Normal usage means that you do not always sound natural. It is really important to spend more time saving and reviewing words and phrases. You should also save some phrases with 'a', 'the' and 'an' in them so you become familiar with these articles. Another useful activity is to save articles as individual words. You can then go to the REVIEW section and click on 'words I am learning.' Next, click on 'check for examples' and you will be given a list of sentences that include the particular article or word you clicked on.

Proper punctuation is very important if you wish for your writing to be fluent and easily understood. When saving words and phrases, pay close attention to where commas are placed. Read your writing out loud so that you hear where you pause. Commas are most often placed where speakers naturally pause. You may also want to pay close attention to this when reading. This will help you become familiar with the practice of punctuation, and you can begin to use this element more efficiently in your own writing.

Verbs still seem to give you some trouble. The best thing that you can do is save and review phrases that contain verbs. Also, when you are reading, try to identify the verbs in the sentences. Pay close attention to their forms and uses. By exposing yourself to these words over and over, your own usage of them will become much better. Good luck!

Tracey
