Top 5 games: N64

Remember I started a favorite games list months ago?
Finally, here is part two. This time it's my N64 favorites! N64 will always remain my favorite „old“ platform, together with the Gameboy. It was much too hard to choose only 5 games, but oh well...

Conker's Bad Fur Day
This is hands down the funniest game I've ever played. Where else can you beat a singing pile of poo with toilet paper or use your piss at a tool? I love the huge amount of scatological humor in CBDF. Ok, I love EVERYTHING about that game! Poo, boobies and gore at it's best while keeping a decent storyline. Also, the multiplayer was really, REALLY awesome. Lots of different and innovative modes, for example Raptor. Raptor gives you the choice of being a dinosaur or an Uga Buga, a caveman. When on the dinosaur's side, you have to feed your baby with an Uga Buga, and when on the Uga Buga's side, you can fry the raptor's egg in a pan xD and that's just one example, I swear it's one of the best multiplayers I know. You see, I've got my reasons to make this my favorite N64 game! Besides, it helped me learn english when I was 11 ;D

Now listen to the sound of Rock Solid, the primeval disco!

Banjo Kazooie
Now this goes head to head with CBFD. Coming from the same game developer, Rare, it also features a lot of great humor - there are loads of pervert subliminal messages! For example the B.O.B machine with it's Blow and SUck buttons... or the girl carrying melons in the ending, the list could go on forever. This in combination with a great gameplay, a colorful level design and the poetic Gruntilda being my favorite antagonist EVER got BK in my Top 5 of N64 games.

One of my favorite BK songs is the music from Rusty Bucket Bay.

Zelda - Majora's Mask
My favorite Zelda game! Surprised it's not Ocarina of Time? Well, there's a reason to that - firstly, I had Majora's Mask BEFORE OoT. Yes, it took my brother and me a long time to save money for an N64 when we were little, and besides we weren't allowed to have one for a long time.. so we had to catch up on some games later. MM was the first very Zelda game I really played, which means it has a little nostalgia bonus here. But that's by far not the only reason I love it so much! I don't even know where to start. Let's summarize the story first: You are in the land Termina, the moon is about to fall to the earth, and you have 3 ingame days to prevent it. During that time you'll be able to transform into a Deku, Goron and Zora, which means you can roll around in your Goron-body and swim like a dolphin! This is pretty awesome imo, and probably one of the coolest features for me. Besides that there are countless masks to collect. Every mask has it's own sidestory and can give you funny abilities or even change your appearance. In order to get all of them, you'll have to travel between time. It's great how YOU decide which fate the people in Termina will meet. The more time you take, the closer the moon comes to the earth - and the background music will definitely get you in an apocalyptic mood. All in all, Zelda MM is a super atmospheric and thrilling game that noone should've missed.

Like all of Koji Kondo's OSTs, this one is beautiful as well - pls listen to The Song of Healing!

Pokemon Snap
I couldn't decide between Snap and Stadium. While Pokemon Stadium was the original reason we saved up for a N64, Pokemon Snap offered me a new gameplay that I never experienced before. So in the end I chose Snap, especially since I think this is a terribly underrated game!
The game sounds simple...ok, it IS simple: you drive through different levels with your Zero-One mobil and take snapshots of Pokemon, but this wasn't as easy as it sounds. Prof. Oak rates your photos based on perspective, size and amount of Pokemon on the photo and a few other aspects. Also there are a few things you need to do to see every Pokemon in the game. For example, you have to throw an apple to Charmeleon so that he falls into a volcano (haha). He'll return as Charizard then. Another sweet feature is the album where you could save your favorite photos with captions. I always made flat-humored photostories out of this and laughed about them for hours. There's no need to tell a joke if you don't even laugh about it yourself right?
Anyway, my bottom line: I really liked the concept of the game, and the fact that I'm the biggest Pokemon fan made it even better for me.

Relax while listening to the beach music ;D

Perfect Dark
Rare again. You can see they were one of the biggest reasons I adore the N64. I also wanted to put Jet Force Gemini and DK64 here, but in the end PD won... I already have 2 Jump'n'Runs in this list. Very sad for JFG though...even if it's a shooter, its nothing like Perfect Dark, so that this list seems incomplete;_;
What most appealed to me was the multiplayer. My brother and me played it all the time. The most special mode was the Counter-Operative mode: one player took the usual role of Joanna in the story, while the other player is one of the enemies that originally were CPUs. Ah, but there was so much more you just have to love...
My favorite weapon has always been the slayer, it was so cool to control the rocket yourself. And you could build your multiplayer character by putting together different bodies and heads of characters in the game. Btw, the graphics were impressive for N64 - not that PD needed to hide behind that though :)
If you haven't played that game, you NEED to catch up on it!

