★How do you say『何に今はまっていますか？？』 in English???★

色々な言い方はありますが、popularなのは、【What are you crazy about now?】もしくは【What are you into now?】ですね。そして答えるときは【I'm crazy about ＋動詞のingもしくは名詞】/【I'm into～】で答えましょう♪

conversation(会話)の広がりになるフレーズなので覚えておくと便利ですね★☆

答えはBのBulgariaです！In Brugaria nodding（うなづく） your head means no, while（一方では） shaking your head（頭を振る） from side to side usually means Yes!

答えはCのGreece（ギリシャ）です！Be careful, in Greece the thumbs-up gesture could be seen（見られる） as very rude(無礼) and even agressive（攻撃的） body language!

Today, I would like to ask you how you say KURI in English? 今日はクリって英語でなんというか質問したいとおもいます。Many answered MARRON, but actually it was not English! きっと、多くの人はあ！知ってるよぉ。。マロンでしょ！というかもしれませんが。。。実はマロンは英語じゃないんです。 The true answer is "Chestnuts". MARRON is French. 正解はChestnuts (チェスナッツ）といいます。マロンというのはフランス語だったのです。

Recently new flu is spreaded all over the world.特に最近は新型インフルエンザも世界中で流行っています。 ということで、まず、インフルエンザにかかった場合★ If you got this, you can say "I caught (got) the flu". Maybe many of you know the expression "I catch a cold or I have a cold" when you are sick. The past tence of "catch" is caught. きっと、風邪ひいた。。という言い方はなじみのある人も多いとおもいます。 ここで使われているcaughtはcatchの過去形です。

Anyway I hope nobody get a flu.. でも、みんなインフルエンザにかからないでくださいね～

I also introduce some expressions. ほかの表現もあわせて紹介します。

Yes, "A big talker"does not imply the size of the person.... サイズ？？いえいえ、、、BIGというと大きさのことをだれしもがパッと思いつくとおもいますが、It means a person who tells a story. これは、実はほらふきする人のこと。。。それで Are you a BIG TALKER? というのは、あなた、、ほらふいてるの？？っていう感じに訳せます♪BIGというなじみのある単語もこんなふうな意味をもつというのはちょっと意外ですよね。A small talker ?? No, there is no expression, unfortunetaly.

ちなみにあんまり関係ないんですが、’sexual harassment’日本ではセクハラなんていわれますが、いたずら電話のharassと同じharassが使われています！これは、『悩ます』という動詞になります♪

One of my students of our English school asked me that during the today's lesson. デザートとスウィｰツの違いってなんですか？？これは今日英会話スクールでのレッスン中に一人の生徒から質問されたことですが。。みなさんはわかりますか？I could barely answer it, but I further looked into a dictonary for itなんとなぁくという程度ではそのときに説明したのですが、少し気になったので調べてみました♪

Here is my definition of the difference.

First of all, the origin of the word of Dessert is French, and they use Dessert as a word to put away their dining table. Therefore, dessert implys something you can eat after meals orginally. まず、発見したのはデザートという言葉は英語ですがもともとその言葉の起源はフランスにあり、フランス語でその言葉は食事を片付けるという意味があったようです。それで、もともとデザートというのは日本でも食後のデザートというように、食事のあとに食べるアイスクリームやゼリープディング、パイなどを主に表すようです。On the other hand, sweets can include all food which you taste sweet. In other words, dessert can be included in the sweets category, それに対して、sweetsスウィｰツは甘いという形容詞のsweetを元としてできた言葉で甘いもの、お菓子類全般をさしているようです。For example, when you eat out dinner at a restaurant and order a piece of chocolate cake, it is going to be a dessert and also a sweet. But something such as a candy is a sweet, not a dessert. Can you understand it?? I hope you are. これを例えてみるなら、、レストランに行ってごはんを食べた後にオーダーしたチョコレートケーキはデザートといえます。でもこれはスウィートともいうことができます。でも、キャンディーなどはスウィートのｶﾃｺﾞﾘｰですが、デザートということはいえません。。というかんじで私なりに理解しましたが、、、言葉は日本語でもお菓子、甘い物、甘味類、おやつ、、、などいろいろな言い方がありますよね。。Anyway, the temperature dropped dramatically today, so please take care when you go out. What do you think the meaning of "WHITE LIE"? （WHITE LIE ってなんのことだと思いますか？？）

White means 白 as you know. (ご存知のようにwhiteは白の意味だけれど。。）

Actually, it means blameless lie. (実はWHITE LIEというのは罪のないうそのことなんです。。）

じゃあじゃぁ、、もしかして白の反対の、、黒は？？？と想像した人も多いはず・・

そうなんです！ There is an expression of "BLACK LIE" in English. ＢＬＡＣＫ ＬＩＥという言葉があったのです。これはＷＨＩＴＥ ＬＩＥの逆で、タチの悪いうそのことです。

Well, I think that any lie is lie! No excuse! in my personal opinion. といっても、ウソも方便という言葉が日本にあるけれど、ウソはWHITE であろうが ＢＬＡＣＫであろうが、ウソはウソだぁ！！というのが個人的な意見ですが。。笑

In addition to black and white lie, there are other interesting color words such as "golden sun" which means 真っ赤な太陽 in Japanese. I guess each country has different expression to explain the figure.

(白や黒のウソについての表現に加えて、色についていろいろな日本人と違う感覚を感じさせる言葉もあります。例えば、Golden Sunというのも 真っ赤な燃えるような太陽のことをあらわします）
