Japan in France

こんにちは !

Today, I will explain how French people, and more generally European people see Japan. If something hurts you, don't forget some of them are clichés, as you have about French people. Feel free to explain what is wrong.

In Europe, we think that :

- Japan is kawaii and fanciful ( music, fashion, we imagine a lot of cute little animals )
- a lot of Japanese wear masks.
- Japanese work a lot.
- Japan is high-tech.
- Japonese eat stange things. Of course, it is a question of habits, in France we eat horses, snails and froggs...
- ...but we also love Japanese food. Unfortunately, it is adapt to our tastes so I don't think it is really what you eat in Japan. Moreover, a lot of restaurant make Japanese, Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese food in the same time which tends to annoy me since it is different culture.

An exemple of Japanese food adapt to occidental tastes

ლ(´ڡ`ლ) YUM !

An exemple of a French menu in a Japanese restaurant

And of course, we also think about chopsticks, cosplay and mangas.

And some exemple of mangas in France ( I chosed cover with my favorite characters ).

In France, a lot of young people love Japan because of mangas, J-pop and the kawaii universe. What is true and what is wrong ? Leave a comment.
My next post will deal with French clichés.
カタコンブ・ド・パリ

Hey ! (≧∇≦)/

For my first real post, I will speak about the Catacombs of Paris ( カタコンブ・ド・パリ ).

In fact, I wanted to start with the well-known Notre Dame de Paris ( ノートルダム大聖堂 (パリ) ) but I don't find my photos... :( My computer is so in mess but I will find them !

Ok, so first you have to know that if you want to visit the catacombs, you will have to be patient... because the queue is long, very very long... (>_<)

Once you finished queueing, you have to go down stair, and there are a lots of stairs. And when I say a lot, I mean a lot : 130 steps !
So of course, your legs and your feets are bleeding but you are determinated ( and you hope it really deserves all this pain ! :D ).

But it is not finished ! You just touched the last step that you think you are finally going to see bones and skulls but YOU ARE WRONG !!!

WHAT !!!!!

(╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻

You have to walk a long time in small corridors. At first you are happy because it is ancien and you can see dates engraved on the wall, but ten minutes later you became claustrophobic and you fear not to see the light again because yes, I forgot to tell you but you are underneath the ground of 20 metre ( = a building with 5 floor )...

And then after a long walk, you finally enter in a sort of room with a mysterious inscription. Boooh, it is quite terrifying ! :o

I let you see.

It reads " Arrête, c'est ici l'empire de la mort " which means " Stop !