Both the slow and fast version of Airbase Espionage have always been my fav tracks in the game.

Top 5 games: SNES

Yesyes, the first part of my personal game favorites. Which, by the way, are no lists full of Mario (even if Mario is great!). I decided to post the box art, a screenshot and a song (out of the game, of course) I love to every game, since the OSTs are very important to me.

Chrono Trigger
The original SNES version has never been released in Germany, so I searched for..other ways to play it. I usually want to OWN every game in real life, but that wasn't possible with this one.. too bad, because it's my no. 1 SNES game. One of the good points is, that the character design is made by the great master Akira Toriyama!!1
My savegame was lost some terrible day, and I only had unlocked ONE ending -_- the standard ending when you played through the whole storyline.

Anyway, listen to the theme from my fav character, Ayla! The haaawt blonde chick.

Super Probotector (also known as Contra 3)
The ultimate action shooter. This is pure fun, just PLAY IT! In hard mode it's extremely..well, hard lol. I only made it to the third stage, but I felt like the king of the world even then.

This is THE Super Probotector song for me, the background music from the first stage.

Terranigma
My first originaaaaaal SNES game <3 it's wonderful and epic, nothing more to say. Well, maybe that it's not too hard, but still enoyable and nothing you'll rush through in a couple of hours. Go go, save mother earth!

And listen to the beautiful overworld theme!

Lufia 2 - Rise of the Sinistrals
I played this AFTER the 3rd installment, Lufia - The Legend Returns, which I really loved. I also love this one, but someday my savegame was deleted (which is one of the most terrible things that can happen to me) because the cartridge was too old. That makes me await it's DS remake even more.

All Lufia OSTs are great, but check out the song For The Saviour, which is also present in The Legend Returns <3

Fire Emblem 4 - Seisen no Keifu
Same as Chrono Trigger, this has never been released outside of Japan. And when I played it, there weren't even fan translations (they popped out of nowhere years later). Anyway, I really loved this game and came rather far for not understanding anything. I started to develop interest in FE thanks to Super Smash Bros. Melee, which featured Marth and Roy as playable characters. And I had A BIG CRUSH ON ROY xD hes not present in FE4, but oh well.

The song I remember most is Girl of the spirit forest, which somehow made me laugh back then. I love it so much and get tears when listening to it nowadays;_;

Types of "gamers" I dislike

I put the word in quotation marks because the people I'm gonna write about don't deserve that label >IMO<. I need to get these things off my chest because they upset me so much. You know, games are my biggest passion, I've loved them for nearly all of my life now. I own 11 platforms (computer not counted) and hundreds of games, so I don't want anyone to think that I have no clue what I'm talking about. It may be 90% Nintendo stuff that I play, but I know that other platforms have awesome games as well - it's just that I'm most interested in big N's exclusive titles which is why I mostly spend my money for Nintendo.
There's a reason I'm making this list - something has bothered my for a while and got me mad again today, which will be rank 1 on my hate list. Remember, this is 100% subjective. May contain cursing!

So, the first place goes to:

People who disconnect when they are about to lose an online match in Pokemon B/W
I'm not exaggerating, but in 4 out of 5 matches this is the case - in my own experience. Now this is a very specific type of "gamers", and I hate these a lot because they affect me personally. One of my most anticipated features for B/W were the random matches, but these people destroy the online play for me. I want my statistics to be REAL and significant, but thanks to some cowards this isn't possible. Besides it sometimes takes up to 15minutes to even find a battle opponent.. and the ones I find are nearly always such honorless ****es. YOu can't imagine how much that ****s me up. By the way, of course that problem is not only existent in Pokemon, but it's my favorite game, so...

