新しいクラスメートがスイスから。ベアット(仮名)とカリン(仮名)。

ベアットがアーミービーチでバーベキューをしようって。

At that day,I didn't have any plan,so joined it.

It was so nice,because it was turnning point for my life in Hawaii.

I met new close friends;Gary and Karen.

その日は何にも予定がなかったから、参加。

これが、私のハワイ生活を変える分岐点に。

ここで、新しい仲のいい友達ギャリー(仮名)とカレン(仮名)に出逢う。

We talked alot and got infomation Karen lives in Kailua.It's far from Waikiki.

So I told her 'if you can't get back to home today,you can stay at my room.I live where close from here.'

たくさんお喋りして、カレンがカイルアに住んでると教えてもらった。

カイルアはワイキキから少し遠いから、帰れなくなったらうちに泊まっていいよ。って。

This day,she didn't come,but after that we became to talk in school too.

この日は、こなかったんだけど、それから、学校でも話すように。

This is that BBQ party.

After this,alot of people came.

Everyone loves BBQ.haha.

This time,some of my classmate graduated.

They are my bodybording and surfing friends,Key and Shimon.

うちの学校では、月1回の卒業式が、アラモアナパークで。

このときは、波乗りを一緒にしてたキィ(仮名)とシモン(仮名)が卒業。

I was thinking about buying my own surfboard.

I wanted to buy 9feets,but it was expensive for me.

I found $500, used, 8feets one.

I was talking about it to Shimon.

He said I am not tall,so for me,8 feets is enough.

After 2 days,fainaly I bought it!

ずっと、サーフボードを買おうか悩んでて。

9フィートのが欲しかったけど、ちょっと高くて。

8フィートの、中古の板が$500で売ってるのを発見。

シモン(仮名)に相談したら、私はちっちゃいから8フィートで充分だよって。

それから2日くらい考えて、やっと、購入。

My life changed.

In early morning,I went to beach only with my own board and my room's key.

It was fun.

そこから生活が一変。

朝早く起きて、板と鍵だけ持って海へ。

楽しかった。

After surfing,I went to learn hula.

It was free lesson.

I remember with some music.

I already lost them.haha.

サーフィンのあとは、フラの無料レッスン。

いくつかの曲を覚えた。もう全部忘れたけど笑。

But I still felt I didn't enjoy my hawaiian life...

だけど、まだ、いまいち楽しくないなぁって思いながらの日々・・・。

This is Claudine and me after the graduation ceremony.

She entered our school at the same day as me.

After this,she went to night club with her friends.

She asked me to go there together,but I said no.

Because this day,I was sooo sleepy.

卒業式後、クラウディーヌ(仮名)と。

彼女は同じ日の入学。

この後、クラブに行ったみたい。

私は誘われたけど眠かったからお断り。

In north shore is famous but not only north shore but also waikiki.

You will find it on the left when you are walking Kuhio street from waikiki to ala moana.

有名なワゴン車のお店。

ノースショアが有名だけど、実はワイキキにもある。

クヒオ通りをワイキキからアラモアナに向かって歩いてると、左手に見える。

I recomend a garlic shrimp.

It's really delicious.

Sometimes I miss it.

ガーリックシュリンプが最高に美味しい。

Before our class,he went to beach for body boarding.

クラスメートのキィ(仮名)はボディーボードが好きで

授業前にボディーボードへ行ってた。

Other class mate,Shimon loves surfing.

He also went to beach alot.

別のクラスメートのシモン(仮名)は、サーフィンが好きで

よく海へ行ってた。

I told them I want to do it.

私もやりたい。って言ってみた。

One day,we went go to beach together.

7am,or like that time,we met kuhio beach.

I didn't have my board,so I rented one.

で、一緒に行くことに。

7時くらいかそのくらいに、クヒオビーチで待ち合わせて。

そのときは、私は、自分のボードはないから、レンタルで。

It was first time to play body boarding.

Key was enjoying and didn't teach me how to do.haha.

ボディーボードはこのときが初めて。

キィ(仮名)は自分ばっか楽しんでて、全然教えてくれない笑。

Shimon came to us with his surfboard.

He is a really good surfer.

I never seen surfer like him.

シモン(仮名)もきて。

彼はすごい上手で、彼みたいなサーファーはまだ見たことない。

His history is really interesting.

彼の過去は面白くて。

He was born in Kugenuma.

When he was before 10 years old,he found surfboard at a garbage place.

He asked a supplier 'can I get this?''Of course'

Then he got it.

From at that day,he went to beach every day after school.

