They have to should be polite to the people and respect them and their ideas,
We were also impressed that Mr Zan makes an ethical decision all the time when he take a photo of someone. As a photo journalist like Mr Zan, we should have a responsibility to inform the information by means of photo without any biases or misunderstandings to the subject not only showing photos to someone else,

・What can you apply in your own role as a student of photojournalism?
As a student of photojournalism, we have to make an ethical decision all the time when we release to the social media for example SNS. For instance, we should care about who is in the photo and get a permission by them. Since we have learned many kinds of techniques and critical viewpoints from lectures including Mr Zen's lecture, we also have to pay attention to the news photos and critically think whether the photo is worthy or not, and appropriate or not.

Identify 3 feature photos from newspaper
Photo#1: Worldwide tributes to the victims of the Brussels attacks, in pictures

Sources:
The Telegraph

In my view, this picture can be considered as a feature photo and the subject is suitable. That is because this photo gives us an important message to us ans impression, As the professor told us in a class, feature photos provide a visual dessert to subscribers who digest a daily diet of accidents, fire and political news etc... With regards to this photo, which was taken in Place de la Bource, Brussels, after the terrorism, there is one important message the world's solidality for Belgians and against the terrorism. As you can see in this photo, many people gather and pray for victims and there are many flags from different countries on the paving, When it comes to the techniques used in this photo, the merciful expression of the woman in front has been well presented thanks to the blurry background.

Photo#2:

Source: 凤凰新闻
In my opinion, the picture is a feature photo which provide a visual dessert to subscribers of political news. From the photo we see Bernie Sanders who is a candidate of American president was smiling with a bird on the podium. Actually it was a serious campaign assembly for voting him. After the bird flied to the podium, he seized the chance to say that it is a symbol of the peace for the world. The place of this assembly is portlandia and it gave a new meaning to the famous saying put a bird on it from comedy portlandia.

Photo#3: 3.11 Toll of grief/ Father and son have each other's backs

Source: The Japan Times

This photo describes that a father and his son are running in front of the elementary school which was attacked by tsunami. Rest of their family members died here because of tsunami attack.
I think it can be considered as a feature because it not only shows a piece of their daily life but also tells us that their family bond is getting stronger after the tsunami attack. In this photo, the father and his son are featured as a subject but still it emphasizes the background, which can be a type of mid-range shots. Because of that, we can see their good relationship and smiling faces after suffering from loss of family members at the elementary school behind them.

Response about the exhibition Kuala Lumpur Kita Je!

After seeing the smile and strong messages of undocumented kids, we remind of the important role of photo journalism, photography can make voiceless sound.

The aim of this exhibition is not only to let us know the reality of undocumented kids in Kuala Lumpur but also to know that how much they can express their feelings through the way of taking photos by themselves.

This is an very important topic because it is a serous social issue and a hidden reality of Kuala Lumpur that should be clear while the city is developing. Now these children are trying to make their voice louder by expressing their life and feelings thorough photography as a tool.

As for the Bakul Boy, the pictures by Bakul boy just made us feel sorry for the harsh reality of the boy. Photo 1: Friendship on the beach
This photo was taken on the way to Melaka for a trip.. This type of photo is establishing shots (or midrange shots). Though the leaves in front look distinct, we can still focus on four guys standing on the beach thanks to the contrast of huge ocean and human. The most appealing point of this picture is that the background of huge ocean and the leaves in front emphasize the friendship of four guys.

Photo 2: Fear and sadness
The photo is taken in Batu caves, from the perspective of monkeys living there. This is the type of midrange shots. From the faces of two monkeys, we can feel fear or sad emotions, In fact, when one of our members went to Batu caves before, she saw someone hit monkeys with no reason so perhaps they try to protect themselves. Nowadays, Batu caves are getting more and more popular and becoming a place as sightseeing spots. At the same time, the manners of tourists is getting worse, we think. This photo reminds us of this serious issue.

Photo 3; city with god
This type of photo is establishing shots. Though everyone tend to take this gold statue from the front side, we still can see the beautiful landscape from the perspective of this statue as if the god always look around the city and protect the people.

What is photojournalism in terms of "agents of change".

Unlike photography, photo journalism will tell us a story of what is happening in the other side of the world in a way of photography as a universal language.

Also, photo journalism has a power to change the world by giving a great emotional impact on people's mind. Since photographs taken by photojournalists can be appeared in mass media, they will create a communication with people,

That is why, photo journalism plays an important role to change the world and make a sound for voiceless people.

Examples of newsworthy photos.
(cited from BBC news; Syrian refugees settle into new lives in Canada)

The photograph below shows that Syrian refugees settled into Canada and started new life there. But they also have an anxiety for their future in foreign country.

She is from Syria and started a new life in Canada. She is actually smiling and holding her hands wearing Canada themed gloves. At a first glance, she looks happy after escaping from Syria and expects a whole new life in Canada, but the scenery behind her implies her fear and future harsh reality which she will face. Because of this technical effect, people will get a complex impression on this photograph; apparently, it looks like the photo of the girl who has been already assimilated to Canada with comfortable life, but at the same time, the contrast between her smile and gray background surrounding her makes us feel strange(pelik).
