The game's enemies are divided into ranks - soldiers, who are armed with rifles or MP40 sub-machine guns; sergeants, armed with service pistols, with some manning fixed machine-gun nests and thus do not leave their posts as a result; and officers, who are also armed with pistols. In addition to foot soldiers, some missions also include enemy tanks and armored cars operating in the area. If any commando is spotted, enemies will usually order them to halt in order to capture them, and will only fire on them if they fail to comply or witness any hostile action. If an enemy detects something suspicious, such as seeing footprints or dead bodies, or hearing gunshots and other unusual noises, they will immediately investigate what the cause is. In most missions, an alarm will be raised if the enemy discovers they are under attack, such as an explosion happening in their vicinity. When this happens, the enemy will be more active and will more likely shoot the commandos if they see them, and more soldiers will deploy from garrisons, marked by flags, to patrol the area. If the alarm is raised, the completion of a mission is made much more difficult; in some missions, the sounding of an alarm will cause instant mission failure.

It was ultimately the German market's fourth-best-selling computer game of 1998 as a whole. Commandos achieved global sales of 600,000 units by November 1998. At the 1999 Milia festival in Cannes, it took home a 'Gold' prize for revenues above €16 million in the European Union during 1998. The 'bad certs' that have caused problems for Windows users may show up in the keychain access section on some Macs. These need to be deleted / moved to trash.

The DoD Root CA 2 & 3 you are removing has a light blue frame, leave the yellow frame version. The icons may or may not have a red circle with the white x

double click the allcerts.zip file (it'll automatically extract into a new folder)

Option 1 to install the certificates (semi automated):

From inside the AllCerts extracted folder, select all of the certificates

In the Enable (selection box), change to All Applications

Alright, Minecraft lovers, who here is tired of futzing with the app on your phones? For a game about exploration and infinite possibilities, Minecraft just doesn’t seem to fit with a hand-sized screen. Plus, for the serious gamers out there, Minecraft should be played online and on your computer, because your computer has much better specs than any of your mobile devices — especially if you’ve put as much time and money into building up your machine as I have mine. Now, I know what you’re thinking: you’re thinking about the Xbox versions and other console versions that would allow me to play on my TV. And that’s great, if you already own the console. But for those of us who don’t, it’s harder to justify purchasing one than it is to upgrade the computer we already have. Thinking what an investment my computer has been, it gets really frustrating thinking that I’m spending most of my prime game time on my mobile. Branch out into the PC and Mac online world to extend your gaming experience. Best of all, I’m going to walk you through a free way to play.

This is particularly relevant to all of the students reading this, as often your only computer you have reliable access to is likely a library computer, and while colleges and libraries have eased up on a lot of their old restirictions for the use of public computers, almost of all of them (don’t get me wrong, for good reason) still won’t let you download or install new software onto the computer without administrative permission. And if your librarians are like some of the ones I had at my school, that permission isn’t going to come. Since 2009, the game has blossomed to a number of different platforms including Xbox, Playstation, Windows Phone and the aforementioned mobile and desktop devices.

There may be a variety of reasons why Minecraft is not available online. One being you’re limited to the bandwidth of your internet connection to send and receive the entire game in real time as opposed to downloading a chunk of it and storing it on your device.

But what happens if you aren’t allowed to download any apps or software onto your computer, then what are your options for playing Minecraft? Or if you’re at an internet cafe where you’re renting time on a machine. I’ve come across many people that aren’t allowed to download anything on their work computer or on their school computer.

You may have heard of an Android emulator previously, but if not I’ll walk you through a bit about how it works and why this innovative trick works so well. Basically, an emulator is a piece of software that emulates something that it is not. In software, this is often referring to emulating an operating system that is not native to the device.

You may have experience with an emulator if you have run Windows on a Mac, but using something like Parallels instead of Boot Camp, or a somewhat similar but different way of logging into a VPN. In this case, we will use an Android emulator to run Minecraft apk files that are meant to run on an Android device.

Now, a couple of things I need to address before I go on. The thing about most emulators is that you have to have them. Which means, you download the file, install it, give it the appropriate permissions… all things which our stern, hypothetical librarian won’t let you do. However, as you read on, you’ll see I’ve found a nice workaround for this.

