An incredibly lavish update of the Classic "Doctor Who" 1963) series, the Doctor returns in his antique "Type 40" TARDIS shaped like an old English Police Box. Where it is through Rose Tyler serving as the introduction to the series that we know what Rose knows, and is therefore not necessary to have any experience with the original series to enjoy this one. Unfortunately, with this new series chronicling the Doctor's adventures there is no regeneration scene from the Eighth Doctor (Paul McGann) to the Ninth Doctor (Christopher Eccleston) that had the effect of angering many of the show's fans.

At the same time, the "Father's Day" episode not only references Britain's Best Sitcom, Only Fools and Horses" 1981) when Rose accuses her father of being "a bit of a Del-Boy" referring to Derrick "Del-Boy" Trotter, but also the TV series, Minder" 1979) as well when Rose's father makes a reference to his wife Jackie as "her indoors." This being the oft-used phrase that Arthur would make when mentioning his never seen wife in "Minder. Although it came as no surprise upon hearing that "the Daleks always could fly, it's just that the BBC never had the budget for them to do so in the original series." With my absolute favourite episode thus far being "the Unearthly Child, it is almost solely because of Capt. Jack Harkness that I am looking forward to seeing the spin-off series, Torchwood" 2006) while also very eagerly looking forward to an exciting second series of "Doctor Who" 2005.

