All river and creek is out of enter and pay pond season become better for all angler in Japan.

Here is my tackle and my impression about it for pay pond if you are interesting.

Rod
Personaly, I love Loop bland.
Reason is simple that Im doing underhand cast.

Here is my tackle
1 Loop Multi #5
This rod is light weight and action is excellent.
I use this rod to catch over 50cm trout and dont see much problem for it.
My tactical for pay pond is
Loop still water with 4X leader+5X tippet
Just case for big fish that Im using rubber shock between fly line and leader.
My record biggest one is 65CM with 4X+6X tip with this tactical.

2 Loop G3 #5
This rod is more likely gray line and I love old style Loop action so it is my favorite action without weight.
Rod is bit stiff than Multi so it is easy to catch fish.

3 Loop G3 #6
This rod is use for long cast situation.

4 Loop AEG #5(comming soon)

5 Echo Ion #6
Long distance Tim style rod. It is not stiff than loop rod but it is better much with delta shooting head

6 Daiwa Lohomor #7
Long distance and my salmon rod.Action is standard and easy for recruit.

Reel
1 Loop Opti
No word!! Excellent and my best award reel!(have 3 of it)

2 TMC VLA
Strong and fast roll speed is good point for this reel. Cost performance is good too

3 Shimano Freestone
Gear rate is not high as Opti but bearing teck is No1. Gloomis reel is exact same as this reel.

4 Okuma
Good cost performance and excellent gear rate

5 Daiwa Lohomoar
Good looking(Just like robocop) but need more high rate of gear

Next is main topic 'Pay pond tactical and teck7'
It is same as any river and lake so you need to find rise fish and approch them.
But here is big diffrent
1 Match the hatch
They are feed by fishing farm bait. You can tying looks like those so Caps Area worm and those funny bait will work good too
2 Running speed
Not good as nature fish. So bit point will be diffrent. Roll speed should slower than real field

It is good practice stage during close season for fishing.

Just try it out and see how you feel.

As you know all fishing tackle is import from outside of japan so that is main reason for high price.

All of western knows e-bay deal and fishing gear shop in worldwide.
But there is no e-bay so you may try Yahoo Auction site in Japan.

World famouse TMC is popular in Japan.
If you are looking for Japanese gear that is pretty good choice.

Personally, I rearly like Loop brand.
Because my style is under cast and my tactical is based from western style.

For tying flies will be much differ from western.
All of hook will be very tiny and #20, #22 is popular for fresh water fishing in Japan.

It might hard to tying if you done just #10 hook or bigger hook.
But it is good to gain your tying skill so try tying small one.

Hatching pattern will be Chronomid and Adult Chromie is popular in Japan.
You can tying those pattern and you will get some signal from fish for sure.

Fishing shop is all over the train station.
Shibuya, Shinjyuku, Ueno like those large station has lot of fishing shop.
I recommend to try `SANSUI` that is good to get fly fishing gear.
But I sure that you guys will surpprise for how expensive tool is on shop.

If you wanna go regular price that try serch by your own shop in outside of Japan and just get import from them.

There is several diffrent type of pay pond such as creek style, river and pond.

I recommend to try pond style because you can catch monster size trout.

Here is some tactical you may try it on

Rod
#5-#7 is good size

Reel
doesnt matter up to you

Line
WF is good choice but pond is not so big so if you wanna present silent that you just need floating line.

Line system
It is up to size of fish.
I recommend
4x or 5x with 4xtip and 5xtip(Pond type and not clear water)
5x or 6X (Clear pond)
6x or 7x(creek,river clear water)

Fly
You can try
Chronomid
Pumpkin head
Egg
Trout gum(TMC)
Area worm(Caps)
Melty
Soft hachell
Damsell
Elk
Eboless

You may found interesting matterial such as Trout gum that is really common for pay pond in Japan.
It is made by deer skin so you even found any shop who sale skin.
It is cheapest way to get matterial and its save big cash.

Area worm is common and you will found 100yen shop in town.
Just cut off matterial from sheet and you need put fire on cutting side and make it smooth.

Those 2 is killer fly for pay pond.

Price range for pay pond is 3000yen-4500yen for a day ticket.
If you just need to fish 2-3hrs that contact each pay pond and figure out price range.

Best way for search feeding depth will be using indicator and find out depth of feeding point.

I use 9ft long TMC standard leader and strick indicator and set 5ft deapth.
First serch bait is Chronomid or small matterial.
I also do opposite to serch by big bait.

If your indicator has signal from fish that switch to sinking line and try pumpkin head and damsell.

You will feel direct signal from fish and you catch one!

Simply pay pond is good for off season and you will enjoy for sure!

Here is big diffrent in Japan.

All of trout isnt wild trout because it is import from outside of Japan.
Only some of Japanese native trout such as YAMAME,IWANA,AMAGO,BIWA-MASU feed naturm resource from river and lake.

If you try fly fishing in Japan that you should know the feeding pattern of each lake.
Chronomid pattern doesnt work well in Japan.

If you try`Ashinoko`in Hakone area that youll see some big rainbow and Brown but those fish normally feed small bait.
Your best choice fly wil be streammer and small fish pattern most of time.
Reason is simple.Those fish isnt born in Ashinoko. Those fish from farmed fish.

Reason why pay pond become popular in Japan? Because of it.

If youd like to try wild trout that we are strongly recommend to try japanese traditional trout.

YAMAME is popular target for fly fishing angler.
You can catch those fish in creek and river.
It is very tiny fish but use low# rod will be the best choice.

If you are looking for something `Big` that try BIWA-MASU and SAKURA-MASU.
BIWA-MASU is only in Biwa lake in Shiga prefecture and SAKURA=MASU is in any pond or lake if farmed fish is release it.
BIWA-MASU can catch by fly fishing but you need to present your line in deep.
Use fastest sinking line and you might catch.
We strongly surgesst use red core line or down rigger to present your bait in right location in lake.
SAKURA-MASU is easier than BIWA-MASU.
If you try those fish that try troll flies and find depth.
Normally they feed streammer type.

At first
I open my english blog for english speaker.
Hope that will helps to find information about fly fishing situation in Japan.

Also this blog is just for fishing blog but we love to communicate with all fisherman and traveler in Japan.

At this time, Ill try to write my dream for my future.

In Japan there is a lot of place called `Kanri-tsuriba`
its mean pay pond.
You can find on web for serch by 管理釣り場.
Just copy those word and serch.

In the pay pond that you can catch such as
Trout(It is most common)
Black bass
Carp
Hera buna(serch by へら鮒　管理釣り場）
and so on.

Most common target will be trout and it is one of my dream to create pay pond by myself in near future.
