This was worthy of Agatha Christie! Usually, I figure these things out and really piss off my wife, early on. Not this time. I figured out the "method" but it took me quite a bit longer to figure out whodunnit.} The acting was on point. I thought Daniel Craig might come off as flaky with the southern accent but he pulled it off impeccably. All of the actors did right by their roles. No-one came off as cartoonish or caricatures of people. A film like this, truly, stands on it's writing. Bull's-eye! I don't feel like any of it will become "dated" and this is a mystery movie that will stand the test of time. Kudos to all involved.

Perhaps, we can look forward to a sequel involving the character of Benoit Blanc.
I think I saw several greasy smudgy oyster prints on the floor.

Upon entering the theatre back in November, I had absolutely no clue what i was in for. But when I left the theatre in the car on the way home, for the first time in 2019 (I go to the cinema every week) we couldn't stop talking about how incredible the movie was, how funny it was how enlightening it was, how the denouement was absolutely perfect and satisfying. Just goes to show that this original screenplay is more than worth it, this movie (shot on film) is a true masterpiece and nobody should hesitate to watch it. I recommend for children above the age of 10 under adult supervision otherwise you are in for an absolute thrill that you are not going to stop talking about for weeks; honestly weeks. You'll have an incredible time no doubts about that, go ahead enjoy it.

Okay, I noted the fact that Josh and the non-Aryan British couple were specifically excluded from the cult and murdered. What got to me though was the idea that because Christian was maybe kind of a shitty boyfriend, who despite wanting to break up with someone he saw as clingy and a little messed up stuck with Dany through the worst trauma you can imagine going through with any kind of partner, that somehow he deserved what he got. He was drugged and raped, pulled into that hut by whatever cocktail the cult had given him. His horror at what he was doing - and you cannot argue that he enjoyed what happened in any way - is visible as he moves into the room, surrounded by women in a ritual he does not understand but is unable to stop. Christian's sin was that he was a kid who didn't love Dany, who wanted to break up but didn't because she'd just gone through this awful thing in her life. I was horrified at the ease with which Dany was willing to let him go, to give up his life because his perceived infidelity had so wounded her. She was groomed by the cult to give him up, to cut him away and view him as disposable because now she was surrounded by people who loved her, who honored her, who felt her pain as Christian so obviously could not, did not and never would. It was for this sin that Christian and all of the cult's victims were sacrificed. My horror at this movie was that Christian, and the others by proxy, was given such short shrift by Dany and by the viewer. Oh, we are meant to think, he was a crappy bf who was going to leave her so TORCH THE ASSHOLE! Christian had done nothing to Dany beyond not love her. For that he gets screwed by the cult girl, by the cult, by Dany and by the audience. I'm a woman and I was horrified by what reviewers and commentators said about Christian and the lack of examination regarding the suitability of his ultimate fate.

Thank you. after 2 and a half hours i was sitting there going this was supposed to be the movie that rivaled Hereditary. what a waste of film... i would have enjoyed more about the cult instead of them fleshing out everyones feelings all the damn time. smh.
