Lenovo ThinkPad W520

Lenovo designates the ThinkPad W520 as a notebook computer. It comes with an Intel Quad Core i7 2920XM CPU, 16 GB RAM, a Lenovo ThinkPad W700 battery, an NVIDIA Quadro 2000M video card, and Windows 7 Pro (64-bit). The unit weighs in at 5.95 pounds and measures 14.7” x 9.7” x 1.3”, so it’s pretty thin and not too heavy – so truly portable.

The Lenovo ThinkPad W520 is twice as fast as my ThinkPad W510 at certain chores and eclipses it on battery life. The ThinkPad W520 has superior battery life over the W510 and reaches 6-7 hours of battery life at a moderate screen brightness. Lenovo continues to provide excellent thermal management cooling in the W520 workstation. See the performance and battery life sections below for more detail. In short, the ThinkPad W520 with the new Intel Sandy Bridge chipset is a strong improvement to the Lenovo W Series of portable workstations.

The look of it suggests that Lenovo stuck with its previous series of workstation in terms of structure and design. There are some minor changes only in the look of it, like designing of the display cover with Lenovo ThinkPad W520i AC adapter blend of carbon fiber and glass fiber. Some users, however, find that the display cover surface is highly succumbing to catch finger prints and dust.

The screen is the giveaway. Measuring 15.6in, it comes in a range of resolutions. The display on our review sample had the Full HD resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, and superbly sharp bright and clear. Other available resolutions are 1600x900, and 1366x760. You can even opt for a model with a touchscreen.

Viewing angles are superb, and if you're thinking of using this laptop to deliver presentations or watch video then you'll also enjoy the speakers that sit vertically either side of the screen. These deliver very good sound quality - much better than we're used to from a business laptop.

One of the most popular features of ThinkPads has been the positive tactile feel of the keyboard, and the W520 continues this sentiment. Keyboard feel is great, but layout of some keys (such as Delete) is a challenge at first and may annoy some users because of unconventional Lenovo ThinkPad T410i battery placement. Also, there is no dedicated numeric keypad, not a big deal for me personally, but some users may take exception. The real estate area normally devoted to the numeric keypad is occupied by speakers on either side of the main keyboard.

We should clear things up by saying the Lenovo ThinkPad W520 isn’t a gaming laptop although the specs seem to point in that direction. At the moment there are 4 big names that manufacture business laptops: Fujitsu, Lenovo, Dell and HP. Fujitsu’s sales have dropped so this leaves the other three to battle for supremacy. There is another issue: business laptops are generally considered to be big 17″ portable computers which take up all the space, but we consider 15″ models to be the perfect choice for the business man or woman who occasionally has to carry the laptop around.

If you plan on carrying confidential data around, the integrated fingerprint scanner will keep it secure. There's plenty of space on the fast-access 500GB hard drive for all of your files, and this can be expanded through the 4-in-1 memory card reader. An ExpressCard slot allows the Lenovo ThinkPad W520 charger laptop's potential to be expanded by further increasing performance or adding peripherals.

Ports and connectors are plentiful, and run to an SD card slot, 34mm ExpressCard slot, headset connector, Ethernet port, smartcard slot, a toggle for wireless, mini-IEEE 1394 connector, combined eSATA/USB connector, two further USB connectors, an external monitor connector, and DisplayPort.

The Lenovo ThinkPad W520 comes with a 9-cell 94Wh, 8.7Ah battery that managed to get 6.5 hours using the Reader test, while the Classic mode got the laptop to reach 2 hours of battery life. One issue we had with the W520 was the high temperature. When idling it hit 140 degrees F and when we pushed it to the Lenovo ThinkPad W701 charger limit it nearly caught fire at 176 degrees F.

When it comes mobile processing power, it doesn't get any faster than the Intel Core i7-2920XM processor. With four cores and eight threads, this processor handles anything you can throw at it while still asking for more. Compared to the speedy dual-core Intel Core i5-2540M we tested in the T520 which got 18.15 seconds in wPrime, the 2920XM blew it out of the water with a time of 8.705 seconds. Combined with our two Intel SSD 510s running in RAID0, the W520 scored an equally impressive 20,700 in PCMark Vantage with a HDD test score of 48,300.