Hello fellow doctors. It's been a while. I've been busy "curing people" and with school. So let's continue. Gonna write a lot here since I've been gone for two weeks and I think I can spare some time. Time to finish reverends first campaign, and bridge the way to his second and third. Soon to be fourth. In case you haven't read it before, here's part one. You can find 3-4 from there --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Heathen and Anti-Craig walk into the room. I start to try and cast a spell, however Anti-Craig cosbies me, and I can't move. (Paralyzed) "Hello my darling" he says to Craig, and heathen grabs me by the neck and teleports, with me, out of the cave into the woods. Let me be clear Reverend is not a fighter Reverend is not bad ass Reverend can only beat someone up if they are A: Crippled B. A Child C: A crippled child So, if you can imagine, he got his shit pushed in by heathen. After batting me around for a bit, heathen presses me against a tree (from the neck still, as much as my choking fetish could enjoy this, it's a little much still) "How I have been waiting for this Reverend" "All those years, after what you did. My revenge will be painful. But not right now" Wow, it's almost like the DM gave me plot armor. "Heathen, your sister volunteered to be my test subject, you stupid wench. You barging in is what killed her. " "You are as full of venomous lies as ever reverend, look at what I did to myself just to beat you. " (So there's no confusion, she's wearing a mask. Also Anti-Craig looks like a skinny "Nice Guy" fedora wearing ass mother fucker) She takes off her mask to reveal a void of swirling blackness "Woah, sucking much wench? As it seems you're a bigger whore than when we last met! " Yeah, I made a black whole dick sucking joke. It wasn't my proudest insult, but I was really put on the spot. With that, she disappears. I dust myself off, look around, and see the Inn in the distance. Time to go home. On my way back, I spot a familiar backside. The whore that I've tried to experiment on hasn't noticed me yet. Time for science. As I sneak up on her, I roll every sneak check with ease, and hit her on the head with the hilt of my sword. She passed out instantly. I start my biological, and learned (pronounced learn-edd) dissection The DM doesn't let me have any more fun and goes back to Craig. Craig is not an interesting character. Craig is obviously the mary-sue that the player who plays Craig complains about in movies, such as the new Star Wars, but has yet to notice that's exactly what his creation is. I'm going to skip over what Craig did, since it's completely unimportant to any plot. Literally, the DM voided what he did in the cave without reverend, as soon as Craig's player got upset about what happened. So it doesn't matter. Fuck you Devin Anyways, here I am. Dissecting a whore. When Craig walks up, with his lesbian elf girlfriend over his shoulder (She nearly died in the fight, but I saved her life. Never got thanks for it. ) And The captain of the guard in tow. All watching me dissect a seemingly innocent whore. These uneducated peasant wenches will never understand what me means to be a true doctor. Needless to say, they didn't take this sight too well. Craig was about to try and kill me before I yelled. "If you try anything, I will kill her. I have a hostage. She will live a happy life if you just stop trying to interfere. " This stops everyone. I sew the whore back up, and inject her with a yellow liquid (Wonder where I got that) "Very well, she is fine. I was just performing a little science. Now follow me, and let's get her inside. " They say nothing as I pick up the whore, and follow me to my room. I place the whore on the bed, and everyone actually just forgets what I did, What the fuck is wrong with these peoples memory. We go through some boring talk about what happened, and then I see a giant ruby fall out of the sky, and into the fountain outside the inn. Medieval "Ruby" bitcoin. The money. I wonder how much it's worth. While the others are still talking, I walk to my balcony, Look back, and jump outside. I frantically run to the fountain, desperately trying to get my ruby. My ruby The others are on my balcony now, as I grab the ruby in hand "Reverend, what the fuck? " One yells. I don't care, I have a ruby. Then the ruby glows Hol up... What. A big demon man comes out of the ruby, as it shatters and looks at me. "You. " He grabs me, then flies up, and zooms off with me. We land outside of town, and he gives me a big speech about how a big demon boi is going to destroy the world, and that we need to kill him. Then he says that he needs to enter me. "What? " "I need you, to let me into your body. We would be separate minds, in one body, and you would inherit my power. " Power he says. I'll have power. The DM later told me that I was supposed to ask "Why do you need me though. " And it was because he was too weak to keep a physical form. I never asked this "Ok. " "What? " "I said ok. Let's do this. Power you say? Yeah, sounds fair to me. " "Very well. " He enters my mind and I feel a power surge. "+1 to hp. " That's it. That's all I got. The DM hates me. None the less, I look over and see a blonde wench in the graveyard doing a ritual. But, there's something about her that intrigues me. It turns out she's death personified, and I tried to hit on her. It was going well till I mentioned that I revived this orc. Then she got all pissy and started attacking me Fuk Midway into my battle of dodging all of her attacks (I am the dodge master) The rest of the pary finds me, They help me take her out. Her name is Esther btw, Then she laughs and summons the BBEG Who the DM so originally names tHe VoId WaLkEr With all of the imagination of a 6 year old. Well, we all die to it. The end. Except that we wake up later. In the same town. But another world ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Well, wasn't that neat? See you all later. That was the end of reverends first campaign. His next one will be titled "Tale of the D & Doktor 2: The cop out".

The thing is, I don't want to be given a message about anything in Doctor Who, and in saying that some of the best ways to put me back on track is watching a Tennant, Smith (Series 5) or Eccleston episode, I just want it to be entertaining and not preachy and retconny.

Ok, maybe I'm late to the party but I just stumbled across this old horror anthology TV show called "Thriller" from the 1960s and holy shit is it good! It's hosted by Boris Karloff (that dude can make the hair on the back of your next stand on end just by talking lol) I've only watched 3 episodes so far, but I'm really diggin it. Apparently Stephen King has said that Thriller is the best horror series ever put on TV or so Google just told me lol. There's 2 seasons and 67 episodes in total. The episodes I've watched so far are: "Pigeons From Hell" - This episode was brilliantly done! Straight up creepy atmosphere! This was genuinely scary and I'm a grown ass man lol. It's about two brothers who have car trouble and end up stranded, they stumble across an old decaying mansion deep in the Louisiana swamps and decide to spend the night. Big mistake! This episode is nothing but 45 minutes of pure dread. "The Incredible Doktor Markesan" - Fred and his wife Molly are broke newlyweds, desperate they decide to visit Fred's uncle who he hasn't seen in years, in hopes of living rent free in his musty, old ass decaying Uncle, now a disheveled, cadaver like figure decides to let them stay, but on one condition... that they never leave their room after dark. "The Hungry Glass" - A couple move to a sleepy New England seaside community and purchase the Bellman house…an old mansion strangely devoid of mirrors and for good reason according to the locals. Everything goes well until the wife finds a locked attic full of mirrors. This episode gets bonus points cuz it stars William Shatner and the guy who played the professor on "Gilligan's Island" Definitely check this out if you like anthologies and don't mind black and white TV shows. Nice throwback to gothic style horror and atmosphere.