彼は鵠沼出身で、10歳前くらいに、ゴミ捨て場にサーフボードが捨てられてるのを見つけて。

持ってかえっていいか聞いたらいいよ。って言われて、

それから、放課後、その板で毎日練習したらしい。

After elementary school,he went to France for his junior high school.

It's not because his parents went there for their work.

His parents were in Japan,Only he went there.

He started break dance there.

But one day,he broke his shoulder,he couldn't do it.

中学になるときにフランスへ行ったけど、親の転勤とかではなく。

親は日本で、彼は単身フランスへ。

そこでブレークダンスにはまったんだけど、肩を壊して踊れなくなって。

After junior high school,he went to New York for his high school.

This time also he went there alone.

In his shool,he have to go to summer school,so he came.

He said it's easier to speak French than English.

Sometimes,he was talking with French friend in Franch.

He said he loves Franch.

中学を出たら、今度はニューヨークへ。やっぱり単身。

彼のニューヨークの学校は、サマースクールが必須だから、語学学校へ。

ときどき、彼がフランス人とフランス語で会話してるのも見かけた。

フランス語が好きなんだって。

At that day,there was slowly waves.

(In English,we can say 'mellow waves?')

He was handstand on his board.

It was so cool.

その日はメローな波だったからか、彼は逆立ちで波乗り。

かっこよかった。

People in the sea says 'Wow'

2 boys started handstand on their board.

He said it's hawaiian culuture.

In Japan,when he did same things,Japanese said nothing or just great.

Nobady try it.

But in Hawaii Kids try it over and over.

When we got back,they almost could do that.

みんな、口笛とかおー。とか言ってたんだけど、

2人の男の子が、やり始めちゃって。

ハワイだからだねーって。

日本だと、やっても、すごいねーって言われるか無視されるだけで、

だれもやろうとしないもん。

でも、ハワイだと、子供は絶対真似する。

私たちが上がる頃には、だいぶできるようになってた。

Now,he is a student in university,maybe.

I'd like to see him.

彼は今、たぶん、大学生くらい。

あってみたいなぁ。

It was a good time for me.

I realized I love surf and body boarding.

すごく楽しくて、

やっぱり、海遊び好き。って思った。

In the morning,we took a bus from ala moana bus tarminal.

It took more than 1 hour,I think.

We got to Kairua beach.It was windy there.

Alot of people was having fun with wind surfing!

They were soo cool.

私とユミ(仮名)とマミ(仮名)は、カイルアビーチと有名なパンケーキのお店、ブーツアンドキモズへ。

朝、アラモアナバスターミナルからバスに乗って、たぶん、1時間以上？

カイルアビーチは、風がすごい強くて、

ウィンドサーフィンやってて、超かっこよかった。

We were getting sun tan with talking.

It was fun,but I had some complicated feelings.

Because Yumi was always with me and at that time,I didn't speak English.

私たちは、日焼けしながらお喋り。

楽しかったんだけど、複雑な心境・・・。

ユミ(仮名)はいつもそばにいて、彼女といるときは、全然英語を喋れない。

I thought I came here for studying English.

I have to change.

英語の勉強にきたのに。

変わらなきゃ。

I decided it,but I didn't know what to do.

Anyway,we went to Boots and Kimo's.

The pan cake of boots and Kimo's was sooooo delicious!!!!I love that.

When you'll go to Hawaii,you should go there.

You have to wait for long time,but it deserves it.

I prefer here to Egg'n things.

そう決意しつつ、どうしていいかわからない。

とにかく、ブーツアンドキモズに行って、パンケーキ。

すごい美味しくて大好き。

もしハワイに行くことがあれば、食べるべき。

だいぶ待つけど、それだけの価値はある。

エッグンシングスより断然こっち派。

Actually I wanted to go to Lani kai beach which is called 'heaven beach'

But we didn't know how to go there...

でも実は、天国の海といわれるラニカイビーチに行きたかった。

道がわからなくて断念。

In Laniakea beach,there were alot of turtles.In Hawaian,they are called Honu.It's symbol of happiness.

We can't into the red line,because there are the places for turtles.

But in the sea,we can swim with them if they are also swim.

パールハーバーのあとは、ワイメアベイとラニアケアビーチ(たぶん)へ。

ラニアケアビーチは、たくさんの海がめがいるところ。

ハワイ語ではホヌと呼ばれて、幸福の象徴と言われてる。

赤いロープで作ったラインの中でホヌは日向ぼっこをしてて、

人間はそのラインのなかに入っちゃダメ。

でも、泳いでるときに、足元や隣にいたり。

In Waimea Bay,there is a huge rock.

