how are you all? (^_^)

i just wanted to share to you all
my wallpaper for my desktop at work.
i would say, this is my inspiration. (○^_^○)
do you all know who that character is?

it's Snufkin from the animation Moomin. (^_^)

as you all know, Zukki called himself
Snufkin in his blog before.
after searching about the character,
i also liked the description of the character
and now i want to watch the animation
and look for the books. unfortunately,
i do not know where to watch it and
where to find the books. (U_U)

moving on...

recently, i just finished watching
the 2000 animation Cybersix. the animation was
very good and i really really liked it.
unfortunately, there were a few problems
with the plot and a few characterization,
with that aside, i like it (^_^)

also, i plan to watch the animation
series Ninja Senshi Tobikage, also known
as Ninja Robots. the last time i watched
this animation was 13 years ago. (^_^)

who said i'm too old to watch animation?
hehehehe...

i might find other animations i would
like to watch in the future (^_^)

national museum

last sunday we went to the National Museum.
i would say that knowing how corrupt the
government was under the previous administration
(i have yet to "evaluate" the present administration),
i was expecting a poorly conditioned museum.
but i am thankful that my assumption was not true.
i was glad to know that the museum (well most of it)
is newly renovated, air-conditioned (well for the
paintings), clean (no dust or anything) and well kept.
though there were still parts of the museum
that was being renovated, i was still glad that there
is budget for the Arts and Culture of our country.
i am also thakful to organizations (government and
non-government) and private institutions who help
maintain the works of art here in our country.

anyways, i had a lot of fun visiting the museum
with my mother, brother and sister. (^_^)
it was nice to see these works of art up close.
it was the first time i saw the actual great
masterpiece the Spolarium by Juan Luna.
one of the works that really caught my attention
was the tableau of Tau-tao by Feleo.
it is made out of sawdust, wood, glue and copper wires.
it is a story from a folklore here in the Philippines.
another was the painting Ang Pulubi by Ocampo.
Pulubi means vendor, so i expected a rather dark scene,
to my amazement, it was a lady wearing
a bright colored-dress (duster) amidst a pale colored background.
to see the works of different artists (Luna, Hidalgo,
Joya, Abueva, Imao, Manansala, Ocampo, Amhad, Sabado,
Nepomuceno, Contreras, etc.) both from the
past to the present was a great experience!
i'd like to go back there sometime! (○^_^○)

last night, i watched
YAMATO: Drums of Japan in SM Skydome in North Edsa.

i am very thankful that fuji-senpai invited me,
because it was definitely a chance of a lifetime for me!
according to fuji-senpai, the last time they were here
was five years ago and i don't think i'll have another
chance such as this in the future!

the performance was extrodinary and really excellent!
they were great performers from the Taiko drums to
the Shiamisen, great interaction with the audience
and fun scenes all with great smiles and enjoyment
on their faces!

i am also thankful for yanagi-senpai who was able
to get us tickets for the event!

Noel Cabangon

on my way home from work, i passed by SM Megamall.
i saw Noel Cabangon, a known artist, musician and
songwriter here in the Philippines.

His songs are about politics, religion, patriotism,
love and nature. i would say that he is an activist but
one who does not use force, instead, he uses his art.
his songs are quite direct but with his voice that is
so calm and mellow, you just can't resist listening
to the songs and learn from the message of his songs.
he has collaborations with different artists who
like him are "activists with art" if my
memory serves me right he had four albums under
Jesuit Communications. the video below is one of his
collaborations with Cookie Chua and Bukas Palad under
Jesuit Communications.

this is my first blog here in Ameblo. (^O^)

i will be blogging in English because i do not know how to speak in Nihongo in the first place

the truth is, i am a fan of a number of Japanese actors. though i do not understand Nihongo, i am thankful that i have a senpai who translates things to me.

i realized that most if not all of the actors that i look up have an Ameblo blog, i admit that that is one of the reasons why i made an account here. another reason would be it's popularity seemingly increasing even here in the Philippines starting with the Pico in Facebook, our version of Pigg.

i would say that i have great interest in the Japanese culture but i am still lacking in different aspects.

i will rarely blog here but surely, i will be checking it every now and then. hereare my real blog sites.
