混乱した。
私も理解できなかった
なぜSaudiの政府が
そんな声明をしたのか...

平和だったわたしたちの間に
なにか得体の知れない
壮大すぎる問題がのしかかってきたことを
この時、知った。

現代の日本人で
私たち２０代くらいにもなれば
もし宗教に対し
特に詳しくない人間であっても
〈ISIS=イスラム国〉と
〈Muslim=イスラム教徒〉
が別のものにあるということを
認識している者がほとんどだと思う。

つまり
今回の事件が起きたことで
日本在住のMuslimと思われる者への
偏見差別、暴力行為、誹謗中傷といった
ことが起こるということは
ほぼないと私は見ている

現在、日本では
70年前の《最後の戦争》で
全てを失い、０から立ち直ったこの国の
現代人の大半が無宗教として生きている。
日本では宗教を関連とした事件を
問題視する人が少ない。
信仰を他人の自由とし、
時に都合の良いように信仰するのが
この国独自の宗教との関わり方といって
過言でない。

そして
私はじめ、周囲の意見も含め
この事件の脅迫映像を見た大半が
同情とは程遠く、
戦場という危険極まりない国へ
“ある程度の責任や覚悟をして行った
あるあるジャーナリスト”
という観点で見ていた

しかし

私は今、ここにきて
初めて《宗教》の動力の大きさを
目の当たりにしている

人種や宗教を超えて
繋がっていたと思っていた絆が

あの何気なく見ていた
なんの問題視もしていなかった映像を機に
《宗教》の違いというものを通して
今私たちをゆっくりと
引き裂こうとしている

私たちは今
ただ静かに事実の明らかと
その報告を受けてSaudi初め
Muslimが大半を占める各国家が
各在住国民にどのような処置を施すのか
それを待つしかできないでいる

そして
Saudiの処置は
『Muslimに偏見を抱く
  見境いのない日本人からの
  迫害を防ぐための防衛手段』
として伝えられたということを、
私たちは理解しなければならない

無論、私自身は無宗教だが

今はただMuslimの友人らの不安を
少しでも緩和したい想いから
在日中である
無実のMuslimの皆さんに代わりに
どうか国民の皆さんにお願いしたい。

彼らは現在、
それぞれ日本への憧れの思いを馳せ
遠い国々等から訪れ、
日本の地へ勉学や仕事に励むため
平和で充実の日々をくらしている

私たちは知っている
彼らになんの罪もないことを。
騒ぎの中
今彼らは何か少しでも負い目を感じ
少し肩を小さくして暮らしている

私だけではなにもできないが
それぞれが様々な蟠りを抱く今だからこそ

どうか彼らに誰しも
見境のない中傷や偏見的、差別的な目
を持つことのないように
そして一刻も早く、この同じ国で
背中合わせに暮らしている我々が
誰１人が憎しみ合うことがない時間が
戻ってくることを

私は今それだけを
切実に、切実に願っています