A lot of people were jumping into the ocean.

I told him 'I want to do it,too!' 'you want?' 'YES!!'

ワイメアベイには、おっきな岩が。

その岩からいっぱい飛び込んでて。

クリス(仮名)に、私もやりたい！って言ったら、やる？って聞かれたから、うん！って。

So we climbed the rock.

I thought it was sooooo high.Actually I don't like high places,haha.

But I like jumping.

その岩に登ったら、思った以上に高かった。実は高いところ、若干苦手笑。

でも、飛び込むのは楽しい。

At first,I didn't say 'can I jump next?' to someone whom I don't know.

But alot of people were there and if I didn't ask I couldn't do it.

I needed courage to ask,but I did.

Then I jumped into the ocean.It was so much fun with a bit fear.

I did it several times.

最初、知らない人に、次飛んでいい？って聞けなかったんだけど。

聞かなきゃずっとできそうにないから、頑張って聞いてみた。

飛び込むのは、ちょっと怖かったけど、すんごい楽しくて、何度もやっちゃった。

On the way,we also went to Costco for our lunch.

This is first time for me to go to Costco.

It surprised me because everything is big.

And one more thing surprised me.

Chris drunk a coca-cola which is a full of cup and take one more.

I thought that's why American is so big...

クリス(仮名)が、私とユミ(仮名)をパールハーバーに連れて行ってくれた。

途中、ランチのために、コストコにも寄って。

初めてだったから、何もかも大きくてびっくりした。

あともうひとつ驚いたこと。

クリス(仮名)が、カップ(アメリカンサイズの大きいやつ)いっぱいのコーラを飲んで、更におかわりした。

だからアメリカ人っておっきいんだなぁ。

My home town is Hiroshima,so I have learned about world war 2 alot.

Pearl Harbor was the one of the place I wanted to visit in Hawaii.

私の地元は広島なので、第二次世界大戦についてはいっぱい学んだ。

パールハーバーは、ハワイにきたら、訪れたかった場所のひとつ。

This time,we went only USS ARIZONA MEMORIAL,

but there is drowned ship in the bottom of the sea and the oil is still comming out...

このときは、USS　ARIZONA　MEMORIALにしか行かなかったんだけど。

でも、海の底に沈んだ船があって、そこから今でもオイルが流れ出てて。

I got a pamphlet there.It was not different so much from I learned.

It makes me think about war and relationship of Japan and USA.

We lost the war,so we have to accept them,but they also accept us.

I really hope there is no more war all over the world.

パンフレットをもらったけど、習ったこととそう違いはなかった。

戦争のことや、日本とアメリカの関係について考えさせられた。

日本は負けたから、アメリカを受け入れなければいけなかったけど、

アメリカも、日本を受け入れてくれたんだよね・・・。

本当に、世界中から、戦争がなくなりますように。

We didn't have car,so went there by bus.

We had to transfer once.

日曜日、ワイケレアウトレットモールへユミ(仮名)と買い物へ。

車がないのでバスで。

ちなみに、バスだと、1回乗換なきゃいけない。

We got there around noon,so we had lunch first.

We don't know how to order yet at that time.

So we chose Starbacks Coffe.haha.

着いたらお昼まわってたから、とりあえずランチ。

このときはまだ、注文の仕方もわからなかったから、スターバックスで笑。

After that,we went to alot of shops.

It was fun for me.

If you love shopping,I recomend Waikere premium outlets.

It's far from Waikiki,but you must have so much fun there.

Actually I don't like shopping so much,but I could have fun.

その後、いろんなショップへ。楽しかった。

もし、買い物好きなら、ワイケレアウトレット、おススメ。

ワイキキからちょっと遠いけど、絶対楽しい。

私はあんまり買い物すきじゃないけど、それでも楽しかった。

When we came back to Waikiki,it's around 5pm.

It's takes long time to go to Waikere.

So if you will go to Waikere premium outlets,you had better not to have other plan at that day.

ワイキキに戻ったらもう5時回ってた。

ワイケレまでほんと遠い。

もし、ワイケレアウトレット行くなら、その日は他の予定は入れないほうがいいと思う。

持ち寄りパーティーだったので、豚の角煮。

On saturday,Keiko whom I met on first day in my school invited me to a party which is bring pool side party in her boyfriend's (whose name is Pono) house.

I brought 'stew of a pork'because it was cheep.haha.

