We're back on US soil as episode two establishes this season's chief storyline there's something rotten in the Islamabad station, and Carrie's going to root it out, even though no one wants her to.

Only this time it's unclear whether she's been driven by a desire to put things right in Islamabad (perhaps feeling guilty for blowing up a wedding on the advice of bad information), or whether she just wants to get away from her daughter, a ginger haired reminder of her lost love.

Here are some questions the episode left us with:

EXCLUSIVE: EMTs who stopped NYPD cops from beating handcuffed, emotionally disturbed patient turn officers in Two FDNY EMTs say they had to bodily intervene to stop four cops from hitting a handcuffed patient, documents obtained by the Daily News show. John Tracy for New York Daily News Two EMTs say they were called to Brooklyn's 67th Precinct stationhouse in East Flatbush on July 20 when they witnessed four officers beating the handcuffed patient.

The emotionally disturbed patient was punched multiple times in the face by the cops on July 20, according to FDNY documents obtained by The News. The cops only stopped when the EMTs bodily intervened, the report said.

The violence broke out when the patient spit at the Emergency Service Unit officers and swore at them. The officers responded by hitting him in the face, hauling him off the stretcher to the ground and then tossing him back on the stretcher, the EMTs said in written statements submitted to the FDNY. The two FDNY emergency medical technicians were called to Brooklyn's 67th Precinct stationhouse between Rogers and Nostrand Aves. to bring the patient to a nearby hospital.

ESU arrived to restrain the man for transport. He was combative and banging his head against the wall, reports said.

"Pt. came out of the cell in cuffs. Pt. became combative with PD and (was) put on our stretcher," wrote one EMT in the Unusual Occurrence Report filed with FDNY brass.

"Pt. was struck in the face by an officer . pt. spit in the face of an officer, whereupon the officer punched the pt. in the face multiple times," the report said. Authentic Mike Quick Jersey

When the patient spit at the cop again, more cops started beating him, the EMT said. Cedric Thornton Jersey

"Three cops began to punch the patient in the face, EMS (had) to get in the middle of it to intervene. Pt's. wounds and injuries cleaned in the (ambulance)," the report said.

The account was backed up by the second EMT, who noted that the patient was brought out by ESU in "handcuffs and foot shackles."

After the first round of punches, the patient was "taken off the stretcher to the ground and restrained again, pt. was thrown by ESU again on to my stretcher," the EMT wrote. "Pt. sustained injuries to face and head," the report said.

An FDNY spokesman confirmed there was a notification from the agency to the NYPD.

After one mid season firing last year (Houston's Gary Kubiak), five clubs fired their coach by noon of the first day following the last games: Cleveland's Rob Chudzinski, Minnesota's Leslie Frazier, Washington's Mike Shanahan, Tampa Bay's Greg Schiano and Detroit's Jim Schwartz.

Although there has been some speculation about Tom Coughlin of the New York Giants getting canned, we don't and won't believe it until it happens. If he gets a strong nudge from ownership or management, perhaps he'll retire, but we don't see the Giants firing him.

1. DENNIS ALLEN, Oakland Raiders

LIKELIHOOD OF BEING FIRED: 100%. The Raiders already did the dirty deed in late September.

WHY: After Oakland's 0 4 start. and San Francisco, to sit 2 12. There's little on offence, and defence is older than dirt.

2. REX RYAN, New York Jets Zach Ertz Eagles Jersey

LIKELIHOOD OF BEING FIRED: 95%.

WHY: Team Circus paved the way for this, unintentionally of course, by expecting a bad novice GM paired with a pretty good, strong minded head coach and a talent starved roster to end any other way. These Jets are pathetic, especially on offence.

WHY NOT: Good question. Ryan probably needs a change of scenery as much as the Jets need a new voice in the locker room.

3. JIM HARBAUGH, San Francisco 49ers

LIKELIHOOD OF BEING FIRED: 90%.

WHY: Exactly. Jenkins in the first round two years ago, when precisely no one else would have done so, etc., etc., reportedly are determined to rid themselves of the abrasive, grating Harbaugh.

