Yōroppaken is a long-established Western-style restaurant in Fukui Prefecture with over 100 years of history. 

It is known as the origin of sauce katsudon.


They dip a thin pork cutlet in sauce and put it on rice.

It is loved by locals and tourists.


I bought this sauce when I traveled to Fukui Prefecture.



The sauce tastes a little sweet and slightly sour from spices.

It also feels a bit nostalgic.

It is very addictive.




I want to eat a it again.


Today was a happy day because I got to eat something delicious again.

I will start writing an English diary to remember her birthday.


Today is my mother’s birthday. 

She is 81 years old. 

I will start writing an English diary to remember her birthday.



Recently, she has some dementia-like symptoms, so I am very worried.



She is cheerful and social, but she sometimes feels lonely.




I hope she stays well and has a happy life.








I ate Tosa buntan for dessert at lunch.



It is sweet, sour, and a little bitter. It is my favorite fruit.

I had jasmine tea.

I put tea leaves and hot water in a Chinese cup with a lid. The smell is very nice.







I had a coffee break with a cinnamon roll and coffee.




The fresh cinnamon roll was soft and very delicious.



Cinnamon, sugar, and walnuts go very well together.

The coffee was Floral Mocha from Kaldi.

It has a nice balance of sourness and bitterness. 

It is one of my favorite coffees.
