural life. I would much rather die sooner than later," Arias, speaking slowly and calmly, said in an interview with Fox affiliate KSAZ.

"I said years ago I'd rather get death than life and that still is true today. I believe death is the ultimate freedom, so I'd rather just have my freedom as soon as I can get it," she said.

In a separate development on Thursday, the sheriff's office said deputies arrested a man suspected of tweeting that he was going to put a bomb in the courtroom where Arias' case was being heard.

Laquint Cherry, 18, was booked into jail on a felony charge related to acts of terrorism. Sheriff's office spokesman Joaquin Enriquez said no explosive device was found at the court and that the trial postponement was not related to the threat. In the next phase of the trial, the prosecution will present evidence trying to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that aggravating factors exist that merit the death penalty. The defense can also present rebuttal evidence. The decision will then be up to the jury.

Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery said the state planned to present "evidence to prove the murder was committed in an especially heinous, cruel or depraved manner."

Nurmi has argued that the one-time waitress snapped in the "sudden heat of passion" in the moments between a photograph she took showing Alexander alive and taking a shower, and a subsequent picture of his apparently dead body covered in blood.

Moyes is leaving Everton to join the 20-time English champions. He has a six-year contract and will take charge of the newly crowned Premier League champs on July 1.

"It's a great honor to be asked to be the next manager of Manchester United," Moyes said in a statement. "I am delighted that Sir Alex saw fit to recommend me for the job. I have great respect for everything he has done and for the football club."

Ferguson announced on Wednesday he is retiring after nearly 27 years at Old Trafford.

"I know how hard it will be to follow the best manager ever, but the opportunity to manage Manchester United isn't something that comes around very often and I'm really looking forward to taking up the post next season."

The 50-year-old Moyes is replacing the most successful manager in British soccer history. Ferguson produced 13 of United's 20 English titles and a string of other titles, including two European Cups.

Moyes' arrival should help ensure a smooth transition, with the managing job passing from one Scotsman to another. The 71-year-old Ferguson remains at United as a director.

"When we discussed the candidates that we felt had the right attributes we unanimously agreed on David Moyes," Ferguson said. "David is a man of great integrity with a strong work ethic. I've admired his work for a long time and approached him as far back as 1998 to discuss the position of assistant manager here."

The former Celtic player made the switch to management at Preston North End in 1998. His club was promoted to the League Championship two years later.

He joined Everton in 2002 and turned the Merseyside club from a relegation contender into a regular qualifier for European competition. In 2005, he guided the club into the qualifying rounds of the Champions League.

Ferociously ambitious and with a sharp eye for emerging talent, Moyes has kept Everton near the top of the Premier League despite limited money to attract the best players.

"There is no question he has all the qualities we expect of a manager at this club," Ferguson said.

Moyes has shown loyalty and staying power in his 11 years with Everton attributes that should suit him well in his next job. United is trying to avoid any radical changes to its structure after Ferguson joins the boardroom when the season ends.

United is owned by the Glazer family, which will be relying on Moyes to maintain the club as a force in global soccer. In particular, it wants to make sure the team can service debts of $572 million, according to the latest financial results.

"His hard-working style and steely determination are characteristics we value at the club," co-chairman Joel Glazer said. "He has impressed as a coach for many years now and we strongly believe he will be able to take up from where Alex is leaving off by continuing this club's tradition of flair football played by exciting, world class players."

As well as his league titles and European Cups, Ferguson has won five FA Cups, four League Cups and the 2008 FIFA Club World Cup.

"I have always said that we wanted the next manager to be a genuine Manchester United man," said former United striker Bobby Charlton, who is now a club director. "In David Moyes, we have someone who understands the things that make this such a special club.

"We have secured a man who is committed to the long-term and will build teams for the future as well as now. Stability breeds success. David has tremendous strength of character and recognizes the importance of bringing young players through and developing them alongside world class talent. At United, I think David will be able to express himself."

The league suspended Blackmon on Tuesday for the first four games of the 2013 season for his second violation in less than a year. He will not get paid for the four-week hiatus. Maybe more importantly, the suspension triggers language in his contract that voids future guarantees.

Now, the Jaguars could cut him without having to pay about $10 million that remains on a four-year, $18.5 million contract.

