今日は日本語で書こうと思う。って言ってもしばらく書いてなかったんだけどね。

将来のことにつぃて考えてみました。こどもの頃は大きくなったら～になりたいって言ってて、でもまだまだ先のこととしか思ってなかった。高校、大学でもまだまだ仕事のこと考えるのはいいやって感じだった。別に間違ったことじゃないと思う。

２１歳になって少し考えるようになって、最初は大きな企業に入って稼ぎたいって考えたりもした。教師になりたいって思ったりもした。いろんな業界をちょっとだけ調べてみたけど、心をひかれるようなのはなかった。あんま調べる気分にもなれなかったというのが本音。出版社、広告業にはちょっと魅かれたかな。

結局２～３年後の自分を想像した時に教師になっているところしか想像できないんだよね。この間、初めて教師の自分の夢をみた。全然内容覚えてない(笑)

将来なにすると？って聞かれて、教師っていうのが何となく自分の中で恥ずかしかった。教育関係の人たちから教師になるにはもったいないって言われて調子に乗って、企業＞教師っていう考え方が無意識に頭の中でできていたのかもしれない。

ここ最近よく考えるようになって、教師になりたいって堂々と言えるようになってきたと思う。お世辞じゃなくて、いい教師になれるよって言ってくれる人もいた。言われた時嬉しかったな。

なかなか結論に行かないから無理やり持っていきます。

日本に帰ったら教師目指して勉強しようと思う。まずは教員採用試験、それから私立の中高。

採用試験は高校英語で受けようと思う。私立は県内で、できれば専任教諭として採用してくれるとこ。母校の筑陽で教師しながら、中等部のサッカー部の顧問ってのもありやし、西南中高、福岡上智、リンデンホール中高は英語に力をいれているから魅力的。

教員採用試験！中高までゆるくしか勉強してなくて、自分の学力がどれくらいかわからないし、英語だけしかできなかない僕だけど頑張ってみようかと思う。

もし教師になってまた学びたいと思うようなことがあったら大学院に行きたい。学費を払える目安がついてからだけど。本当の憧れは大学の教授なんだよね。西南では、宮原先生が、BaylorではDr. Blair Brownig, Dr. Batyが僕の教師像かな。

就活もしてみたくなったらしようと思う。たぶんしないけど。めんどくさがりだからね(笑)

日本に帰ったら長い春休みが待ってるし、そこでしっかり勉強しろよ。あと英語とコミュニケーション学、リーダーシップの勉強もしようと思う。バイトはいつも通り、無理しない。大学の学費、１年間分親払ってもらっているし、大学で学べることが特権であることを忘れずになるべく授業は受けようと思う。１６コマはさすがに入れないけど(笑)

とりあいず将来のことを書いてみた。ぶれるかもしれないけどその時はこの文章を読み返すようにしよう。

とりあいず残りの留学がんばります。

It's already October! I have not wrote this blog for a long time. I was kind of busy studying for my mid terms and speeches and everything. The happy thing was that students from Seinan came to Baylor to preform orchestra. I had a chance to meet them and help them out with their life in America and with English. I became friends with a lot of them and I really want to hang out with them after I went back to Japan.

Today's class, we discussed about transgende in America. The subject was how to teach to a child about gay and lesbian. In America, there are high potential for children of encountering with same sex kisses. I order to let the children be tolerated to those stuff. I never thought about this kind of educating things because in Japan it is not a big issue in Japan yet. I have to think about it though, because when I become a teacher in the future, I definitely have a possibility to cop with this kind of issue.
I think I have to think about it more.

I just booked my air plain back home!! Last day, it took me two hours because my credit card did not work. I called my mother and she suggested me to call the card company. The problem turned out to be very simple. My credit card had a limit of 100000 yen per month. I had already used 70000 yen, so I could not book the flight. I changed the limit to 200000 yen and I try it now and it took me 15 minutes!! What a wonderful world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last class of cross culture communication, we did some kind of labeling experiment. First Dr. Baty said to close our eyes but we all agreed that we don't have to. Dr.Baty says some kind of job or career and we have to think of an image to describe that person. We might be discriminated, so she told us to close our eyes, but we were aware of it and all of us did not care about it. The careers were like, rap star, law enforcer, beauty queen. We attached racial images to the career. Even when black people were getting bad reputation from the career image, they themselves were making fun of it and laughing. I mean, enjoying the class! There was a good atmosphere in the classroom. I was surprised at the students flexibility against race and culture. I think it was a great class!

