I just moved form Japan to New York on the day before yesterday.

This is my third time to visit New York.
The reason why I came to New York at this time is to break thorough my limit and challenge to take new massive actions for my dream.

When I made a decision to come here, I had some specific goals I would love to achieve.
However, while I was on the way to New York by flight, I wasn't sure enough why I decided to come and where I should be going to.

I've been thinking what question I would need to ask myself.
However, I couldn't figure out what exactly I would need to think about and ask.
Finally I got my conclusion that all I needed was to enjoy each moment and try to have a small new ritual every day.

We all have dreams.
It may seem to be a long way to get the dream.
However, there is no big step.
The only thing we can do is make progress every day.
Even if it's a very very small progress, it's okey.
You are still going forward as long as you take new actions and have good rituals every day.

So I decided to try to create a small ritual every day while I'm in NY.
See what's going to happen in 3 months.

As to my first ritual, I focus on managing my money so that I decided to keep a household account book!

I am going to NY from the 22nd in January, 2013.
There were a lot of struggles and worries till I made a decision to go to NY at this time.

In 2012, there were a lot of changes.
Here is my short history in 2012.
I was in Vancouver by March.
I worked for a decoration store in Yale town for 5days/week and worked for photo-shoots as a makeup artist on holidays.
I was really wondering whether I should go back to Japan or stay in Canada.
At that moment, my grand mother wasn't good for health.
So I eventually decided to go back to Japan to take care of her.

Even though I wanted to continue my job as a makeup artist, I started to work for a very big IT company in Japan because I wanted to sustain my family financially.

However, I realized that working on what I wasn't interested in was a big frustration for me.
I became a leader during business training in order to get to know brand new employees better. Some of them had great passion and dreams and I was so excited to share our own dreams at lunch time.
Yet, most of them talked about girls and boys, which was super boring to me.
So I kept thinking about my future and how I could feel much happier.

Working at the same company would give me financial stability.
However, working at the same company didn't give me passion and compelling vision for the future.

Financial stability wasn't my first priority to concentrate so I determined that I should spend my time following what I really wanted.
Then I quit the company in September and started to work as a freelance of a makeup artist.

Surprisingly, since I quit my previous job, I met a lot of wonderful and amazing people.
They were so kind to me and tried to help me a lot even though I couldn't really help them. I was impressed.
I was just talking about my dream with my passion and my big smile because I couldn't get any idea of what I could give them to make them happy.
I seriously thought about what I could do for my clients, friends, and people supporting me with their warm heart.
I made desperate efforts to show them my gratitude.

At that time, I didn't have much money. I couldn't even go out for lunch.
I was starving sometimes while I was out.
It was my ritual to get coffee at Starbucks when I worked for a big company but I couldn't afford it any more so I stopped going to Starbucks.
Then I found what I could do to make others happy without money.
And I realized that there were a lot of things I could challenge without money.

I know some people say living without money is painful.
That's true.
However, I found something significant in my life by not having much money.

Money itself doesn't give you real happiness.
How you spend your life is more meaningful than how much money you have in your pocket.

I was so happy with the fact that I was able to think about my dreams all the time and arrange my schedule by myself.
Nobody can control me though I have to decide everything by myself.

Now I'm in my adventure.
I don't know what is going to happen.
That's why life is exciting.

How is your new year going?
Did you make a wish list?

I have not created my resolution in 2013 but I watched the video from Anthony Robbins about what we should pay attention to when we create New Year's resolution.

While watching the video, I made a lot of notes because there are a lot of significant points we should keep in mind.

So I would love to share what I've learned from the video because I am so happy if your dreams get closer by focusing on something simple that I am going to tell you.

What surprises me is that there are a lot of misunderstanding in our life.

Getting things is not your happiness.
Only progress is real happiness.

When I heard this, I was confused for a second then I totally agree with what he said.

Progress is life itself.
It is just in a moment when you accomplish what you really want.
However, progress is continuous.
On the way you are heading toward your goal, you can be happy all the time because you keep making progress.
Progress brings you happiness and you can control your progress because you yourself is the hero in your life. Only you can create your own story in your life.

Here is a trap you must know; change is automatic but progress is not automatic.
So if you want to be happy, you need to make a progress.
However, if you want to make a progress, you must make it happen by yourself.
You should push yourself to move your feeling toward making progress.

The FIRST STEP to make your resolution work is...
Have a compelling vision which must be something inspiring you.

The SECOND STEP is....
Get strong enough reasons to follow your passion and push yourself to get your goal come true.

The THIRD STEP is...
Gotta feel exciting everyday by imagining what you set as a resolution.

The FORTH STEP is...
Raise your standards.

The FIFTH STEP is...
Make your compelling ritual.
Ritual is taking actions continuously.
Don't get your should. Get your absolute must.

One more thing by which I got inspired was "Success is just a little thing."
This words are so powerful to me because everybody wants success.
Everybody thinks that it's tough and difficult to get success.
People think it takes forever so they don't even try it because they have their subjective impression in their minds.

However, as he said, success may be accumulation of a very vey small success in daily life which may be called "RIGHT RITUAL".

Anyways, for me, makeup is filled with a lot of love and dreams because makeup gives you a great opportunity to see the new world you've not seen yet.

When you dress up with cute makeup and beautiful dress, you may get the feeling like you want to go to a nice place.
Even when you are tired after your work, if you change your makeup and look at yourself at the mirror at the bathroom, you may want to go out to eat with your friends at a nice restaurant.

In short, makeup affects your feeling.

Let me introduce my concept when I work as a makeup artist.
