Interestingly enough Hublot watches need undergo

So, while it is unlikely that we will see a Hublot play host to any considerable F1 branding, the partnership between Hublot translates to massive exposure that may be the ideal stage for announcing a new Hublot. With the 2013 F1 season kicking off in replica hublot watches uk on the 17th of March, it's anyone's guess what we might see at Baselworld only a month later.

Swiss Hublot has its hands in a lot of things, ranging from sponsorships to limited edition watches that seem to celebrate other limited editions. We can't cover them all, but once in a while there is an image or story that we just have to share. It looks like Hublot is sponsoring an Exosuit for the European team that is continuing to dive and explore the region around where the Antikythera device was found. Hublot has (of course) released a limited edition watch called Hublot Oceanographic ref. EXO4000 731. QX. EXO14.

If you recall, back in 2011 Hublot's genius designer Mathias Buttet recreated the ancient greek calendar device into a wrist watch. I was at the official unveiling of the movement, and I have to admit that what Mathias did was really cool. Last year in 2013, Hublot released a limited edition watch inspired by the original Antikythera timepiece known as the Hublot MP-08 Antikythera SunMoon (hands-on here). Apparently, exploration work continues on the ship wreck where the ancient device was found.

To assist the scientists, someone acquired an Exosuit. What is the Exosuit? It is a relatively new manned submersible suit that takes the traditional steampunk diving suit to the next level. The suit was designed by Nuytco Research in replica omega Planet Ocean 42. The firm J. F. White Contracting purchased at least one these that it seems to either be loaning or renting to various groups - such as the team Hublot is working with.

The Exosuit is pretty bad-ass, to be honest, and is what happens when you give an engineer freedom to design something that doesn't need to be on a budget. The Exosuit is more or less a wearable submarine suit made from mostly aluminum and contains life support systems. Interestingly enough, it is not designed to dive all that deep, but instead is about allowing a diver to remain replica tag heuer Carrera Calibre 1887 for a very long time without having to worry about limited oxygen or decompression. The Exosuit is an atmospheric suit, meaning that the pressure inside is about the same as on the surface. So the diver coming back up does not need undergo decompression to avoid getting the bends.

A cable from the Exosuit goes back up to the support vessel, offering power and oxygen. The system is designed to allow for the diver to last up to 50 hours in the suit if needed. The suit has all types of communication equipment and information gathering gadgets. The diver controls the legs and arm manipulators, and the feet have propulsion systems to allow the diver to maneuver and get back to the surface.

Well because there are finicky Hublot watches

Going back to the Big Bang I thought it would be interesting to explore the "jewelry-ification" of the piece. From the original masculine design to pieces completely covered in diamonds, it is fascinating to see how the core replica hublot big bang has held up to being studded in diamonds. The newest diamond-dressed Big Bang watch is called the Hublot Baby Million (though I am not sure what is so "baby" about it). It is a low piece with 28 carats of diamonds on it. Here it is the first shown watch in this article and prompted this discussion. Why? Well because in addition to being almost totally covered in diamonds, the core Hublot Big Bang design is preserved on the dial and case - despite the 891 diamonds all over the timepiece. That wasn't simple - to make a haute joaillerie Big Bang still look like a big Bang watch.

A million bucks isn't the highest amount Hublot has asked for a big Bang watch. There have been a few such "million" (I am not even sure of the currencies sometimes) Big Bangs up to the 3 million dollar version with a tourbillon. What I like is how each of these is actually set differently with stones. These are also among the few men's watches with diamonds that i think I could pull off wearing. Of course that statement is almost entirely fantasy because the prices are outrageous, but you get the idea. I tend to think of diamond studded watches as being primarily replica Omega Seamaster 300m. Though the right guy (Elton John) call pull it off.

Moving down the article you can see a few Big Bang watches will less and less diamonds down to one of the originals on a rubber strap. The evolution of the watch is interesting and thought-provoking for what is (love it or hate it) an icon of modern luxury sport watches. The Hublot Baby Million is probably a perfect hybrid between the look of the original and the jewelry style that many of these are going for. Hublot does deserve some credit for taking a cool looking 44mm wide watch and making the most out of the design. It remains a piece I admire - though given the extremely wide range of variations Hublot has made, I have no idea which i would wear if i could choose just one.

The luxury watch market needs diamonds. Hublot sort of never had a choice when it came to putting diamonds on the Big Bang. I always thought it was sort of silly when a nice sport watch was suddenly available with diamonds. Years before Hublot ever did this it was brands like Rolex and Omega that made it clear how necessary it was. Why? Well because there are finicky luxury lovers who simply won't wear anything else. It might seems hard to believe for some people, but I have met plenty of watch collector's who have said "nice watch, but does it come in gold with diamonds? I don't wear anything else. " The first few times I heard this it was surprising, but it is a fact. For me, I have no prejudice against a nice steel replica breitling bentley. I actually have some prejudice against sport watches slathered in precious materials, but the best of them are important parts of the watch universe.

With large budgets and healthy desire to play with design and precious materials, I think we are no where near the end of the diamond-covered Big Bang. Though it is good to know what is underneath all the stones. Big news in the watch world today as Rolex has been announced as the long-term Official Timekeeper for Formula 1 racing, effective as of the 2013 season. Being both the Official Timekeeper and Official Timepieces of Formula 1 is no small achievement and the role had previously been occupied by brands like Jacques LeMans, Tag Heuer, and most recently Hublot. Being THE watch brand for Formula 1 is a big deal for a number of reasons, most notably the considerable audience attracted by F1. Formula 1 has a global viewership of over 500 million fans, making it one of the most watched sports in the entire world. Combine that audience with branding that is hinged on prestige, innovation, cutting edge technologies, and sporting elements such as team rivalries, big egos, and highly competitive top tier driving and you have an ecosystem that is an ideal platform for promoting a luxury watch brand.