"It's very disappointing," general manager Dave Caldwell said on a conference call with reporters. "We understand that this isn't all going to be an upward trend and we're going to have setbacks. To be honest with you, things like this are frustrating because it's an avoidable situation. That's what's real concerning and frustrating. At the end of the day, we're going to have 53 players on our team on opening day and we're just moving forward and we're not slowing down."

It's Blackmon's third substance-related incident in less than three years. He was arrested on a misdemeanor DUI charge in Texas in 2010 after officers caught him speeding on a suburban Dallas highway. The charge was later reduced to an underage alcohol possession charge. A little more than a month after the Jaguars traded up to select the former Oklahoma State star with the fifth overall pick in last year's draft, he was arrested during a traffic stop in Stillwater, Okla., after a breath test allegedly showed his blood alcohol content to be three times the legal limit.

That arrest landed him the NFL's substance-abuse program.

It's unclear what caused his second violation, but it could have been a failed drug test.

"He realizes he's at a crossroad, not only in his career but in his life," Caldwell said. "We do not anticipate his level of accountability to be any different than anybody else in this franchise, including myself."

Blackmon vowed last June that getting in trouble is "not who I'm going to be."

He found himself apologizing again Tuesday.

"I've made a mistake and I have no excuse," he said in a statement. "I am truly sorry and disappointed in myself for putting the Jaguars in this situation, and I look forward to putting this behind me and maturing and growing as a person. I will have a productive training camp and preseason with my team, and during the suspension, I will work hard to stay in top football shape and be ready to help the Jaguars when I return.

"I have chosen to be accountable for my poor decision, and I sincerely apologize to my teammates, coaches, the front office and Jaguars fans for the impact of my mistake on the team."

Blackmon, who caught 64 passes for 865 yards and five touchdowns as a rookie, will miss games against Kansas City, Oakland, Seattle and Indianapolis. He will be eligible to return to practice Monday, Sept. 30. He will be allowed to attend meetings and be inside the facility during the suspension, but can't practice or play.

"We are here to help and support him," Caldwell said. "There's only so much we can do under the CBA in terms of helping a player. At some point in time, these players have to help themselves and take care of themselves."

Caldwell declined to say when the Jaguars learned about Blackmon's suspension or the possibility of it.

The Jaguars seemingly had an indication before the draft. They selected former South Carolina receiver/punt returner Ace Sanders in the fourth round and former Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson in the fifth. Robinson will be used at running back and slot receiver.

Jacksonville also has Mohamed Massaquoi, Jordan Shipley, Taylor Price and others vying for the starting spot opposite Cecil Shorts III.

"We know that we're not going to have 53 angelic players," Caldwell said. "But there's no excuse for not doing the right thing. These guys were young guys in college; now they're professionals, they're a reflection of the Jacksonville Jaguars and our community here and we don't take this thing lightly."

Spike Albrecht of Michigan and Luke Hancock of Louisville came off their respective benches and each made all four of their 3-point attempts Monday night, as the Wolverines took a 38-37 lead after a breakneck first half in the national title game.

Albrecht had 17 points at halftime and still hasn't missed in nine attempts from beyond the arc during the NCAA tournament.

Hancock, who led Louisville with 20 points in its semifinal victory, had 16 at halftime of this one.

Albrecht, a freshman who averages less than eight minutes and two points a game because he plays behind AP Player of the Year Trey Burke, was 6 of 7 overall from the floor.

Burke scored seven points over the first 2:44 for the Wolverines to match his entire output from Saturday night's semifinal. But he drew his second foul with 11:09 and coach John Beilein replaced him with Albrecht.

Good call. The freshman from Crown Point, Ind., hasn't missed a 3-pointer since March 3. Before this game, he had only scored 67 points all season.

Meanwhile, Hancock made all four of his 3-pointers to start a 14-1 run for Louisville that briefly gave the Cardinals a one-point lead after they trailed by 12. Michigan's Glenn Robinson III made two free throws with 2 seconds left to give the Wolverines the lead at the half.

The Cardinals (34-5) have won four games this season after trailing by 10 or more, including Saturday night's semifinals, when they beat Wichita State 72-68 after also falling behind by 12.

It was a scintillating opening to the final act of a season that has been more of a grind, with scoring at its lowest (67.49 points per team) since 1951-52 and shooting at its worst (43.3 percent) since 1964-65.

