Escape from being bombarded every day with information
and demands from all the different kinds of communication
– cell phones, emails, computers, we name it?

I was reading an article by a neurobiologist
who was saying that this type of bombardment of neuronal activity
has a long-lasting effect on the nervous system.
And do you know what his remedy was?
A 24-hour-period of solitude. Meaning no communication,
written, spoken, live or recorded, with anyone or anything.
He thought that a kind of "national day" of solitude would do more
to improve brain activity than any number of "brain exercises."

Of course, he was speaking as a scientist,
but the benefits of a period of solitude for your emotional and spiritual
well-being have been known for thousands of years.
Many religions and cultures have a tradition of retreating from the outside world
for a period of time to reconnect with one's spiritual source.

And modern psychology also echoes the benefits of some "quiet time."

We all need time to explore our inner self and renew our spirit,
so we're all the more ready to tackle the demands of everyday life.
As the writer Pearl Buck has said,
"I love people. I love my family, my children…
but inside myself is a place where I live all alone
and that's where you renew your springs that never dry up."

Well, I've just read a great story about someone who did just that -- and after an event-filled life, went back to perform one last time at the age of 80.

Elizabeth Herring, "Bunny,"ウサギ as she was called, came from a socially prominent family and after graduating from boarding school went to New York to study ballet in 1946. One day, a recruiter from Bailey Circus dropped in to the class looking for dancers to promenade in between the acts for the circus. Bunny was hooked. She thought it sounded so glamorous, to travel around and perform in those sparkling costumes.

Her father sent her a telegram saying the contract wasn't binding, and to return home. Well, she didn't. She spent the next three years not only promenading, but also, among other things, riding horses bareback and lying still while an elephant put its foot over her face. And then she met a cowboy named Skyler, married him, and settled on a farm. Bunny raised a family, got a college degree and became a nurse. But she treasured those circus memories.

And then came the chance to relive them. ウサギBunny had been a lifelong supporter of many circus charities, and to raise money for a benefit she decided to have one more go in the ring. She had lived a life of adventure and decided to have just one more. So she spent three months training and, on her 80th birthday, performed one last time on the trapeze in her spangly costume to great applause.

While we may not all be able to run away to join the circus, I think that keeping that sense of adventure alive in us is so important. What adventure have you always dreamed about? What calls out to you? It's different for each of us. It may not be dramatic, like sailing around the world or climbing Mount Everest. But we each have our own "adventure" calling out to us. 提著箱子他往外走 回頭看她那一瞬 箱子落到地上 他沖了回來

深深吻住了她的唇 他的眼裏滿是淚水 掉頭 還是走了。。。

她曾幻想他不會走 只是嚇唬她 他是捨不得她的。。。

雖然她清楚明白 自己真的闖了個天大的禍

他說的沒錯 他必須去處理她闖下的這樁禍

她曾乘他淋浴 把他護照藏了 醒來 看見他翻箱倒櫃到處在找

。。。激烈的爭吵爆弾。。。

最終還是告訴了他 護照 在他西裝内懷口袋

天昏地暗台風 他走后的那段日子 一個人 不知如何生活

於是離開傷心地 和父母一起 飛行機飛去國外居住一段時間

整整一星期 他們女の子男の子廝守著

2002年結束之前 離別 依然降臨ダウン

浦東機場 兩人的航班只差20多分鈡

是她登機的時間了 一句話沒說 飛奔似地離開了

匆匆上了飛機手機響了 她躲進洗手間 電話那一頭 他瘋狂地呼喊著：

看不見你呀，你在哪個窗口，我在找你呀。。。

她 泣不成聲 顫抖的手指 関了携帯手機電源

I was reading an interesting article about a book two female advertising executives wrote about their unique attitude. Their philosophy was that it pays to be nice. In other words, they didn't go in for the dog-eat-dog mentality, or the idea that you had to be out to "get" your competition. And behold, they succeeded and became one of the nation's fastest-growing advertising agencies.

 They said, "Actually, it takes courage to be nice. It takes bravery to help your enemy or give kudos to your competitor. It takes great inner strength to show compassion for someone who isn't treating you particularly well." And they cite research that has shown that taking the nice path can strengthen not only your career, but also marriage and even health. Well, I'm actually not surprised at that.

 What it really boils down to is that old saying about "what goes around comes around." And that is just a description of what you might call the Law of the Universe. What we "put out there" comes back to us. So, if we're expressing ourselves negatively in our thoughts or words or acting in a destructive way, the Universe is going to reflect that back to us. On the other hand, if we have a positive mindset and act for and look for the best in any situation, the Universe will echo back that to us in abundance.

上週末去了外灘15號剛開業不久的night club
相當不錯
總是不喜歡外灘18號 30分鐘停留是我的極限
但15號不同
内裝修的空間格局及色彩 燈光音響效果
軟裝潢等氣氛 都遠遠超過了18號
難怪 park97的領班跳槽15號做客戶經理呢
和朋友們喝起了champagne 喜歡手拿香檳杯
時而站起身サンダル隨著音樂輕輕舞動 加上 與朋友間的談笑風生