So the BBC released a statement saying that the reason The Doctor responded as she did to Graham was because it can be very difficult for some people to have conversations like that and they wanted to reflect that. I can see that, and it wasn't that she dismissed it because she didn't care, she just didn't know how to properly approach a difficult subject like that. I understand why people are annoyed, I do. But I also get what they were doing here.
The fact that the doctor doesn't want them to hurt touch or hurt River was a way of him saying ' I love you even though she poisoned him and didnt know him. River was the most,important person to him in the universe she just didnt know it yet.

Series 11 was already pretty woke, I stopped watching at the lesbian pick up scene that had nothing what so ever to do with what was already pretty bad story, so much stupid from the gut thinking in series 10. The whole concept of adventures in science completely abandoned to social justice soap opera, themed as science fiction but with out any science or even worse very bad science.

After helming the 2008 film adaptation of the spy comedy series Get Smart, director Peter Segal is heading back to the spy movie genre with a new action comedy called My Spy. Wrestler-turned-actor Dave Bautista ( Guardians of the Galaxy, Spectre) is set to play the lead role opposite a 9-year-old girl, and you know what that means: it looks like Bautista is barreling straight into territory that Arnold Schwarzenegger visited in the 1990s and Dwayne Johnson visited in the mid-2000s.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Bautista will star in My Spy, which “will tell the story of a hardened CIA operative (Bautista) who finds himself at the mercy of a precocious 9-year-old girl, having been sent undercover to surveil her family. ” Here’s hoping we don’t see a scene in which he’s participating in an imaginary tea party with the little girl’s stuffed animals.
It’s unclear if this movie is the same My Spy as one that was floating around a few years ago at Universal; that one was described as a teen spy comedy at the time, but it’s possible it could have been reworked to age down the spy’s co-star. We wrote about this version of the movie back in April, when it was first announced that STX Entertainment had hired Bautista to star in this film.  Jon and Erich Hoeber, the screenwriting team behind the 2010 action-comedy  Red, wrote the script.
Since his breakout role of Drax the Destroyer in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Bautista has largely stayed in the action genre. But as his Drax performance continues to prove, he’s also extremely adept at comedy and has killer timing, so a mix of those two genres should be a cakewalk for him. As I mentioned, this kind of family-friendly territory has been well-trod by muscle-bound actors in the past – even Hulk Hogan starred in a couple in the 1990s with  Suburban Commando and Mr. Nanny. Those bills aren’t going to pay themselves, I suppose.
As for Segal, he’s directed movies like Tommy Boy, Nutty Professor II: The Klumps, 50 First Dates, The Longest Yard remake,  Grudge Match, and the upcoming Jennifer Lopez comedy Second Act, so he’s all over the place in terms of quality, but sadly tends to hover closer to the lower end of the spectrum. Here’s hoping this at least is enjoyable for its target audience. Every new generation needs a few movies about buff guys looking silly while protecting children.

So as the school holidays comes to an end in Australia we finish off with yet another release of a children's film. The funny part is that it's a bit like a recipe, as it contains parts of all the other films I've reviewed already these summer holidays! You take the machismo of Playing with Fire, add the silliness of Farmageddon, plus a touch of heart from Frozen 2, not forgetting some funny one-liners from Jumanji, finish it off with some espionage from Spies in Disguise, garnish it with the child-friendly action of Star Wars and you have a perfectly satisfying film called My Spy. Mr. 9 and I ate it up (and reviewed it) last week when we saw it at Palace Nova cinemas!

