ポリオ撲滅に向けて始動　
　1979年9月、国際ロータリーは、フィリピンで、生後3か月から36か月の子ども約600万人に対して、5か年計画のポリオ免疫活動を始めました。これが、ロータリーかポリオ撲滅に取り組んだ第一歩です。
1985年、国際ロータリーでは、ロータリー創始80周年に当たって、「ポリオ・プラス計画」を発表。　日本国内では、募金総額40億円を最終目標として、1986年7月から、5年計画のポリオ・プラスの募金キャンペーンが始まりました。日本中のロータリアンの積極的に取り組み、このキャンペーンが展開されていた1986年7月から1991年6月までの5年間で、目標額をはるかに超える約49億円の寄付金を集めることができました。
国際ロータリーでは、1989年6月までの3年間をキャンペーン期間としていましたが、この間で米貨2億4,700万ドル（約270億円）を集めました。これは目標額の2倍に相当します。http://www.rotary.or.jp/

こんな偉い先生と私がどうして一緒にお話する機会を得て、ゲストスピーカーとしてお話していただく事ができたのでしょう。そのきっかけは先生がおつくりになったＭＵＮＥクラブが作ってくれたのです。

これは日本語と英語を使って両方の文化を学び友好を深めるルのを目的とした会話クラブなのです。

私はここでお世話役を１０年以上しているのです。その事もあって先生とお話をする機会を得ることができたのです。

恐れ多いかもしれませんが先生もものを申す外交官が必要であるおっしゃっています。

レベルは違いますが私もシドニーにいて日本の美徳である言わずにわかってもらえるというのはこちらでは通用しないと子供に教えていますし。こちらでは自分の意見をはっきりと言う必要があるとも教えています。。。。

そして今長男は討論会のコーチ、ディベートのコーチ、をしています。

次男も学校でディベートがあるタームはディベートをしています。

私もオーストラリアの人に自分の意見を伝えます。友達はＳａｔｏｍｉはもうオージーみたいね。

といわれていますが。。。。。。ジャパラリア人

レベルは違っても物申すというのは共通する点があるのでは？？？

と勝手に思っているのですが。。。。

親のできる事！！

子供が自分でサバイブできるように教える事！！と私は思っています。

３月１７日セミナーでは今まで学校でも学ばなかった事実を学ぶ事が出来きました。

日本人、オーストライア人、バックグランドの違う国々の人達が同じテーマのセミナーで時間を共有する事ができ

様々に考え方、受け止め方、を知る事ができた日でも有りました。

私は未来志向です。

過去は過去もちろん過去の真実の歴史を知る事葉とても大切な事

そこからではこれからどうすればよくなるのかを考え行動につなげていく事が大切だと思います。

私は次回のＨｕｇくむのセミナーは、保育園、幼稚園、小学校をテーマにしたチャリティー教育セミナーをしたいと考えています。どうぞお楽しみに！！！

私の旅はこれからも未来に向かって続きます。皆さんもご一緒に旅をしてください。

The First Seminar

“Exploring Japan’s Forgotten Decade: Japan’s Diplomacy in the 1920s”

Saturday March 17th 2012

Guest speaker : Misuzu Hanihara Chow, PhD, formerly the Head of Japanese Studies and Director of the Japanese Studies Centre at Macquarie University.

In her talk, Dr Haninara Chow will explore events of the 1920s by following the proceedings of the 1919 Paris Conference where Japan proposed the “Racial Equality Bill”, the 1921-22 Washington Conference, and the passing in the US of the immigration law that specifically excluded Japanese. She will refer to her recent book, The Diplomat who fought against the Japanese Exclusion Immigration Law: Japan’s Diplomacy in 1920s and the work of the Ambassador Plenipotentiary to the United States, Masanao Hanihara. Published by Fujiwara Shoten 2011. 

Place: The Japan Foundation, Level 1 Chifley Plaza, 2 Chifley Square, Sydney
