２ヶ月くらい休眠中でした。久しぶりのブログです。尖閣問題で最近愛国心が強くなりました。産経新聞を読むたび，そんな気持ちになります。中国帝国主義の弱い国いじめはもうたくさん！チベット族もウイグル族もひどい弾圧を受けているのだろうなあ。本当にひどい国になったもんだ。周恩来と現主席・首相は尊敬していたのに・・・

気持ちを変えて，心の故郷出水の紹介です。

In Izumi,a number of samurai residence remain.Bordering with Higo(presentaly Kumamoto)and facing the Shiranui Sea,Izumi was a strategically important point both in terms of land and marine traffic.

In 1599,the Satsuma Clan selected brave samurai from every corner of the domain to construct a community of residences which also served as a fortress with trees planted on the stone walls surrounding the community.

This turned out to be the largest tojo(local castle)in the Satsuma domain.

Young men in the local community were trained both physically and mentally to prepare foy contingency under the "law for training young men in Izumi".Even now,educatin of the young in this district is based on this law.The community is large in scale,with a total area reaching 60ha and accommodating 150 homes.The beatiful stone walls,samurai residences,and gates convey the image of the samurai community of the Satsuma Clan to the present day.

Finally,about over 10,000 craines arrive in Izumi in late October,there to remains until late February of the following year.

武家屋敷等歴史的にも出水はたくさん魅力がありますが，何と言っても出水は万羽鶴の渡来地ということと，新幹線が止まる駅だということが誇りでもあります。

　ずっとＲＡＩＮＹ　ＳＥＡＳＯＮ梅雨が続いています。今日も激しいどしゃ降りでした。

日本人ならみんな知っているはずの西郷隆盛だが国外にはあまり知られていないのかなと思うので，ここはぜひ紹介したい。

　Kagoshima's proud,defiant sprit is embodied, in itsu favorite son,Saigo Takamori,a 19th-century samurai who led the unsuccessful Satsuma Rebellion.The inspiration for the film,The Last Samurai,the real man was complex and,judging by his bronze image in the centre of Kagoshima,rather more corpulent than his movie avater.There is another stunning remnant of samurai culture at Chiran,south of the city,where a group of samurai houses and gardens form one of the most attractive streets in Japan.(from MONOCLE)

Yakusugi is one of the most precious woods of the world. Only cedar trees over 1,000 years old are called Yakusugi.

Yakusugi is very hard,beautifully grained.,and abundant in resin and nearly impervious to decay. High-class furniture and craft wares are made with Yakusugi.(鹿児島県観光連盟・外国人接客用ハンドブックより）

我が家の化粧台も亡き義理の父から頂いた屋久杉産です。

屋久島は行って絶対損のない島だけど，島の自然を保護する上では，むしろあまり宣伝しない方がいいのかも。そこのところが難しい。

私のfavorite焼酎の簡単な紹介です。

　Good either with water,hot or cold,or on the rocs.Shochu made from sweeet potatoes is so tasty that you will be tempted to try it again.Shochu is agreeable to the palate and makes you comfortably relaxed.It is fast becoming a drinkers' favorite all around Japan.(鹿児島県観光連盟「外国人接客用ハンドブック」より）

冬はお湯割り，夏は水割が最高！Shochu うーんマンダム！おすすめはやっぱり幻の焼酎伊佐美かな？

Thanks largely to its geographical isolation,Kagoshima has a long history of indifference to centoral gaovernment and a curiosity about the outside world unmatched by other Japanese cities.It was the first point of contact between Japan and the West when Poryuguese sailors washed up on its shores in 1543.When the Spanish missionary St Francis Xavier arrived here in 1549,he promptly signed up a crowd of converts and predicted-wrongly-that Japan would be fertile territory for Christianity.

当然のことだけど，ザビエルもカトリック布教が最大の目的だったんだね。

For 700 years the Satsuma region was ruled by the powerful and intriguing Shimazu clan.Whwn the country was closed to the outoside world,the Shimazu defined the ban to send a group of studentss to England to find out more about the West.Today,their house and beautifulu 17th-centary garden,Sengan-en,are one of the most visited sites in Kagoshima.A museum celebrates the clan's industorial endeavours as they experimented with everything from firearms to cut glass.(from MONOCLE issue45, 2011)

鹿児島の紹介で必ず出てくるのがこの仙巌園（礒庭園）地区でしょう。仙巌園のガイドマップから英語で紹介します。

Ｔｈｅ Iso district ,in the nothern part of Kagoshima City,contains a number of historic sites,including the Sengan'en garden (a nationally registered scenic beauty and cultural site 国指定名勝文化財）;鹿児島紡績所跡　the Kagoshima Cotton Mill,the first cloth-making factory in Japan;異人館　the foreign residence area,created to house British technicians aiding with the cloth factory (designated as a nationally important culutural property国指定重要文化財);旧公爵島津家吉野植林所事務所　Formaer duke shimadzu's Yoshino Reforestation Office (designated as a nationally important culutural propaerty);and 旧公爵島津家芹ケ野金山事務所Formaer Duke Shimadzu's Serigano gold Mine Office(designated as a natinally important culutural propaerty).We hope that you enjoy the Iso area,wandering among the magnificent views of Sakurajima and Kinko Bay,the site of the foundation for the modernization of Japan.（from guide map of Sengan'en)

という表現を何回も使っていたところです。会話にアクセントやリズム感を感じることでした。
