while walking, i noticed a cat lying down on the pavement. it seemed healthy enough, but then it wasn't moving. good thing it was quite dark that time and couldn't properly verify anything. i said a silent prayer and resolved to chant a sutra anyway.

the gripping pain in my chest whenever i come across dead things wasn't as sharp anymore. i did wish it only had a peaceful passing and prayed for a peaceful afterlife, if any. but it didn't take anything away from my moon appreciation. maybe the sutra chanting did help.
