Saturday night was a celebration in Washington, Ill., as the town's high school football team improved to 12 0 and advanced to the state semifinals for the first time since 1985, when it won the Class 4A state championship. Alamogordo's Audriana Chenault, foreground, defends a teammate at soccer workouts Tuesday afternoon at the Reiner Steinoff Complex.

With 11 starters returning to the varsity for the Alamogordo High School Lady Tiger soccer squad, coach Robert "Drex" Carter hopes to compete in District 4 6A as official soccer practice kicks off in 19 days.

Last season the Lady Tigers finished 8 11 overall and 2 6 in league play as Las Cruces High captured the District 3 5A title. This coming season Alamogordo will join District 4 6A with Hobbs, Carlsbad and Clovis.

Hobbs is losing 14 seniors from a wholesale mlb jerseys squad that finished 17 4 overall before falling to Eldorado in the quarterfinals of the state playoffs. Carlsbad won district with a 16 6 (4 0) record, they eventually fell to Cleveland in the quarterfinals.

Carlsbad also took a toll to graduation, losing a total of 10 seniors. Clovis wrapped up last season with an 11 9 record, however they went 0 4 in league play missing out on the state playoffs. The Wildcats are losing six seniors, but are gaining nine.

Coach Carter talked about how his team is going to prepare for the upcoming season as practice begins Aug. 11th.

"Just kind of figure out the team, get them back together and get them to jell a little bit," said Carter. "Probably going to re introduce them, a lot of them played together in the offseason. Bringing the players that weren't actually active with the Vipers (soccer club) and work from there, prepare for Mayfield on the 19th."He added, "It's not going to be that much different china wholesale nfl jerseys since we played them in the regular season anyway, it's just a reversal of roles only now we get to actually train in the regular season with our old district and then go challenge (our new district). So basically it's nothing new to prepare for then what we've done in the past. Just work hard and we're ready to have some fun."

Coach Carter and company lost only one senior last season. Five year letterman Adela Trevino will be taking her talents to Marshall University in Huntington, W. Va. where she plans to aid the Thundering Herd soccer squad as a freshman this fall.

The Lady Tigers are seeking to have their first winning season since 2012 when the squad sported an 11 9 overall record. The last state tourney appearance was in 2007 when Alamogordo entered as a nhl jerseys china No. 8 seed. Alamogordo fell to La Cueva 1 0 in pool play.

We've been working on a lot of conditioning, running, getting into shape and a lot of touches on the ball, so we can fix that."

Mars an offensive specialist at mid fielder also feels optimistic for the new season.

"I think it's pretty good right now, but we have a lot of work in the next couple of weeks," said Mars. "We need to work on our movement a lot more, other than that I think we're pretty good right now. We just need to keep working hard. Everybody needs to keep working hard, if they don't care then we're not going to win."

She added, "I think we have a really good chance. It all comes down to who wants it more, if we don't try then we don't have a chance at all. If we want it and work hard, we have a chance against whoever we play."