It doesn't come cheap, and the Lenovo ThinkPad W520 is really designed for graphics professionals and others who need a powerful Lenovo ThinkPad W530 charger portable with a super high-resolution screen. If you need these things, this is a superb computer.

Lenovo IdeaPad Y580 Laptop Review

The Lenovo IdeaPad Y580 is one of the best values among 15.6" multimedia and gaming notebooks. Though it's got as much style as grandpa's galoshes, the laptop is well made with quality Lenovo IdeaPad Y430g battery internals that translate into quick performance and reliability. And the backlit AccuType keyboard? Superb. The 1080p display? Excellent.

Departing subtly from Lenovo's all-business ThinkPad line, the IdeaPads are topped with a brushed metal shell in deep gray. We imagine the metal gives the display some extra protection. It’s beveled on the left and right sides and nicely cool to the touch. The bottom case is black plastic—standard stuff, but less sturdy than the top.

The keyboard also is well equipped with a full range of function keys and a separate numeric keypad on the right side. The keys are chiclet style—short and springy—and illuminated from Lenovo IdeaPad V450 AC adapter underneath via a backlight function controlled by the Fn key plus space bar.

Touchpad of this laptop is accented along with thin silver metal around the edges and the left and right click buttons are incorporated in a singular design. The touchpad is large and hence comfortable to use. All the standard features such as 2 finger scrolling and pinch to zoom are effortlessly executed.

Many users often lament 1366x768 resolution displays on 15.6-inch notebooks due to the apparent small screen real estate for such a large display. Such a resolution is, after all, commonly found in most budget and entry-level 15.6-inch offerings. As stated in the introduction, Lenovo thankfully includes Lenovo IdeaPad Y460 battery options for a 1080p upgrade for $100 above the base price. The glossiness and FullHD display in this review model are certainly appealing and more useful for everyday tasks, respectively, but no matte panel options exist as with most IdeaPads.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Y580 is loaded with Nvidia Optimus technology that automatically switches between the notebook's integrated and discrete graphics. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 GPU takes care of all the light tasks such as watching video, and the Nvidia GeForce GTX 660M GPU with 2GB of VRAM handles multimedia creation as well as some of the more demanding PC games on the market.

The IdeaPad Y580 comes equipped with a 1TB, 5,400rpm hard drive and a 32GB solid-state-drive (SSD), the latter of which has 12.7GB of free space out the box since it's loaded with some preloaded software and drivers. While users have the option of installing new apps to the SSD, its primarily designed to Lenovo IdeaPad V450 battery operate in the background to allow the Y580 to quickly reboot from sleep mode. Otherwise, new apps can be installed on the 1TB hard drive, which is plenty capacious. Overall, the ratio of useful apps (Microsoft Office Starter 2010, a full version of McAfee Internet Security) to unnecessary bloatware (desktop links, for instance) fortunately tips in favor of the user.

While so many laptops are foregoing optical drives to save space, weight, and money, Lenovo threw in a Blu-ray drive to render the Y580 capable of showing high-definition movies. The Y580’s design is sleek but simple: It looks like a true power machine, but one that’s free of flashy lights and garish decals. The wide, backlit keyboard is comfortable to type on, and the touchpad is smooth and easy to use. I rarely have nice things to say about touchpads, since any plug-in mouse will be vastly superior, but this one’s size and smooth, glass-like texture obviate any hassle in use.

Using the CyberLink YouCam 3 software, the Y580's HD webcam captures images and video at 1280 x 720 pixels. Under fluorescent lighting, our skin tone and our emerald green shirt were rather Lenovo IdeaPad Y430 adapter dark, but moving to a natural light setting balanced out the color. In both instances, the images were sharp with a good level of detail.