JJ (Dave Bautista) is an undercover CIA agent who is not exactly inconspicuous. After a weapons deal goes horribly wrong he is assigned to surveillance duty with tech-specialist Bobbi (Kristen Schaal. Their job is to keep an eye on a mother and daughter who may be in danger if a global terrorist finds out where they live. But JJ isn't exactly qualified for surveillance duty and it's not long before he is caught out by clever 9 year old Sophie (Chloe Coleman) the girl he is supposed to be watching. The two work out an arrangement where Sophie won't tell her mum Kate (Parisa Fitz-Henley) that they are being watched, but only if JJ teaches Sophie how to become a spy. The two don't exactly get along but over time a friendship develops, much to the chagrin of Bobbi who knows that this is a serious breach of the CIA surveillance rules. But, as expected, trouble inevitably finds its way into Sophie and Kate's life and we are left to see whether the spy training that JJ gave this precocious 9 year old will succeed or fail spectacularly.

THE GOOD

For a film like this, with a storyline that has been done to death plenty of times before, I was actually surprised at how much I liked My Spy. But my enjoyment didn't come so much from former WWE wrestler Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy, Stuber) but the confidence and acting ability of kid actor Chloe Coleman (Big Little Lies. In a lot of these 'kids teaching adults to be kids' films the child usually comes across as bratty and unlikeable but Coleman finds a great balance of clever, likeable and entertaining which Mr. 9 and I really found appealing. Also when you have a great comedy support cast like Kristen Schaal (Gravity Falls, Toy Story 4) and Ken Jeong (The Hangover movies) the laughter also lifts a notch too.

Mr.9: I really liked Sophie in this film when she is learning to become a spy. The part where she keeps looking at the explosions behind her was really funny because JJ had to keep turning her head around.

THE BAD

Bautista seems to have found his niche in Hollywood at taking characters who are large, muscle-bound, meat heads with not much going on upstairs. Alongside professional comedians like Schaal and Jeong his comedic acting can sometimes be painful to watch as he tries to compete with them for laughs but comes across more forced than natural.

And for those of you looking for an action film this is not entirely the case with My Spy. Although it is bookended with big, action, set pieces it is more a romantic comedy as much of the film is taken up with telling the story of JJ's budding friendship with Sophie and finding a possible love interest with her mum, Kate.

Mr. 9: It got really boring in the middle because there was no action happening. The bad guy was there at the start and then disappeared until the end of the film. It seemed different from what the trailer showed.

THE UGLY

For those of you who are familiar with Dave Bautista you would know that he is bald up top. Yet for some unknown reason the hair and makeup team decided to either spray paint or put a toupee on top of his head which is jet black and extremely short. It looks so unnatural and left me staring at the top of his head for most of the movie. Somewhat in shock and somewhat in fascination I couldn't stop looking at this unusual follicle choice.

I didn't have high hopes for My Spy after seeing the trailer but walked out pleasantly surprised at how a completely unoriginal film could be so enjoyable. Bautista's charm and Coleman's likeability really carry this film above 'just another comedy. An enjoyable film to finish off the school holidays!

THREE AND A HALF TOUPEES OUT OF FIVE

Mr. 9: All the spy stuff was fun and the movie was also pretty funny although it had a lot of swearing for a 'PG' film. Three and a half out five.

Waiting on Mathilda the Professional 2, where Mathilda from the 1st film has grown up and is a masterful hit woman herself yet still sees and speaks with her dead mentor Leon as if he was alive. Not till she becomes the protector of a young child in her possesion does she then contemplate leaving a world of death but doing so she fears her beloved mentor Leon will fade away from her memory. Question is could or can actress Natalie Portman pull it off! I'd like to see.
