They played an important role in the operation. However, you may be surprised at the lack of their toolkit. </font><font style="vertical-align: inherit;">Here, they were expected to continue patrols. </font></font><br><br><font style="vertical-align: inherit;"><font style="vertical-align: inherit;">1. Armor? </font></font><br><font style="vertical-align: inherit;"><font style="vertical-align: inherit;">No such luck. </font></font><br><br><font style="vertical-align: inherit;"><font style="vertical-align: inherit;">Most often, ground pounders wore T-shirts, flake jackets, and many donated WW2 style helmets due to lack of budget. </font></font><br><br><font style="vertical-align: inherit;"><font style="vertical-align: inherit;">The helmet was not bulletproof, it was only intended to protect the troops from flying shrapnel. </font></font><br><br><font style="vertical-align: inherit;"><font style="vertical-align: inherit;">Hospital corps member James Kirk Patrick (handsome dad on the right) is preparing for a Vietnamese patrol in 1968. </font></font><br><br><font style="vertical-align: inherit;"><font style="vertical-align: inherit;">2. Primary Weapons System As </font></font><br><font style="vertical-align: inherit;"><font style="vertical-align: inherit;">it is today, Vietnamese documents served as riflemen until one of their brothers was injured. </font><font style="vertical-align: inherit;">Most corps and medics carried M16A1 rifles in 18 10-14 magazines. </font><font style="vertical-align: inherit;">Their magazine was able to carry up to 20 rounds, but the majority of complaints did not meet them to avoid weapon failure. </font></font><br><br><font style="vertical-align: inherit;"><font style="vertical-align: inherit;">3. Side arm</font></font><br><font style="vertical-align: inherit;"><font style="vertical-align: inherit;">The average document carried a .45 caliber pistol, each with 7 rounds of 5-7 magazines. </font></font><br><br><font style="vertical-align: inherit;"><font style="vertical-align: inherit;">4. Other gear </font></font><br><font style="vertical-align: inherit;"><font style="vertical-align: inherit;">soo also, either wear to flake jacket, 3-5 grenades that were packed into a cargo pocket, 2-5 flare in order to properly mark the landing zone, in order to keep as dry as possible state " I carried a "wooby" or a poncho. </font></font><br><br><font style="vertical-align: inherit;"><font style="vertical-align: inherit;">And, of course, you couldn't go on patrol without bringing you enough smoke packs to last. </font><font style="vertical-align: inherit;">During the Vietnamese era, patrols can last for several days, depending on the mission. </font></font><br><br><font style="vertical-align: inherit;"><font style="vertical-align: inherit;">Also, like today's good documentation, they didn't forget to hide a lot of dry pairs of socks.</font></font></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><img src="https://assets.rebelmouse.io/eyJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiIsInR5cCI6IkpXVCJ9.eyJpbWFnZSI6Imh0dHBzOi8vYXNzZXRzLnJibC5tcy8xODY2OTUyMi9vcmlnaW4uanBnIiwiZXhwaXJlc19hdCI6MTY1ODg4MzY0MH0.CmkmU3_kx-leNDRnUkKJmj49h6zv29lav0N26y7cmAg/img.jpg?width=980"></p>