For gamers, there is Nvidia GeForce GTX660M graphics card and I got 30 fps speed playing with medium quality settings and the laptop got hiccups only for settings of high quality. For Crysis I got 97 fps playing at resolution of 1,024×768 pixels and in high quality native resolution, I got 13fps. Compared to this, Envy 17 could just give me 88 and 12fps respectively. For Lost Planet 2, the results were 71fps at medium quality at resolution of 1,024×768 pixels and 28fps at high quality when played at the native resolution.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Y580 gives plenty of bang for the buck and almost entirely eliminates the need for a desktop altogether. It features a dazzling screen with 1080p resolution, a built-in Blu-ray player, and even a full-sized keyboard on top of superlative multimedia and gaming Lenovo IdeaPad V430A adapter capabilities. While the HP Envy 17 (2012) offers a similar smorgasbord of features, the Y580 nonetheless outguns it while costing nearly $400 less. For these reasons, we're willing to overlook its so-so battery life, and it rightfully earns its place as our Editors' Choice for media laptops.

Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E530 15.6 LED Notebook

The ThinkPad Edge series also offers several features for a smoother, more effective user experience. The full size keyboard and Lenovo ThinkPad W700ds battery numeric keypad allows comfortable numeric and text data entry. Lenovo’s Rapid Boot technology reduces boot times by up to 30%, allowing you to get to work faster. The ThinkPad Edge E530 notebook is fitted out with hardware that delivers the high performance levels that SMB users require.

The build quality is above average providing for the necessary protection of the computer’s internal parts. The build quality should be acceptable for users moving the laptop around on a frequent basis, even after a couple of years. The external parts might however wear out after medium-term usage , resulting in cracks or squeaking sounds.

Most notebooks in this price range stick to cheaper, more common, glossy panels that glare in bright light, so it’s a treat to see a matte display on a budget business notebook with Lenovo ThinkPad W700ds AC adapter. The glossy notebook bezels are distracting while in bright light, but don’t diminish usability.

The display only offers a 1366 x 768 resolution, which makes for a cramped experience while editing documents side-by-side, but is easier to overlook thanks to the price of the notebook and matte finish.

Since the E430 is a smaller sized laptop it will not have room to offer a built-in number pad like you can get on the E530. The E430 is targeted towards small business users that need a portable laptop at a budget friendly price but without making a bunch of quality sacrifices. You still get the ThinkPad pointing stick, top notch keyboard and strong build Lenovo ThinkPad W700 AC adapter you’d expect from any laptop sold under the ThinkPad line. The ThinkPad E420 we reviewed was very popular and actually found a strong interest from students.

The Edge uses the AccuType keyboard, which is now used across both the ThinkPad Edge and standard ThinkPad lines. The keyboard is pretty impressive and makes up for the poor trackpad. The keys are large and finger-friendly which make it perfect for long typing sessions. They are responsive too. Besides, you get dedicated keys that serve as a shortcut to launch the Calculator, My Computer, Windows search box and the lock/log-in screen of Windows. It offers a roomy island-style layout that provides good definition between keys. Key travel is excellent. Overall, the typing experience provided by the E530 is on par with current ThinkPads.

It also includes built-in HD 4000 graphics which is Lenovo ThinkPad W700ds AC adapter undoubtedly better than the previous HD 3000 from Intel. Additionally, you get NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M graphics adapter. This makes the notebook perform well for most of the tasks that a laptop is used for. Reviewers who have tested this laptop found that it performs well with MP3 encoding test which it completed in a respectable 48 seconds.

The hard drive, with its 5400rpm spin speed, produced decent transfer rates in CrystalDiskMark; it read at a rate of 99.86 megabytes per second (MBps) and wrote at 97.79MBps. In our own transfer tests, where we duplicate data from one location on the drive to another, it recorded a more modest 37.85MBps. We would have liked a faster drive in this unit, perhaps even an SSD. In saying that, the 1TB capacity is definitely a drawcard and still reasonably quick thanks to its high data density.

Still, the Lenovo proved both sturdy and serviceable, and it comes with a strong complement of expansion ports Lenovo ThinkPad W700 adapter and security options, including a fingerprint reader for keeping intruders out. All in all, while the ThinkPad Edge E530 offers little to thrill small-business shoppers, it's as safe a buy for them as the company's more costly ThinkPads are for corporate IT departments.

