Needs to be executed (and by that I mean to never be given another established franchise or story line to work with again.

Let's start off with the beginning. Emperor Palpatine is back. This essentially discredits Luke Skywaker's accomplishments in every way and takes a huge dump on episodes 4-6. Emperor Palpatine was a menacing character, but he has been dead, by calculations based on the aging of the characters, for about 40 years. No one knew anything about his survival, but yet he suddenly built up a massive fleet of 100s of star destroyers.

The story would have worked a lot better if Snoke wouldn't have been killed off in the previous movie and simply he had amassed this army in secret.

The information about this massive fleet was leaked due to the Emperor's contact with Kylo Ren. Why would he contact him about his fleet before it was operational and in space?

The main issues arise out of the final act, but before that we have some other gaping plot holes. Chewbacca is captured and forced to enter a transport that is in plain sight and on a massive desert plain. You can see for miles, yet there's clearly just the one transporter. Rey and Kylo get into a force battle over it and out of no where Rey summons sith powers to destroy it. Everyone thinks that Chewbacca is dead and that she killed him, but no, he was on another transport that was no where to be seen.

On that note, Rey keeps saying she hasn't been practicing and training enough, but yet she has insane force & sith powers.

C3PO is presumed to have his memory erased and there is an emotional scene where he basically "dies" but no issues, of course there was a backup file for his memory. Thanks for toying with our emotions for no reasons.

There are too many force ghost scenes! Those used to be used subtlety and sparingly, but in this movie they are ultra plentiful and the force ghosts act have real powers.

Too many force healing scenes. Kylo Ren/Ben is fatally wounded by Rey due to being distracted by Princess Leia's final force usage, but he is healed instantly by Rey and now he is finally good again. But with this, he still held his position of Supreme Commander, why would he suddenly give this up? He can still influence the First Order with other directives and doesn't need to outcast himself instantly. At this point the First Order and the Empire/Last Order are still separate.

Now to the final scenes. The 100s of dormant Star Destroyers either rely on a ground or capital ship navigation system to launch from orbit and to activate their shields. WHY? Since Star Destroyers have been around forever, why would this be a necessity? They navigate al by themselves in space. Yes, I understand that people may bring up the "vents" from the Death Star, but that actually made some sense. You have one area that needs to be kept open for ventilation, whereas this makes no sense in the fundamental construction and operation of a massive space ship.

When Emperor Palpatine meets with Rey and at that time Ben, who are the two most powerful people in the galaxy, whereas he is a rotten corpse, he easily over powers them, but a few moments later after having absorbed their power and recovered his bodily strength, Rey musters extra ordinary strength and vaporizes him. What happened there?

Then there is the scene where Emperor Palpatine shoots lighting into the air and takes down dozens of rebel ships. Yet it is an indiscriminatory shot into the sky and he manages not to take down any Star Destroyers.

Visually it was a great movie and the fighting scenes were great, but the story choices ruined it permanently.
