I had a great time and in the way back to my friend's place, there was this song playing in the car. I don't know how to explain it but it felt good to finally discover a song that describes how it feels to be so attached to something it kinda hurts, or at least, makes you feel like you got no other purposes besides that specific thing that comes to your mind. In my very personal case, I related this song to a various list of personal experiences, as it has always been hard for me not to think about different situations that I already experienced when listening to music, its a very shared, similar feeling so its good to see all you feel has a musical interpretation, its such a good feeling.

[Verse 1]
My day was so mundane, I don't think I left the house
Drank a pot of coffee, tried to write, nothing came out
Somehow, it's the weekend, I'm still bored out of my skull
And I went to a party but only on principle

[Pre-Chorus]
Empty, look at me

[Chorus]
I'm a zombie in my body, I'm a train off of the track
I feel dirty, I feel rotten, and the colors are all flat
I'm a sad shell of a woman and I've got maggots for brains
But that's just the thing that happens when my
When my baby goes away

[Post-Chorus]
When my baby goes away
He goes away

[Verse 2]
Everything feels moldy like the fruit that's in my fridge
And everything that's funny, I wish I could tell to him
And sometimes, at a low point, I even wish for a tragedy
'Causе I know he'd come over and takе real good care of me

[Pre-Chorus]
It's weird, he's not here

He goes away, oh

[Bridge]
What can I do
But think of you?
But think of you?
What can I do
But think of you?
But think of you?

[Chorus]
I'm a zombie in my body, I'm a train off of the track
I feel dirty, I feel rotten, and the colors are all flat
I'm a sad shell of a woman and I've got maggots for brains
But that's just the thing that happens when my
When my baby goes away

[Outro]
What can I do

But think of you?

But think of you?

What can I do

But think of you?

But think of you?

ーMiguel

A free Sunday afternoon

For me, it really comes down to the fact that Sunday is a transition between what is already in the past and the new challenges and features of an upcoming week.

Of course, this is the opinion of a person whose psyche says a new week starts on the following Monday, but I am aware of the fact that for some people, and cultures, the week starts on Sunday. However, I think even then, we all share this uneasy feeling that starts on Sunday afternoon around 3 to 5 pm, just after we finish having lunch, or after the nap after it.

For me this feeling is a combination of anguish, sadness and dread for what can happen or cannot happen. The sunlight feels different, the wind blowing through the windows also feels different, but this is rather weird for me because on a Sunday I am usually out of my house, usually sharing a meal outdoors. However, no matter where I am, I still get this uneasy feeling. Not necessarily about what might go wrong in the following days, but rather about all the things that already went wrong, not only that week but the week behind it, and the week behind it, just as if it were a big snowball that's been getting bigger and bigger since I adquired consciousness about weeks, schedules, what I have and don't have to do. Basically, since I realized we all ought to be somewhere, doing something, and that, the older you get the more aware you become that you might not have as much time as you initially thought.

So, how can someone have actual Sunday rest with all this on their mind? I think the personal failure becomes a personal failure when you realize you could have just rested and kept your mind quiet, but all you did was think about failure and what you regret about all your life behind that exact point you are right now.

ーMiguel