I am now writing a paper in APA style and learning a lot of things!! Great!

And I just talked with Saki on Skype. I was glad that she was doing well. I kind of miss her but I'm glad that we can meet at new year!

Internalized Oppression occurs when people think their culture is inferior than the dominant culture. I thought that many Japanese people feel this. Some people say, with no reason, Western culture is BETTER! Why? I won't say that Japanese culture is better. Becuase there is an assumption that there is no such thing as BETTER culture. Culture doesn't necessarily mean Nationality, but every social identity, including, sex, gender, age, religion etc. I thought of the reason why many think that way and came up with 3 reasons. First is, because of the media. There are a lot of T.V programs that focuse on Japanese Style of doing thing. Education style, communication style are one of the examples and they have been critisised by many authorities. When people watch these programs, they would automatically assume that Other cultural way of doing thing are better then their own. The second reason I thought was, the affection from Native English speaking teachers who come to Japan to teach English. I'm not saying all of them, but few, like the teacher I had last year, who always said, "Don't be Japanese" He emphasized that American culture is better than Japanese culture. That might be one reason. And the last reason is, young people thinking that American Style is cool. I certainly have this way of thinking. Some people try to assimulate to the culture. It is easy to say I don't like Japanese style when they are accused from other. And people including me do that. I think it is time for Japanese to be proud of being Japanese. Hi!! I started watching "How I met your mother" It is like Friends, but more new and a lot of more romantic relationships. I really want to watch it even after I go back to Japan. I am an Amazon prime member, so I believe that I could watch it in Japan but I not really sure about it. So I have to look it up on.

I hear a lot of news about riot in China. I think we have to look it for different point of views. I think we cannot just say they are wrong. I like harmony.
I'm still good friends with my Chinese friends, so I am glad about that.

I have a speech next week, so wish me luck!!

I will like to pray for the victims of 9/11. The people who were in the plain, people who were working in the two towers which are now gone, and their lovers, family, friends. I will pray so that the hate against Islam will faid.

This tragic is what we cannot forget. That we should not forget. Some times history faids away from our memory, but this sad tragic that only produced hatred should not be forgotten.

My father used to work there. He never told a story about when we went to find his peers, friends.
I pray for the witnesses who are alive that had strugled the pain watching the tower collapsing. The fire fighters, the people, doctors, nurse, every people around the world.

I wish from my heart for peace.
Let harmony be created.

Week end is about to end...

Happy birthday Dad!!
I'm glad that I didn't forget my father's birthday.
I really want to thank him for letting me study in America. There are a lot of things I have to talk about with you when I go back to Japan.

I like my classes so its OK. When I was in elementary schoo, maybe in 5th or 6th grade, I didn't want to go to school on Monday because I wasn't in the mood of going. So what I was doing was, I pretended that I had a head ache or something and just skip school. When ever I pretend to be sick, I really felt I was sick. Really strange thing was going on in my head. I am glad now that the habit of skipping classes on Mondays hadn't continued. If so, I would have ended up not going to university.

When I think about school, I realized that I only have one and a half year left in university. That means I would not be a student any more in one and a half year. It was like yesterday when I first steped into Seinan. Ever thing went fast.
I have to make a decision of my job. It is something that I really have to think about in America.

I'll write here when I make my mind.

Well, on Tuesday, I have a study abroad fare so I'm looking forward to it.

Today at class we talked about education and its relation between history and power. We read and article that said,
There are many people who critisize that Ameria's education is falling down. BUT, it is actually not bad.

we shared opinions like, economical power influencees education because depending on the financial situation, there are people who don't have access to education. And racial dominant group created the educational gap.

I was really surprised that many people think having an university degree makes no difference with others, because nowerdays many people have that degree. They feel negative about education iin America. I thought people here thinks their education system is good and superior to others. It was a stereotype. People here feel the same as people in my home country.

From an outsider point of view, I think students here don't have to pestimistic about their education, because they focus on studying. Many students in Japan, don't study AT ALL! They might say " experiencing a lot of things is more important than studying."

Anyway, I think America has a better education environment that Japan. I mean, not the system, but this "studying taken for granted" atmospher is more an educational environment.

I'm sorry if there are some spellling mistakes. I don't care because I assume that not many people are reading this. I bet Yoko(my sister) is reading.