People that are in my MH Tri team but don't help at all...
Another specific group, but that's just because MH Tri is the only (mainly) online game I've played. If I met those people in other online games I'd hate them there too! It's really terrible: You do all the work to beat the monsters, which can be tricky sometimes, while some lazy ass just goes mining the whole time. And in the end he earns the same amount of rewards as you - if he's lucky, he could even get better rewards! Unfair, isn't it? Opposed to this is another group of MH Tri losers that just disconnect when the battle gets harder than expected. It's really nice to battle half an hour and then being destined to lose because you could've needed every single help.

People that NEVER bother to do any sidequests
Just to make that clear: I know not everyone has a huge amount of freetime to get 100% in every game, not even myself. In fact, I have to choose carefully which games I really take on. But sidequests often show you additional parts of a game's story or even create completely new stories! A good example for this is Zelda Majora's Mask. Every mask you could get had it's own story behind it, but you didn't have to collect all of them to beat the game. But how much are you interested in a game if you don't even fulfill one single sidequest? Maybe it's just me, but this gives me the impression that some people just want to rush through games to brag about it or whatever rather than enjoying them as a whole.

People that constantly call themselves super nerds or hardcore gamers even if they aren't
These are probably exactly the type of gamers I just talked about. Those who are happy they played through 10 games and think of themselves as the CrAzIeSt geeky nerdy hardcore gamers. The kind of people that wear T Shirts or necklaces with the word "nerd" on it because that's the only way to show what they think they are, since with their lack of gaming experience they don't have a foundation to actually talk to other gamers. I absolutely don't have anything against casual gamers, it's not everyone's biggest hobby. But please, if that's the case, don't act like it wasn't!

Girls that try to make games a "sexy" thing
This could be a subcategory of the pseudo-nerds... girls that use games only to get attention and spend the most time posing for "sexy" photos with their controllers instead of actually using them. It's thanks to you, among others, that some - not all, by any means - male players don't think we're actually able to play games. Let alone be GOOD at them! Ok ok, of course only narrowminded boys would think that. In any case, it reflects badly on female players.

People who rarely actually BUY their games
YOu know what I'm talking about. Many many people don't feel the need to spend money for the games they play. It may be a quirk of mine, but I want to OWN my games. Not only for some kind of collection, but also because I actually want to support the companies that make my life so much better with their games! It's a bit like Mangas and music, I also think you should buy them when possible. But I'm not perfect either, I also like to listen or watch streams. Anyway, games are not streamed and nothing you just look at, they're more like..a relationship! You have your savegame which you probably spent a lot of time and effort for, don't you want this to be REAL? *screech*

Cheaters
The classic. Imo, cheaters shouldn't play games in first place, because obviously they're not motivated to put a bit effort in their game anyway. Or AT LEAST only cheat offline. You're destroying the fun for all serious online players... that's just despicable.

People that still think Nintendo is only for kids
I thought this was a dumb trend back then when it was N64 vs Playstation, but sadly it still seems to go on. Firstly, games don't need gore to be exciting and fun for older people as well - or why do you think Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Donkey Kong and many more are so incredibly successful? Surely not because only kids are buying them! These are games that are appealing for every age group and I really don't see how this is a bad thing. Secondly: even if you're not fond of harmless games that don't include death and guns (for whatever reason, I think something's wrong with people who really only like "evil" games...) , there's a nice selection of "mature" games as well. Just to name my favorites: Perfect Dark (+Goldeneye), COnker's Bad Fur Day, Jet Force Gemini (yesyes, Rare fangurl), Eternal Darkness, as well as loads of other "brutal" games that I just haven't played myself. By the way, Conker's Bad Fur Day is my fav N64 game - it's gory yet funny as ****!

People that say the Wii isn't for real gamers
Kinda belongs to the type above, but they take the silliness to the next level: not only isn't it for mature gamers, no, now it isn't even for gamers in general! Try Zelda Twilight Princess, Okami and Monster Hunter Tri for example and tell me these are no real games! And what about Mario Galaxy, Red Steel 2, Donkey Kong Country Returns, SSBB, Metroid Prime 3 and Other M, and so on and so on? No real games right? Also, Virtual Console is a great opportunity to catch up on some gaming history, or in other words REAL GAMES you might have missed. Btw the Wii is backward compatible with GCN games. May I remind you: Eternal Darkness, Star Wars Rogue Leader, Zelda Twilight Princess (was for both GCN and Wii), Zelda Wind Waker, SSBM, Mario Sunshine, Viewtiful Joe, Time Splitters 2 as well as MGS: Twin Snakes, Baten Kaitos, Skies of Arcadia: Legends, Metroid Prime, Soul Calibur 2 etc etc. Some of these were also available for other platforms,, which is really cool, but why should that speak against Nintendo?
So, you still think that the Wii in all it's glory is nothing for gamers?