Many small business buyers and students are on a budget and can’t afford the $1,000+ ThinkPad T530. If that’s the case for you, the ThinkPad Edge E530 is a nice alternative. You still get great build quality and a top notch keyboard. Granted, it’s not quite on par with the more expensive enterprise focused T530, but it’s better than an average consumer grade laptop. You might even prefer the design of the E530 over the T530 as it’s less boxy, using curved edges and having different lid color options. You also get an HDMI port, Lenovo G550 battery, something not offered in the T530, and yet it’s a port that many people look for when buying a laptop.

Review on Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E430 14-Inch LED

The Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E430 3254-AH2 laptop also comes with 720P HD Webcam, Stereo Speakers with Dolby Advanced Audio Enhancement, 4-in-1 Media Card Reader, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, and 6-cell Lithium-ion Lenovo ThinkPad R500 battery for up to 6 hours of life. The laptop runs on Genuine Windows 7 Professional 64-bit operating system. Needless to say, such a configuration is good enough for our daily use, people are very satisfied with it.

The ThinkPad Edge E430 has a 14.0” screen with 1366 x 768 resolution. There are no options to upgrade the resolution, though you can choose between either glossy (VibrantView) or matte (AntiGlare). If you’re a business user I highly recommend sticking with the standard matte screen finish, it reduces eye strain which is important when you have to stare at a screen for several hours on end. As far as screen quality, the E430 screen is nothing to write home about, but it gets the job done and is certainly bright Lenovo ThinkPad R500 AC adapter enough for indoor use. The viewing angles are just so-so, below are some pictures I took of the screen tilted at various angles:

The different design the E430 keyboard feels much like a regular ThinkPad keyboard -- each key has a nice travel distance and a very solid stroke, there is no flex or “clickety-clack” going on at all. The keyboard allows you to move your fingers fast and the noise is minimal even if you’re a key punishing typist like myself. One complaint is that the The Page Up and Page Down keys are ridiculously small and poorly located on the lower right side.

The edges and corners of the laptop are all noticeably curved, this prevents any sharp edges and makes for a less boxy look. The lid and keyboard area have a ThinkPad logo in which the dot on the “i" lights up, an interesting design touch. The keyboard uses a chiclet style design, while we would say this is different Lenovo ASM 92P1130 battery from a typical ThinkPad, rumor has it all future models will adopt this. You still get the red pointing stick and multi-navigation buttons at the bottom of the keyboard, along with a touchpad that has integrated mouse buttons as well.

The ThinkPad Edge E430's stereo speakers, located on the underside of the system, are surprisingly powerful for a small business laptop. When we listened to Nicki Minaj's "Beez in the Trap," each bass hit sounded clean and distortion-free. Kansas' "Carry on Wayward Son" sounded just as good, with the blues-inspired guitar riffs and cymbal crashes coming through loud and clear. The included Dolby Advanced Audio 2 software is a definite plus. Turn it off, and the Edge's audio quality takes a significant hit.

The Lenovo's 3.5 x 2.1-inch UltraNav textured clickpad was also quite accurate. Multitouch gestures worked for the most part, but we found ourselves repeating some of Lenovo ThinkPad R500 battery them occasionally, such as using the three-finger flick function to navigate the picture gallery. Two-finger scrolling and pinch-to-zoom, however, were spot on.

One interesting design change with the Edge series is that they now have a drop hinge. This is good for those who need to use a laptop when traveling as it makes the screen height slightly less, if you’re on an airplane with the person in front tilted back you’ll come to understand why. It’s worth noting that the hinges are strong, stiff and prevent any screen wobble from occurring as you type.

The ThinkPad Edge E430 includes all of the ports and plugs a small business owner could need. On its left side are a VGA port, USB 2.0 slot, HDMI port and two USB 3.0 ports. Over on the right Lenovo ThinkPad R500 adapter side, are the E430's power port, Ethernet jack, tray-loading optical drive, a USB 2.0 port that can charge devices while sleeping and a combination audio and microphone jack. Up front, the E430 features a 4-in-1 media card reader.

On PCMark 07, a synthetic benchmark that tests a system's overall performance, the E430 scored 2,337. That's on a par with the thin-and-light laptop category average (2,389), and about 200 points higher than the Acer Aspire TimelineX 4830TG-6808, which has the same CPU.

