Friday saw the release of the anticipated Pandora Birds of a Feather collection. From the moment the name of the collection was unveiled, most people made educated guesses at the governing theme. This release sees nine new avian themed designs, including the long awaited Pandora stoppers.

Today brings a dedicated review of the new Pandora Gryphon bead; typically intricate and embracing the fantasy theme that many adore from Pandora. I’m a huge fan of the fantasy genre in it’s many Pandora BirthStone Charms. Indeed I was initially attracted to Pandora many years ago by the number of fantasy designs, including that fabulous Dragon Lock. Considering this I was incredibly excited to see a gryphon bead debut as part of Birds of a Feather.

The Pandora Gryphon is majestically posed, capturing the perceived pride of such majestic creatures. Typically of Pandora as a brand, the attention to detail is exquisite. This isn’t a huge bead by Pandora standards and the image below shows it in comparison with the Pandora Bali Hut and Howling Wolf. The latter image shows a comparison between the new Pandora Earrings and my standard size comparison beads; the Pandora Joyful and Bead of the Vikings.

When it came to creating a featured bracelet for this bead, I was keen to embrace a strong fantasy theme. In addition, it gave me the opportunity to use several of my most loved Pandora pieces. I opted to use a mixture of gemstone and Novobeads Mini CZ beads for the colouring in the hope of adding both an organic yet slightly opulent feel; dragons love treasure!
