なんと！　このブログと被りまくりではないですか！

昨日からアクセスが一気に増えていて、何事かしら？と思っていたのですが、

アンケートがあるから、みなさん福山みやげを探していらっしゃたのですね。

このブログは、この春に始めたばかりで

季節にそって　おみやげをご案内しようと思っているので

数ある福山みやげのほんの数点しかまだご案内できておりません。

だから、あんまり参考にならなくてごめんなさい。

私が「おみやげ」をテーマにブログを書こうと思ったのは

福山を紹介したいから、という気持ちが一番強いです。

福山に観光客を呼ぼうといろいろな試みがなされていますが、

大金をはたいて大掛かりな施設を作るよりは

てみやげひとつでできる福山紹介の方がよほど効果があると私は思うのです。

福山のいろんなお店で、

福山にちなんだいろんな商品が作られて販売されています。

なにげなく思う商品名にも

福山への思いが込められているものが多くあります。

福山の方がてみやげを購入するときや

福山へ遊びに来られる方がおみやげを購入するときに

福山のものを買って

それが、どういう由来でそのおみやげになっているのか

教えてあげたいなあ、と思ってブログを書いています。

今回はなんだか日頃の思いのようなことを書いてしまいました。

また次回からはおみやげを紹介していきますので

今後ともみなさまどうぞよろしくお願いいたします。

鞆の浦の保命酒をたっぷり使ってつくられたマロンドールの保命酒ケーキ「仙酔仙人」。

“Sensui Sen-nin” is a pound cake contain liquor Houmeisyu which local special product of Tomonoura.

商品名の由来は、鞆の浦に浮かぶ仙酔島。風光明媚な景色に仙人も酔ってしまったという言い伝えから、この島は仙酔島と呼ばれています。

The name of this cake is coming from Sensuijima Island in Tomonoura. “Sensuijima” means the island of get drunk. According to legend, one of the hermit enjoyed lovely views at Sensuijima like got drunk.

封をきるとふわぁっと甘い保命酒の香りが漂います。保命酒の甘さと風味がパウンドの生地とよく調和した、やさしい味のお菓子です。

瀬戸内に初夏が訪れる5月の終り、弁天島の空に花火が打ち上げられます。対岸には夜店が軒を連ね、海上に映える多彩なイルミネーションは瀬戸内の港町ならではの情緒をかもし出します。

In the end of May, when early summer comes to the Seto Inland Sea, fireworks are displayed in the sky of Bentenjima Island. There are night stalls open on the opposite shore, and the colorful illumination reflected on the sea lends a unique atmosphere to this port town.

※アイヤ節とは？

江戸中期北前船に運ばれてきてにぎわいを見せていた出船・入船の際に唄い踊り継がれた。現在では、観光鯛網の際に楽しむことが出来る。

What is Aiya song ?

It is a local folk song in Edo Period that the people created a feering of welcoming to merchant ship in port. Nowadays, we can see this performance at Sea Bream fishing show in Tomonoura.

御菓子所　勉強堂のばら饅頭は、福山市の　市の花　であるバラをモチーフにしたお饅頭です。とってもかわいらしいバラの形をしています。半分に割ると、こしあんが顔を出します。味は、もみじ饅頭にそっくりです。

Bara Manju is a sponge cake contains bean paste. It shaped rose flower which is city flower of Fukuyama. It is quite similar to Momiji Manju.

5月19・20日のバラ祭では、緑町公園のふくやま特産品コーナーにテントを出して、このばら饅頭も販売されます。バラ祭に来られる際は、是非立ち寄ってみてはいかがでしょうか？

瀬戸内の海の幸をおみやげにするなら、阿藻珍味の鯛ちくわはいかがでしょうか？

プリッとした歯ごたえで、お酒のつまみにも最高です。

I will recommend Tai Chikuwa as the souvenirs of seafoods of Inland Sea. Chikuwa is a tube-shaped fish paste sausage. The Tai Chikuwa is made from sea bream which is local specially of Tomonoura.

鞆の浦を望む山腹に、阿藻珍味　鯛匠の郷　という施設があります。ここは阿藻珍味の工場で、見学や体験もできるようになっています。鯛ちくわの「手にぎり体験」は１本２００円で出来ます。

The Amo Chinmi Processed Seafoods Company has its factory and shop at Tomonoura. Walk along the shoreline for about 10 minutes from the harbor. In the factory, you can watch the workers making prawn senbei(rice cracker) and chikuwa, and even have a go at making them yourself.

鞆の浦のおみやげとして忘れてならないのが「保命酒」。生薬を含んだ薬用酒です。

One of the most important souvenir of Tomonoura is Houmeisyu. It is medicinal liquor held natural crug drugs.

その歴史は古く江戸時代にさかのぼります。大阪の医師中村吉兵衛が考案した薬用酒を、備後国鞆の中村家が独占的に製造・販売していました。明治時代になると複数の業者が類似の薬用酒を製造し、保命酒と称して販売しました。中村家の保命酒は製造方法を門外不出としたまま廃業したため、正確な成分は分かっていませんでした。しかし2006年、中村家で古文書が見つかり保命酒の製法が明らかになりました。中村家で作られていた保命酒は、地黄・当帰・梅花など13種類の生薬に、焼酎・もち米・麹を加えて16種とし、「十六味地黄保命酒」を正式名称としていました。

Houmeisyu has longest history goes back to the Edo Period. Nakamura Kichibe, he was a doctor lived in Osaka, has contrived the medicinal liquor. His relative Nakamura family who lived in Tomonoura brewed and sold that liquor exclusively. In the Meiji Period, some vendors brewed similar liquor and they named the liquor “Houmeisyu”. Nobody knew about original Nakamura’s recipe, because Nakamura family closed them business keep a secret.

Thought, in 2006, the method for manufacturing has become clear by ancient text of Nakamura family. The original Nakamura’s Houmeisyu held 13 kinds of natural crug drags plus distilled spirit, glutinous rice and rice malt, thereby it consist 16 materials. Legal name of Houmeisyu means “the medicinal liquor held in 16 tastes natural crug drugs”.

国の重要文化財の指定を受けている太田家住宅は、もとは中村家の屋敷であったものを明治時代に太田家が所有するようになった建物です。主屋、保命酒醸造蔵など9棟からなり、当時の生活をしのぶことができます。

“Ota Residence”, appointed national cultural assets, is originally residence of Nakamura family in past days. “Ota Residence” located at central of Tomonoura. It consists 9 buildings, main buildings, brewery house, store house.

現在、鞆の浦では4社が保命酒を製造・販売しています。中村家の製造方法が分からなかったため、各社ともそれぞれに試行錯誤を繰り返して出来上がった保命酒です。当然、その味は各社ともに異なります。各社ともに蔵で試飲ができるので、町並み散策のついでに立ち寄って、味くらべをしてみて下さいね。

Now, there are 4 breweries in Tomonoura. Each of Houmeisyu has different tastes because they did not know original recipe. You can visit breweries. Please enjoy tasting!

４月２８日から鞆の浦で観光鯛網が始まります。

そこで、鯛にちなんだおみやげ、

虎屋本舗の「桜鯛せんべい」。

The famous feature in Tomo-no-ura besides beautiful scenery and numerous historic sites is the sea bream performed in May. It’s traditional fishing style that conveys the methods developed over 370 years ago. “Sakuradai Senbei” derives from this event.

Tai (sea bream) is believed to be a fish that brings good luck, because its name sounds like “medetai”(happy) .