The Edge E430 also managed to boot faster than the competition, starting up in just 44 seconds compared with the category average of 57 seconds and the Acer 4830TG's 65 seconds. That's largely a result of the difference in rotation speeds between the E430's 500GB, 7,200-rpm drive, and the Acer's 500GB, 5,400-rpm drive. The ThinkPad Edge E430 fared pretty well on the LAPTOP File Transfer test, duplicating 4.97GB of mixed media files in 2 minutes and 53 seconds Lenovo ASM 92P1130 battery for a rate of 29.4 MBps. That's nearly identical to the category average of 29.9 MBps.

The E430 is small and light enough to carry around from meeting to meeting and can easily be plugged into a larger monitor via HDMI or VGA out when you’re at your desk. The design of the Edge series is a little more modern than the boxy classic ThinkPads; the curved edges, option of a colored lid and illuminated ThinkPad logo are just a few examples. That said, the E430 is still not going to really turn heads in public. Nonetheless, if you’re a practically minded person and you don’t need a flashy computer but rather one that is built well, costs a reasonable amount and gets the job done then the E430 should be on your short list to consider.

Asus Eee PC 1008P Karim Rashid: Full Review

The Asus Eee PC 1008P Karim Rashid is very, very pink. At the risk of stereotyping, we'll assume this design Asus Eee PC 1218 AC adapter will find more traction on the female side of the market, but it's great to see Asus reaching out beyond the technology industry to renowned designer Karim Rashid to spice things up a little.

Basic Specifications:
10.1″ 1024 x 600 display;
1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 CPU with Intel NM10, GMA3150;
2GB RAM;
250GB HDD + 500GB ASUS Online WebStorage;
Windows 7 Starter;
Weight: 1.13kg(without the Asus Eee PC 1008P charger);
802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, Gigabit LAN;
2 x USB, 1.3MP webcam, card reader, Mini VGA port, mic and headphone out;
3-cell battery (5.5 hour battery life).

Asus calls it digi-wave and it does not disappoint. The cover feels great in your hands and it gives a much more prestigious look than the ubiquitous gloss finish that every other netbook uses. Furthermore, if you are keen on the masculine-feminine character of your gadgets, you have two colors to choose from: a matte coffee brown for the guys, and a hot, glossy, pink for the girls.

The 10.in screen is not only annoyingly reflective, but has rather limited brightness and contrast. Asus probably won't be the last company to fit a low-grade screen to a netbook, but it's perhaps more disappointing to find one here on a more design-conscious machine Asus Eee PC 1005HA charger. And we found the desktop experience was hindered further by the choice of desktop wallpaper.

The Eee PC 1008P's screen is nice to read text on and watch online videos. The isolated keyboard sports tightly packed keys which don't flex and provide good feedback--typing on the Eee PC 1008P's keyboard is comfortable. Its gesture-enabled touchpad is nicely textured--this helps a lot while navigating the mouse on the screen, in terms of feedback. The single strip mouse button takes a little time getting used to, though. Audio from the Eee PC 1008P's onboard speakers isn't very great, but plug in a pair of headphones and it's as good as sound from any other netbook.

Like the standard Seashell netbooks, this 1008P also features Express Gate -- an alternative Asus Eee PC 1201K charger graphical user interface that's less capable but boots far more quickly than Windows 7. Hit the alternative power button to the top left of the keyboard and you'll be given access to a Web browser, instant-messaging client and multimedia files in under 10 seconds.

Lift the Eee PC 1008P’s lid and the inside is just as good-looking as the outside, although it’s a good deal tamer. There’s a near full-size (around 90%) Scrabble tile keyboard with good size keys, and it feels solid across its whole width. The multi-touch trackpad is nice and large too, and although it’s simply a slightly textured part of the plastic palm-rest, the matte finish means that it works smoothly under a Asus Eee PC 1201T adapter sweaty fingertip.

The thing is, while integrated graphics chips like the one in the 1008P often help conserve battery life, that's not really the case here. Asus ships the 1008P with just a three-cell battery, and no six-cell upgrade is available. During our strenuous battery-rundown test, in which we stream video wirelessly until the battery dies, the 1008P lasted only 2 hours and 49 minutes. We typically expect closer to five hours for a netbook, so this is a disappointment. You can buy an additional three-cell battery for $50.

