Around 200 people from Media and Entertainment fields came to the event to celebrate the upcoming film festival. Among these guests, there were some famous actors and directors. Mr. Rom Kanda who hosted a popular TV program "I Survived a Japanese Game Show!" in 2008. He provided us short stand up comedy. It was really amazing and funny!!

One remarkable thing, Mr. John, one of the board members of Los Angeles Violet and UCLA Senior Student took charge in the presentator of this event and he really did great job. Without his effort this event would have been failed. In addition to that, other members contribute to the success of this event much!

A lot of movie directors and prestigious people were invited to the event. At the first part, we watched "Seven Samurai" one of the most famous Japanese movies. It lasted more than 3 hours but definitely it was a true masterpiece!

The party itself is so gorgeous. Tons of performers and celebrities appeared on the event. The son of Kurosawa Akira was supposed to come to the place, but he couldn't make it because he was being tried on the charge of embezzling his father's property.

Anyway that was so cool event, and we took photo with top star Mr. Sanada after the event. Next time, we try to meet Steven Spielberg and George Lucas:)

Without his effort, we might not see Olympic games in Tokyo in 1964...

He was born in Canada in 1927 and returned to Japan in 1940 because of the diplomatic relationship between Japan and United States were fatally aggravated. After end of the war, he started his career at a news paper companies in Japan. Soon he got unique positions such as play-by-play announcer of professional wrestling, inviting New York Yankees for Major League Baseball Japan All-Star Series in 1953 and established and became the CEO of magazine "President" which is famous business magazine in Japan.

His relationship is incredible. We saw pictures him with Mr. Morita, who is one of the founders of SONY, Royal family, and Jirou Shirasu who was one of the most famous diplomats.

To our surprise, he still plays ice hokey even though he is over 80 years old!!!

I wish I can become the man like him.

On April 8th, Los Angeles Violet hosted the third event "wine party for UCLA students".

Getting support from Mr. Duncan from Greece, we borrowed the space of lounge of luxury apartment at westwood in Los Angeles.
To make the event meaningful one, We invited beautiful sommelier for our event to learn how to drink wine and history of the wine.

More than 50 people including so many international students from Japan, Brazil, Turkey, Canada, Mexico, Korea, Greek, and China and more participated in this event.

Beside students, many professional people such as lawyers, CEO, and Banker were coming to the event!

Everyone enjoyed and got drunk!!

Next time, We will have a Japanese Sake party.

The event was held at Kyoto Grand Hotel Los Angeles


He explained how deep history "Zainichi" Korean residents in Japan
have and the importance of education toward children in both countries.

Also he explained he would focus on the problem of "Buraku" who once belonged in the lowest class of Japanese society at the Edo Period. He thinks the problem and the discrimination against Buraku is so deep-looted and need to be well considered and overcome.

We can definitely expect his upcoming movie.
