ワンツーワンで２回だけ教わった英語の先生に「（日本人の）妻が英語の本を読みはじめたら、英語力がグンっと上達したよ」と言われ、単純な私は英語の本を読むことに・・・

しかし、もともと読書に弱い私は、「ハリーポッター」とか、「なんとなくおもしろそうと思って買った本」は、ことごとこく挫折、もぅどの本を読んで良いのかさっぱりわかりませんでした。

そんなとき学校の韓国人のクラスメイトが「この本簡単でおもしろいよ」と薦めてくれたのがコレ。

ホント、辞書いらずでスイスイ読めて、しかもおもしろい！

読書嫌いな私が、１週間程度で読み終えてしまいました。

ポイントはこの３つだと思います。

①私の好きな推理もの

②かわいい絵がついている

③８０％は辞書なしで理解可能

その後、学校の本好きの先生もこの本を「ファンタスティックブック！」と賞賛していたので、本当に良い本なのだと思います。

実業家のAlan Sugarの会社のJob intterview（面接）をＴＶで放送しているもの。

その面接がすごい！

１４人の候補者をチームに分けて、いろいろな仕事をさせます。例えば、豪華客船の客を楽しませるイベントを考えて、実際により多くのお金を稼ぐのと、お客さんの満足度を得られた方が勝ち。など。

そして、毎週そのうちの負けたチームの１人が

「You are fired!（おまえはクビだ！）」

と言われ減って行きます。

最後の１人は、年収2000万円の社員になることが出来ます。

実は、先週で、今年の面接は終了してしまい、また来年までお預け。

今度はＵＳＡ版がケーブルＴＶでやるらしいのですが、家にはケーブルないので見れませ～ん。残念

The son of a tailor, he left school at the age of 16 and started a short-lived career in the civil service as a Statistician, soon choosing to sell electrical items instead. I uset to get paid peanuts in Japan so I buttered my mother up when I wanted to buy something.

I wish I could get a well-paid job. It might be a half-baked idea.

I quit eating sweets now because I have put on weight recently although I have a sweet tooth and am addicted to chocolate.

Putting on weight is a piece of cake for me!