Overall it's the externals rather than the spec of this machine that makes it special and while it delivers on the designer look and feel, you'll have to really be concerned with Asus Eee PC 1215 charger appearances to justify paying the £50 premium over the standard Asus Seashell.

Lenovo ThinkPad R50e Overview & Specs

The R50e, office Aps, Brio, DB2, etc. all going in the background and still surfing the web or reading email. Wireless connections Lenovo ThinkPad R32 battery are painless and the keyboard is great. It seems like Lenovo has lowered prices on thinkpads since they bought it.

Quick Specifications:

Processor: Intel Pentium M 735 / 1.7 GHz
Memory: 256.0 MB / 2.0 GB (max)
Hard Drive: 40.0 GB - 4200.0 rpm
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Display Type: 14.1 in TFT active matrix
Lenovo ThinkPad R50 adapter
Max Resolution: 1024 x 768 ( XGA )
Graphics Processor: Intel Extreme Graphics 2 Dynamic Video Memory Technology 2.0
Optical Drive: CD-RW / DVD-ROM combo - Integrated

The top surface of the R50 has a nice, rubberized feel that is quite easy to grip. The keyboard is full-size, and very tactile. It's missing a Windows button, and it's not for want of space. Credit it to typical IBM stubbornness. IBM lists the ThinkPad R50’s weight as 6.6lbs (2.5 kg), but it is actually lighter than my old Toshiba Satellite 3000, which was also supposed Lenovo Thinkpad T510 adapter to be "2.5 kg". The weight of the R50 is a comfortable one, and not burdensome in the least.

The R50 ThinkPad comes in a cool matte black finish. It has a rugged feel to it that would surely appeal to all types of users – nerds, yuppies, stay-at-home moms. The tactile keyboard is very user-friendly and responsive. If you’re on the fence about using a pad or a small stick, then this notebook is custom-made for you. It has both. You even have an option of replacing the caps Lenovo Thinkpad SL500 adapter depending on whether you have large or small fingertips.

Other neat touches are the keyboard light and the hard disk shock absorber (a standard feature of the ThinkPad range), which helps protect your data if the notebook is accidentally dropped.

The fan is pretty quiet, it will run at it's mid speed which isn't loud at all, but when you boot it up and it runs at it's full speed for like a second, well, that's loud, but i haven't heard it run at full speed yet so that means it's doing it's job. the bottom of the notebook does get warm and i'd say that the entire bottom gets warm, not just certain parts. the exhaust vent Lenovo ThinkPad R32 battery is on the left side (my left hand) and you can see the beautiful copper heatsink/heat pipe cooling system which re assures you that this thing can be kept very cool. it idles in the 30-40s and when running folding at home at 100% cpu usage, it went up to 63 degrees which i guess isn't too hot for a mobile cpu. when i lowered usage to 50%, it would hover around 47-50, so that's where i left the setting. overall, great cooling.

What disappointed is, though, to find only two USB 2 ports, no FireWire, card reader or S-Video output. There are dual Type II PC Card slots, 10/100 Ethernet and 802.11b/g, but no infrared.

In conclusion, I am very happy with the R50 indeed. At the price I got it at, it was an absolute steal. If you're looking for a no-nonsense notebook Lenovo ThinkPad R32 adapter for study and/or work, the ThinkPad R50 is the one for you. If you want an all-in-one multimedia notebook to play movies on, try another manufacturer.

Lenovo Yoga Tablet Concepts A New Twist

Lenovo very nearly managed to release the moths from Lenovo ThinkPad SL400 AC adapter within the dusty recesses of my money bag with the always-about-to-be-released hybrid tablet/laptop codenamed the IdeaPad U1, and ever since the idea of a combined tablet and notebook has appealed.

The unit is 0.67-inches thick and weighs in at just over three pounds, so despite the 13.3-inch screen, it’s definitely a very portable device. It also supports up to 8GB of RAM and comes equipped with a 256GB SSD, so you probably won’t want for speed when using the Yoga.

