(Annual event in Louisville, KY: air show and fireworks display)

 

ケンタッキーダービー（今年は５月５日）の前２週間に行われる

ダービーフェスティバルの幕開けです

This is the opening of Darby Festival

which is held 2 weeks before Kentucky Darby (May 5th this year).

 

あいにくの曇り空の中、今年も行ってきましたのでご紹介

It was a cloudy day but we went this year again.

Blue Man Groupを土曜日に見に行ってきました

We went to see Blue Man Group on Saturday in Louisville, KY

where it is about 30 minutes from home.

 

２時間弱のショウでしたが

面白いこと！！

笑いすぎて涙流してました

The show was a littel less than 2 hours

but it was sooooo funny!!

I was laughing so hard that tears were rolling down.

 

 

画質が悪いですが

ステージの後にロビーに出てきて

ファンサービスしてくださいます

Quality of the photo is not great.

after the stage for fans.

 

近くのスーパーに買い物に行ったのですが・・・・

It was just about this time last year,

we went to a nearby grocery store......

そりゃぁ、わが町は

２０１０年の国勢調査によると

人口　６，７４７人という小さな町ですが

According to 2010 Census,

our town is a small town with

population of 6,747.

 

でも、スーパーまでトラクターで？？？

But a tractor to a grocery store???

 

 

日本との時差は１３時間になりました

Daylight Saving Time started on March 11th.

Time difference between here and Japan is now 13 hours.

 

さて、タイトルのウェルカム・サイン・・・・

Well, the Welcome sign in the title......

 

これのことです

This is what I'm talking about.

 

 

年末年始に実家に帰ったときに

母からもらったもの

Got it from my mother

when we went home at the end of last year.

 

なんと、手作りだそうです

It is hand made by my mother.

 

こういうことができる人だなんて

知らなかったです・・・・

I did not know

she can do these things......

 

 

早速お玄関から入ってすぐの壁に

飾ってみました

We put it right inside the front door.

ボーリングのリーグ、相変わらず行ってます

I have not been writing anything about it

but I am still continuing in bowling league.

 

明日、３月２６日は第３０週目

後数週間で冬季リーグも終わりです

Tomorrow, March 26th, is the 30th week

and after a few more weeks, the winter league will be completed.

 

 

さて、１１月の女子トーナメントに続いて

２月２５日と２６日は男女混合トーナメントに参加してきました

Anyways, following the Women's City Tournament in November,

I participated in Open City Tournameng on February 25th and 26th.

 

２５日は個人戦とダブルス、２６日はチーム戦です

ダブルスはリーグで同じチームの女性と組んでの出場

２６日のチーム戦はリーグのチームのメンバーそのまま＜笑＞

We had singles and doubles on the 25th and team competition on the 26th.

I paired with the lady on the same team on the league for the doubles.

Team members on the 26th was the same members as our league members <laugh>

 

結果は The results were

シングル　Singles

第１ゲーム　1st game：１９１
第２ゲーム　2nd game：１７１
第３ゲーム　3rd game：１５５

８０人中９位　9th place out of 80

 

ダブルス　Doubles
第１ゲーム　1st game：１３６
第２ゲーム　2nd game：１６２
第３ゲーム　3rd game：１５０

５０組中２４位　24th place out of 50 pairs

 

夕食を作る気も、食事を食べる気もしませんでした・・・・

We had too much to eat at Chinese Buffet for lunch

and we did not feel like cooking dinner or even eating another meal.....

 

でも一本開けたいというだんな様

Mr. Green Apple still wanted to open a bottle

 

で、こちら

so this is what we decide on.

 

 

食事の変わりに

イチゴ、りんご、ブルーベリー、ラズベリー

このベリー類とブラックベリーをミックスしたフルーツサラダ

チーズ２種にクラッカー

Instead of a meal

we had strawberries, an apple, blueberries, raspberries

fruit salad with these berries and blackberries

2 types of cheeses and crackers

 

たまにはこういうのも悪くないかも

It is not bad to do something like this every now and then.

This winter has been weird.

 

なぜって、例年みたいに寒くならないし

そのせいで雪じゃぁなくって雨ばっかり

この一ヶ月近くは３～４日ごとに雨が降っていた気がします

You ask why?  That's because it has not been as cold as other winters

and because of that, we are having more rain than snow.

It seems that we had rain almost every 3-4 days.

 

そりゃぁ、この記事を書いたころはすっごく寒かったけど・・・・

その後、最高気温が氷点下になってません

それどころか、春先みたいな気温が続いて・・・・・

Yes, it was very cold when I wrote this article......

But high for the day has not been below freezing since then.

Actually, it has been more like early spring time.......

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

楽しい毎日を過ごしてきました

We spent the end of 2011 & the beginning of 2012 in Japan.

We had really great time with my family.

 

この話は、また別に書くとして・・・

I will write about our trip another time.....

 

今日は１月１４日のことを・・・・・

and today, I would like to talk about January 14.

 

前日の１３日は最高気温が－３℃というとっても寒い日でした

The 13th was a very cold day and the high temperature was 26F.

 

当然その日の夜の気温はもっと下がるわけで・・・・

Naturally, the temperature goes even lower at night......

 

 

１４日の朝に朝食ビュッフェを食べに行った近くのレストランでの写真です

This is a picture from a restaurant we went to have breakfast buffet in the morning of the 14th.

 

噴水を止めていなかったらしく、そのまま凍ってました

Apparently, they did not stop their fountain and it was just frozon.

２６日からの一時帰国のための

荷造りしてるころ？

This time next week,

I should be packing

for our trip Japan from the 26th.

 

実家到着は２７日の夜中近くの予定

２週間近く、ゆっくりしてきます

We should arrive our family home close to midnight on the 27th.

We will stay there close to 2 weeks.