The second thing is, yes, I said Android. Maybe you’ve been playing Minecraft through an apple device. Your account, your history, everything is Apple. You don’t even have an Android device. This can be a problem because most (if not all) Android emulators require a Google Play account… usually with a confirmed linked Android phone. Unfortunately, I just haven’t found an iOS emulation option that I’m comfortable in recommending. Yet. I’m always open to suggestions, though, and if you’ve found something that you like, please let me know in the comments, and I’ll play around with it and see what I think.

Now, as to that first (and much simpler) problem of downloads: The awesome thing about the solution I use in this article is that there is an online Android emulator where the entire emulator is run through a web browser. This means you won’t have to download and run the app on your computer at all.

You can also play multiplayer with this option just as you would on a normal app. You connect to your local WiFi and that will connect to the Minecraft servers. From there, you can jump into multiplayer games and start chatting with your friends and foes.

I’m going to walk you through how to get Manymo setup and running Minecraft in less than 10 minutes. There are a lot of different options for Android emulators but Manymo is the only one available solely online. If you want to download the game on your computer than you might as well just get the normal Minecraft for PC or Mac.

Follow these steps and you’ll be on your way to playing Minecraft online.

1. First, make sure you have a Google Play account, if you don’t already have one you will want to sign up for an account and register an Android device with it. This will give you the ability to download the app apk files to use on the online emulator. It’s essential to register an Android device and if you don’t have one try to borrow a friends and sign in with their device. You will only need to do this once initially.
2. After you’ve gotten your Google Play account setup, head over to play.google.com and search for Minecraft. From there, download the app onto your computer’s desktop to use with the online emulator.
3. Now, head over to Manymo and sign up for an account. You will need to sign up but you don’t need to pay anything, just enter in your personal information.

If you’re a Mac user, you can basically follow the same steps as above for PC. There is a Minecraft dmg file that will allow you to access your game offline and be able to play on your Mac as often as you’d like.

How to disable the webcam on a Mac?

Firstly, let’s start with a simple non-technical solution that anyone can do. Cover it using tape.

Security and intelligence chiefs and even Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, are known for covering built-in cameras with thick masking tape, or scotch tape. You can even use the sticky part of a Post It note. Don't use clear tape, that won’t work.

Using tape is simple, effective and cheap. It could, however, leave marks or scratches on your Mac, or potentially damage the lens, so it maybe isn't a long-term solution. Let’s take a look at other options:

1. Go to Settings; to disable audio and visual inputs, you need to open System Preferences (either via Siri, Spotlight, or the top-toolbar Apple menu icon.

4. Now switch the audio input slider down to zero, thereby preventing any sound inputs from getting in.

Unfortunately, this isn’t going to prevent the camera from being accessed. There are viruses, such as OSX/FruitFly, OSX/Crisis, OSX/Mokes, and others, that are known for being able to remotely take control and record camera activity.

So you could either turn the audio down and tape it up, or there is another way to take control of the camera and avoid the risk of cybercriminals getting the benefit of these inputs.

How can they spy on you? A high school story.

In 2010, a High School in Pennsylvania issued a MacBook to each of its 2,306 students, then remotely activated the webcams to spy on the students at home. It didn’t take long for this to be discovered. Parents were outraged, of course. This massive violation of privacy and trust eventually ended up in court, with the school district eventually settling the case for $610,000 with parents and students.

How to disable the Mac camera within popular web browsers

macOS Safari, the built-in Mac web browser, has advanced security and privacy settings that make this easier. To access these, open Safari, and now click on Safari Menu > Preferences.

Within Safari settings, you can click on Deny to switch off the camera and audio inputs. Of course, with all of these changes, if you want to use it again, you will need to reverse these steps.

Other browsers, including Firefox, have equally robust and user-friendly security settings. You can easily switch off audio and video access for every web browser you use, making it that much more difficult for malicious software to hijack access and keep an unwanted watchful eye.

4. Once you download the file, extract the MSI file to the desktop, and double click on it to run the driver installer. Once this installer has finished, you should be able to use the scanner with the Neat application. You can delete the MSI once installation is complete.