別の友達のユミ(仮名)も誘って、うちで待ち合わせてバスに揺られてハワイカイ辺りへ。

初バス！笑

バス停がわからず、降り過ごして、遥かかなたへ。

結局引き返して、ケイコ（仮名）に連絡して、なんとか合流。

I asked Yumi whom I also met in my school for goint to the party.

It's a first time for me to take a bus!haha.

We went there around Hawaikai by bus but we didn't know where we got off.

I called Keiko and she came to pick us up.

ケイコ(仮名)の友達の日本人と、日本人以外の人たち。

ケイコ（仮名）がポーノ（仮名）の友達にハグしてるのにカルチャーショックを受けた笑。

すぐに慣れたんだけど。

There are some people who are not Japanese and some Japanese who are Keiko's friends.

It was a culture shock that Keiko hugged Pono's friends.haha.

I got used to it soon.

最初はポーノ（仮名）以外の外国人に話しかけれなかったけど、

夕方くらいには、みんなで仲良くお喋り。

At first,I couldn't talk to people who are not Japanese except Pono.

But around evening,we could have a chat in English.

どういういきさつか忘れたけど、男の子の話に。

ポーノ（仮名）に、どういう人がタイプなの？って聞かれて、

ワイルドな人。って答えたら、大爆笑。

意味がわからず、何でそんな笑ってるの？って聞いたら、

Wildっていうのは、Barbarianって意味なんだよ。って。

Barbarianって何？って再び聞いたら、性欲の強い人って笑。

そういう意味じゃないんだってば！！

I don't know why,but we are talking about boys,

and Pono asked me 'which type of guy do you like?'

I answered'wild.'

They made laugh at me.

I couldn't know why.

'Why you are laughing so much?'

Pono taught me 'Wild means barbarian.'

'What does it mean?'

'It's kind of a guy who has strong sexual desire.'

'No,I didn't mean that!!'

時々、日本語になってる英語は、

英語では違う意味だったりするから気をつけて笑。

Sometimes,Japanese English has another mean in English.

So,be careful.haha.

アメリカでは、Independence dayというより、4th of Julyというほうが多いみたい。

だから、どうってわけじゃないんだけど笑。

Independence day.

In America,usualy Independence day is called 4th of July.

It doesn't matter you called the day Independence day.

まったく予定もなかったんだけど、

学校まで送っていってくれた男の子、クリス（仮名）が、

partyするからおいでよ！と言ってくれたので、お言葉に甘えて。

待ち合わせ場所は、amy beachって言われたけど、よくわからない。って言ったら

結局、家まで迎えに来てくれることに。

I didn't have any plan on the 4th of July,but Chris who took me to my school at my first day in Hawaii invited me his party.

At first,he said 'came to amy beach'

but I didn't know whrere is amy beach.

So he came to pick me up at my house.

彼のお家にいったん寄ってから。って事だったんだけど、彼のお家はボート。

ハワイではそんなに珍しいことじゃない？

He said 'we'll go to his house first.'

I was surprised because his house is his boat.

Is it not rare things in Hawaii??

うちから彼のボートが泊めてある港までが30分強くらい。

ひたすら頑張って歩く、歩く。

学校と家のちょうど中間くらいかな？

It takes 30mins on foot to his boat from my house.

We were just walking walking and walking.

There is just halfway point from my house to my school,maybe.

疲れた？と聞いてくれるので、ちょっとだけ。って答えつつ。

彼がしきりに、Almostというのが不思議だったけど、もうすぐだよ。って意味だったみたい。

こうやって、ちょっとずつ、言い回しを学んでいくことが多かったな。

He asked me 'did you get tired?'

I answered 'a little bit'

He said 'almost' alot,but at that time I couldn't know what it is.

I got the meaning after that.

Like this,I learnd how to use English word in usual days.

partyは、お酒のゼリーとか、バーベキューとか、いかにもアメリカン！って感じ。

ほとんど英語もわからないから、相手もゆっくり喋ってくれて、

なんとかコミュニケーションがとれる感じ。

この日は、8時くらいまでビーチで遊んで、その後、彼の友達のお家へお邪魔して更に飲んで。

片言の英語でとにかく喋って、騒いで、楽しいpartyでした。

最初のアルコールゼリーで酔っ払ったけど笑。

At that party,there were Jelly shot which is alchol jelly,BBQ and so on.

They are exactly my image of American food.

People talked to me slowly,because I could understand English only a little bit.

So I could talk with them.

I spent time with them until 8pm and then,we went to Chirs's friend house for drinking.

That party was so much fun for me!

Although I got drunk by a first jelly shot,haha.