The 131.2-points-per-game average during March Madness is the lowest since the 3-point line was brought to the game in 1987, though the teams were on pace to easily surpass that after the first half.

"Look at the story lines out there," Beilein said during a quick interview at halftime. "It's going to be one of the best games ever."

Watching from the stands were all five members of the Fab Five, the brash group of sophomores who led Michigan (31-7) to the final in 1993 the program's last appearance at the Final Four.

That included Chris Webber, who infamously called a timeout the Wolverines didn't have at the end of Michigan's 77-71 loss to North Carolina in the 1993 final. He has had very little to do with his alma mater in recent years, but was seen getting out of his car and heading into the Georgia Dome shortly before tip-off.

Top-seeded Louisville is trying to bring its first title back to the state of Kentucky's "other" school since 1986. Sitting on the bench with the Cardinals is sophomore guard Kevin Ware, the team's inspiration since snapping his tibia in the regional final last weekend.

Cardinals coach Rick Pitino is working the sideline hours after being chosen for the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame. Pitino is trying to become the first coach to lead two programs to national championships. He took Kentucky to the title in 1996.

Russ Smith, the Louisville team leader who Pitino has nicknamed "Russdiculous" for some of his wild and wildly effective antics on the court, scores 18.9 points a game for the Cardinals during the season but has picked up the scoring in the tournament, averaging 25 in the five Louisville wins.

The Cardinals are playing without their main reserve, Ware, who broke his leg in the regional final against Duke. Needing a pickup without Ware, Hancock led the scoring against Wichita State. And rarely used walk-on Tim Henderson made two key 3-pointers during the comeback.

"The other night, we were not going to play in the championship game unless a walk-on steps up and makes a play to give us momentum," Pitino said in a pregame interview.

Michigan topped Syracuse 61-56 on Saturday despite an off night from Burke, who finished with only seven points on 1-for-8 shooting.

Burke, a sophomore, seriously considered leaving for the NBA after last season but decided he had unfinished business left in Ann Arbor. He picked up the AP Player of the Year award, among others, and is now one victory away from the ultimate prize in college hoops.

Before leaving the locker room, Beilein gave his team a pep talk: "You play with poise, play with confidence, you do all those things today and we're going to have one heck of a celebration," he said.

Kirstine Stewart, the CBC's executive vice-president of English services, will leave immediately and a recruitment process for her replacement has been launched.

Stewart, an avid Twitter user herself, said she was named managing director of Twitter Canada and will remain in Toronto to open Twitter's first offices in the country.

"It is a fact of life in a competitive, creative business that when you have great people, others will try to entice them away with big opportunities," CBC Chief Executive Hubert Lacroix said in a statement announcing the departure.

CBC has struggled to maintain its programming, particularly in television, since the federal government slashed its funding by 10 percent last year.

While the CBC does get some revenue from commercial advertising, it relies heavily on government funding to produce its English- and French-language television, radio and online content.

Twitter has hired Stewart, one of the most influential executives in Canadian media, at a time when it is aggressively courting the traditional media industry as part of its growth strategy.

The San Francisco-based social media company, which makes money by selling advertising, has sought deals with television producers and marketers to encourage TV viewers to discuss programming and ads on Twitter. That, in turn, could help drive up ratings for broadcasters.

Many popular TV programs, for instance, display "hashtags" that tell users how to chat with other viewers on Twitter while they simultaneously watch the show.

"It's a very symbiotic partnership that Twitter can have with broadcasters," Stewart said by telephone on Monday. "I'm looking forward to starting our office and looking for those partnerships, those opportunities. Twitter's unique position is in that conversation around content."

The company, which is widely expected to hold a public stock offering within the next two years, will make just shy of $600 million in revenue this year, according an estimate by research firm eMarketer.

A hearing Tuesday began the process of determining if and how the records kept by religious orders such as the Jesuits, Vincentians, Salesians and Dominicans, among others, will be made public.

Attorneys for several orders said they weren't ready to release any files. They question whether they are even obligated to do so under a $660 million settlement signed in 2007 with more than 500 alleged victims of priest molestation.

A judge wants all the orders to submit their positions in advance of a May 28 hearing.