WHY NOT: Let's see. Three conference title games in three years, which no other NFL coach has ever done; his 43 18 (.702 percentage) record in nearly four years in San Fran is one of the winningest in NFL history; his three playoff losses have been to the eventual Super Bowl champs. And they can't wait to fire his ass. Crazy.

4. MIKE SMITH, Atlanta Falcons

LIKELIHOOD OF BEING FIRED: 80%. Ryan Mathews Jersey

WHY: You have to remember, Smith probably would have been fired had Atlanta not barely beaten Seattle in the divisional playoff round two years ago. Since losing the NFC title game the next week, the Falcons are 9 21, including 5 9 so far this year. One playoff win in seven years won't cut it for Smith.

WHY NOT: It's not unreasonable the Falcons could win out vs. New Orleans, at Carolina and thus win the NFC South and host a playoff game. After that, who knows.

5. MARC TRESTMAN, Chicago Bears Malcolm Jenkins Eagles Jersey

LIKELIHOOD OF BEING FIRED: 75%.

WHY: Just about everything that could be broken is broken on the 5 9 Bears. Trestman, a QB guru, isn't coaching the brain cramps out of Jay Cutler any more than the other coaches he's buried. Worse, the defence has fallen to pieces and the players for weeks have played like they don't give a damn.

WHY NOT: Some of the best plugged in Bears reporters think GM Phil Emery is safe, and because bringing in Trestman from Montreal was entirely his brainchild, the thinking is Trestman by extension is safe, too.

6. JOE PHILBIN, Miami Dolphins

LIKELIHOOD OF BEING FIRED: 65%.

WHY: Three years that flashed promise at QB (Ryan Tannehill), on offence, on defence. But three years that ultimately fell flat record wise (22 24 so far) and short of the playoffs.

WHY NOT: There's talent in Miami. Tannehill is operating in his second system. Is the problem more Tannehill's than Philbin's? Might be worth one more year to find out.

"I know there has been a lot of pressure on the workload here and that's not lost on me," Mr Ayres said when he addressed police at Maitland yesterday.

You are not the only one bored with that lone keyboard on Apple devices. For those of you who envy the slew of gesture controlled keyboards on Android, the most popular one of all, the SwiftKey predictive keyboard, is making its way to iOS 8.

If you prefer the default keyboard, Apple is updating it with a new predictive one with QuickType in iOS 8 that will provide you with better and smarter auto complete suggestions. It is context sensitive and will give you suggestions based on the content written so far.

This is a new app in OS 8 that acts as a hub to store all your personal health and fitness data from third party apps, such as Nike+ Move and Mayo Clinic. The app will allow you to monitor your fitness and information on your health over longer periods of time at one glance, instead of staring at them across multiple apps.

Previously, AirDrop Apple's easy but proprietary way to share files wirelessly works only between iOS devices or between Mac computers. Now, with iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite, you can share files, such as photos or videos, between an iOS device and a Mac computer. Now, AirDrop is finally really useful.

This is a close proximity feature that exists in both iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite, which allows devices on both platforms to be recognised and detected. Users can then continue working across iOS devices and Mac computers. For example, if you are typing an e mail message on your iPhone and walk near your iMac, your iMac will prompt you to continue writing your e mail on the computer.

Think of this as Dropbox cloud storage, but now integrated into iOS 8, OS X Yosemite, and even the competing Windows operating system. Apple should have done this earlier and it is making up for it by offering iCloud Drive at a highly attractive rate of US$0.99 ($1.24) for 20GB per month, and US$3.99 for 200GB per month. It is free if you are able to keep within 5GB of cloud storage use.

Family members no longer have to buy the same app multiple times across devices. This feature in iOS 8 allows up to six family members to share iTunes purchases across devices. And when children buy any app or make an in app purchases on their device, the Family Sharing feature will prompt the parent to approve or deny the purchase.

The iMessage in OS X Yosemite is no longer just for sending text iMessages to your friends or relatives on other iOS devices. You can now send SMS messages as well as make and receive calls from your iMac using the speakers and microphone.

The new Spotlight is more than just for regular searches. You can quickly launch apps by typing the first few letters that is associated with the app, browse for documents on your Mac, search for contacts or even search everything with Wikipedia within the new Spotlight.