It's far from a new concept, of course. We've seen quite a number of ruggedized laptops like the GETAC V100 Lenovo ThinkPad X120e AC adapter and Dell's Latitude XT2 XFR offer dual functionality over the years. The handy form factor has even broken out into a less brutish - but just as twisty - form factor in the Latitude XT3 and the swivel-tastic Inspiron Duo. Now Lenovo is about to take the leap into Ultrabook territory with its multi-mode IdeaPad YOGA 13.

Tablets thus far have pretty much been complementary devices. They're great for playing games, surfing the Web or watching video, but most users prefer laptops when it comes to writing e-mails, creating documents, etc. But the IdeaPad Yoga is intriguing because it bridges the gap between the two. It has full touchscreen functionality but also a fully integrated Lenovo IdeaPad Y560d AC adapter keyboard.

Lenovo's transforming Yoga device may be the most interesting Windows 8 portable to surface. It's a convertible laptop/tablet hybrid that aims to be everything to everyone who may be considering either form factor, but according to ABC News, it may end up arriving with more than one operating system. The Yoga is "officially" scheduled to ship with Windows 8 -- as in, the full Windows 8 that will also ship on the ThinkPad Tablet 2.

That bring us onto the price, Lenovo ThinkPad SL400 charger, which is notably absent from Lenovo’s page. It has been rumoured that it will launch with a starting price of £1,200 ($1,900) with the i7 version setting you back a whopping £1,500 ($2,380). Just to compare, the highest spec IdeaPad U410 will set you back £800 ($1,199) or if you fancied the Macbook Air, £1,249 ($1,499) for the highest spec model.

The device is scheduled to hit the market around the time of the general availability of Windows 8, which is slated Lenovo ThinkPad X120e charger for Oct. 26, ABC News has learned. There will be two versions of the Yoga – one that has an Intel processor and one that has a lower-powered ARM Nvidia Tegra processor. The ARM version will have double the battery life of the Intel version, sources said.

With the IdeaPad Yoga 13 due to make its debut around Windows 8 launch time, this is one hyper-flexible Ultrabook that we can’t wait to put through its paces. If you fancy getting up close and personal with Lenovo’s latest, now’s your chance — there’s a bevy of freshly Lenovo IdeaPad Y560d charger taken pictures in the gallery below.

ASUS EeePC 1025C Flare Review

In an age when every laptop manufacturer is in a race to create the thinnest, Asus Eee PC 1215N AC adapter, sexiest Ultrabook on the market, it's a surprise to see a new netbook hit the scene. The $299 Eee PC 1025C Flare, the company's latest 10-incher is out to prove that maybe--just maybe--the age of the netbook hasn't ended. Can the Eee PC 1025C carve a niche for itself, or will it be relegated to obsolesence by devices like the iPad? Read on to find out.

Asus Eee PC specs at a glance 1025 Flare Series:

Operating System: No OS
Platform: Intel ® Cedar Trail-M
Processor: Intel ® Atom ™ N2800 (1.87GHz, 1MB L2 Cache)
Chipset: Intel ® NM10 Express Chipset
Graphics Card: Intel ® GMA3650
Screen: 10.1 "WSVGA (1024 × 600) LED Backlight Display
Weight: 1.25 kg (without Asus Eee PC 1201N AC adapter)
Memory: 2GB DDR3 1066 MHz
Storage capacity: 320GB SATA HDD
Interface: 1x VGA Connector: 3x USB 2.0; 1x LAN RJ-45; 1x Audio Jack (Headphone / Mic-in), 1x HDMI port
Card Reader: MMC / SD (SDHC / SDXC)
Wireless: Wireless LAN 802.11 b / g / N
Battery capacity: 6-cell Li-Ion 5200mAh

The Eee PC 1025 Flare family comes with a new Intel "Cedar Trail" Atom CPU and the usual low-level specs we've come to expect from a netbook. While running Windows 7, Asus Eee PC 1201HA AC adapter, the Flare also has Instant On technology that rouses it from sleep mode in a mere 2 seconds. Presumably its "Flare" comes from the 11 different color choices available, including pink and purple.

Although the Atom is the state-of-the-art netbook processor, the Flare has nowhere near the power of a laptop. The keys on the chiclet keyboard are comfortably large, but the keyboard itself felt cramped to me at times. As has happened with many other netbooks, I often accidentally hit the Page Up or Page Down key and found myself typing on the Asus Eee PC 1215N adapter wrong line.