People that think handheld games are no real games
A similar problem, but this time it doesn't only have to do with Nintendo, even though I myself am not really interested in a PSP. The only game I'd LOVE to play is Monster Hunter (since MH Tri is already one of my fav games). Anyway, Gameboy, DS and PSP have one prejudice in common: that you can't play real games on them. Why is that so? Just because handhelds have a smaller screen? If you experience problems with small handheld screens, it's probably because you missed visiting an eye doctor when it was necessary. Must be hard to look at a mobile phone then.. Anyway, this whole issue can be a personal reason for you to dislike handhelds, which is ok, but never gives you the right to say that the games on them suck. Besides, many milestones have successfully been ported to a handheld, such as Chrono Trigger, Super Mario 64, Zelda A Link to the Past and OoT, or the Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy series. Do you think they lost their glory just because you play them on a smaller screen now?
Or could it be you just hate games that don't have super real looking graphics? Just read on if that's the case..

Graphicwhores
Oh how I HATE them! If you're such a person, I probably hate you too. I don't think there's much to say. Why on earth should a game be better just because of it's graphics? Do you think the same about people? The more beautiful, the nicer they are in person huh :P
I totally understand if people want to have a nice atmosphere in games, but they really don't need to look super realistic for that. If done right, games can be addicting even with bad/outdated 2d graphics. Just take a look at NES classics like Kid Icarus, for example! Or Okami for PS2 & Wii, which doesn't look realistic in any way, but still it's the most beautiful game I've played. AND one of the very best!
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate cool graphics in addition to a great gameplay. But if I had to choose one over the other, I'd choose gameplay.

People that despise everything modern
OH MY, I nearly forgot this. That's like the opposite of graphicwores: people that are stuck in the past and can't accept that games are evolving. Most of my alltime favorites are also old games, but that doesn't mean I'm not open to new ones! I get it, all 3rd+ generation Pokemon suck, 3DS sucks because you get headaches, Wii sucks because you have to move your hands, Zelda sucks because it has gotten so easy, XBox360 sucks, PS3 sucks, just about everything sucks. Kay!

Alright, that's it!

Manba experiments

Yo,
I had to stay awake very long because there was so much to do for school;_;...why can't I just start earlier with such things?
Anyway, when I got bored I went to the bathroom and experimented a bit with different Manba make up styles. Now it's definitely sure that our Manba Meet will be on July 5th, which means I will be there, like, TOTALLY THERE, FUCK YESSSSSSSSS!
Ehehem.. at first I thought I'd go for a lighter Tsuyome or Banba style because... it's the first time I'm gonna make photos in a purikura booth and I wanted "normal" Puris to show my friends and such, but I just changed my mind.
You know, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna visit Düsseldorf again someday, so I can still take normal photos anytime later. But who knows if there's a next Manba meet?
So I decided I'm going for a Tomonya kind of look. I used my darkest bronzer to get that skin tone. It's The Balm's Bahama Mama (which I grabbed for 6€, yay @ TK Maxx!).
I'm so sorry the picture's so super dark, but the lighting in my bathroom is terrible and with flash my make up didn't even come close to what it really looked like xD
also, I only made up one eye. But I'll definitely practice this style and will surely take better photos then! (Note: tried to lighten it a bit now)

I know this will look so much better with circle lenses <3

Edit: Oh, I forgot to add: I already decided to dye my hair >this color< for the meet! It's from Directions (like all my other bright dyes) and the color is called Fluorescent Glow. Nice eh? Wanted to try it anyway.

Edit2: Sorry xD but today I saw a picture that looks like a super stylized Ganguro/Manba to me~ it's a promo picture from Illamasqua! I was searching for white lipstick and gloss on their website (yay, they have those!) and this catched my eye. But ok, I'm obsessed, I see Gyaru everywhere haha

Ok, NOW I'm ready...I think. Just wanted to show you this, it's a cool pic anyway.