The rest of the features list includes support for up to 2GB of DDR3 system memory (the standard version will feature only 1GB), a SATA hard drive with capacities ranging between 250GB and 500GB, and a 10.1-inch LED-backlit display with a native resolution of 1024x600.

Connectivity options include 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Asus Eee PC 1201N adapter, Bluetooth 3.0 (the latter only on selected models), and an HDMI output, but also support for the WiFi Direct technology that enables users to share data between devices without the need of a wireless access point.

Enjoy superior multimedia performance on the Eee PC 1025C with its HD capability. Simply connect to an HDTV via the built-in HDMI output and transform the Eee PC into your own portable HD theater. With built-in 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi capabilities and DLNA support, users can stream music, photos, and videos to any DLNA-compatible devices in the home. Wi-Fi Direct enables users to transfer files wirelessly between the Eee PC 1025C and other devices directly Asus Eee PC 1201HA adapter without having to go through a network making it very convenient for file sharing on-the-go.

Lenovo's ThinkPad To Target High-end, Mainstream

Now, Lenovo's product(including Lenovo ThinkPad W700ds battery) commands about one-third of the company's laptop sales in China.

When the Chinese company bought the ThinkPad brand in 2005, Naitoh Arimasa, vice-president of Lenovo in charge of ThinkPad notebooks, research and development in Japan, received many questions from his old business partners, such as, "Can a Chinese company carry on this business after the acquisition?" and "Will Lenovo change ThinkPad products?"

Lenovo ThinkPads have a strong, Lenovo ThinkPad W700ds AC adapter almost cult-like following, and for good reason. This sturdy, high-performance line of business notebooks has long-set the gold standard for keyboard quality, with fantastic tactile feedback, great key layouts and slightly convex keys that are easy to find by feel. So when the company ditched the classic keyboard for a new island-style unit on its entire 2012 lineup, many ThinkPad fans were understandably concerned.

On the ThinkPad Edge 420 product page, Lenovo reveals one reason for the redesigned keyboards: A fresh makeover. The keyboards supposedly retain the traditional feel of the original keyboard but now have Lenovo ThinkPad W700 AC adapter a “clean, contemporary, inviting look.”

Lenovo classic keyboard
But it’s not all about looks either, because surely Lenovo knew it would be playing with fire by changing the characteristic keyboard on the higher-end ThinkPad laptops. On the Lenovo Design Blog, David Hill, Lenovo vice president of corporate ID and design, calls the ThinkPad X1’s keyboard “the ultimate keyboard.”

The classic keyboard was built Replacement For Lenovo ThinkPad W700ds Laptop Battery to last - strong, solid, responsive, easy on the fingers. And you could feel it when you pressed a key. In contrast, most of the chiclet, or island-style, keyboards I've tried seem soft and flimsy. They don't deliver the same tactile feel or response I get from a classic keyboard.

"Our patent pending keys offer a larger key top for a bigger target, a curved surface aligns your fingers with the intended key for greater accuracy," he explained. "We also have a backlit keyboard option which gives users better visibility in dark situations."
Sticking with the classic-style keyboard was apparently not even an option. Bhati said Lenovo wanted to use the same new Lenovo 41R4421 170 Watts AC Power Adapter for ThinkPad W700ds Laptop keyboard design and typing experience across its entire lineup.

As a refresher, the ThinkPad 2 sports a 10.1-inch IPS display, an Intel Atom processor and NFC, all powered by an alleged 10 hour battery. For the data gluttons out there, AT&T's LTE is on the menu stateside. Whether or not this pricing and release information holds true, we'll still have to see what else surfaces before making a final decision this holiday season.

If you feel lost or are having trouble with your business laptop, Lenovo offers several resources to assist you. The company provides user guides and manuals with step-by-step directions for many of the processes Lenovo 41R4421 170 Watts AC Power Adapter for ThinkPad W700 Laptop on your computing device. Support forums are located on the Lenovo website that allow you to talk personally to other Lenovo users. You also have access to an extensive knowledgebase and the FAQs section of the Lenovo website. If you need personal assistance, a customer support representative is available through email, telephone or live chat.