Gyaru magazines

Heyho,
yesterday I ordered some Gyaru magazines at http://www.me-shop.net (thank you Pinky for showing me that shop) <3 at first I wanted to buy Egg's May issue with the D.i.a. mirror, but it was already sold out. Ok, it's still available on ebay, so I decided to buy a few other magazines (which I wanted anyway):

Betty

I made a custom order and the shop will try to get these mags for me.
Circle Lenses: EOS J203 Adult Violet

Hi guys :)
as promised... allow me to introduce my new Circle Lenses, EOS New Adult Violet!

I ordered them at Pinkyparadise for around 20$, together with a face mask.. just because it looked so nice.

I also used a coupon for a free animal lens case~ it took me a while to recognize it as a fish :D really cute, and I'm happy it's pink!

Also I got a free gift. It's so sweet, I think I'll use it as some kind of gag on special occasions like birthdays or such xD a "hook and loop" ribbon to put in your hair, haha. You can also put it on your clothes if the material allows it.

Ok, onto the lenses. This is how they looked on the product picture.
And here they are in their bottles:

AFter soaking them in multi purpose solution for several hours, I could finally try them out. Oh, was I excited!
At first it took me half an hour to get them in LOL. I don't know why I just don't manage to put them in faster, had the same problem with my Geo Nudys. And also, like the Geo Nudys, my new lenses kinda pinched my eyes for the first minutes. I already thought "NOOOOOOOOOOOO, WHAT IF I CAN'T WEAR THEM?", but later on I didn't feel them in my eyes anymore. But since it was at night, I couldn't take photos that really show the color etc.
So today I put them in again, and again it took me quite a lot of time to get them in...
Does anyone else ever have this problem? Instead of getting in the eye, the lenses just stick at my fingers and turn inside out.
And sometimes when I already have them in, my eyes kinda "reject" them and they don't "swim" on my eyes as they should. With the next blink they're out again O_O
Maybe I really just need a bit more practice...
Anyway, right now they're in my eye, staying where they are supposed to stay.
I've worn them for several hours now and no further problems occured!
So when it comes to comfort, they're the same like my Geos - at first uncomfortable, but after a few minutes everything's absolutely fine.

Now I'm sure you want to see what they look like on me! Let me tell you I love the color, it looks nearly exactly like the product pic.

Firstly a closeup:

Both eyes

I only liked one half of the pic xD I hate the right side of my face tbh. I look SO MUCH BETTER from the left.

With flash. Besides the fact that I hate myself with flash anyway, I only like the lenses without flash. Because I want my pupils to fill out as much of the free space in the middle of the lenses as possible. I think they look better on dark-eyed people in general, because they give an illusion of a big pupil then.

Here it is compared to an eye without the lens. The diameter is 14.0mm, and while this wouldn't be enough for others, I definitely see a noticable enlargement that's absolutely ok for me. I don't know if I looked good with bigger lenses. Sorry, I didn't expect the pic to be so blurry >_<

Now a little picture spam with the lenses on. If not...try it nonetheless :D? They look really nice IMO, and since you don't even feel them after wearing them a bit, I can totally recommend them.

Circle Lenses: Geo Nudy Green

Note: This is an older review.
------------------------------------------

Heyho! Since I'm going to post a circle lenses wishlist here later (not on this blog xD) I thought I could write a quick review about the ones I own first :)
I'm talking about Geo Nudy Quarter Green.

I bought them at http://lenscircle.com for 34,95$, which is, as I know now, too expensive for circle lenses. Shipping was great anyway, but due to the cost I'm gonna order at pinkyparadise next time.

Since I love my eyecolor, green, my first choice were green lenses. But I didn't want them to be boring, so I chose the most unnatural looking I could find, lol! They actually look rather scary from the near distance, but that's ok. I like the look.
The size is claimed as 14.0 Dia, and the enlargement effect was really visible on my eyes. But that depends on your eyes I think, I've also seen people saying that they didn't notice any difference. On the picture below you can compare for yourself - my "naked" eye (meaning with tons of make up, but without false lashes and lenses) and the dolled up version, firstly in natural light...

And then with flash light, not much of a difference. But funny how the flash always takes half of my make up off xD

My only complaint is maybe the comfort. The first time I wore them they were a bit uncomfortable, but maybe I just have very sensitive eyes..now after 8 months I can't wear them anymore because they hurt my eye.
Nonetheless I had a nice time wearing them and I can recommend them to you :) on the pic below you can see how they look from the distance (it's my profile pic anyway, but who cares :P).
