There were three classes as usual, and I learned about Scottish parliament. The teacher, Paul, gave us some information about Scottish history. There is complexed relationship between British congress and Scottish one. I learned major issues such as national security or economic issues are treated by British parliament and minor one such as education is decided by later one. Moreover, I could learned that there will be independence vote in 18 September, 2014. I am very exciting because I get a chance to see such a great historical moment in this country. If Scotland will independent, some change may happen in Glasgow. It seems enjoyable and I can wait that day.

I went to Buchanan Galleries, my favorite place. I bought water proof parker in the official goods shop of Celtic. It was discounted and costed £30. Afterwards, went to Mac shop to buy power adapter for my Mac book air, because I forgot to bring it. It costed a lot so I thought ill of my father because he is one part of reason I forgot. The building of the Mac store was really cool. The historical building with Apple logo seemed like symbolizing this lovely city, Glasgow, the mixture of historical and modern architecture. It was so nice weather, so I took a walk along riverside and take some photos there. Finally, I bought Dr, Martens boots! which I never get in Japan because of size. In the evening, Ryuzo took us to the Chinese food market. We took a taxi to go there, but I hated an arrogant manner of taxi driver. I never want to use his taxi.

Today was my first holiday since I arrived here. I took part in a trip and went to isle of arran, which is the seventh largest Scottish island. It had a resident population of 4,629. It is said that the name of Arran possibly came from Brythonic for "high place". The bus drove us to a port(I think it's called Brodick) and then we got on board a ship and went to isle. In my opinion, it did not took more than 50 minutes. The view from ship was really beautiful, and I've never knew that there is such a cute isle in the Scotland. There seemed like popular tourist spot and I could see many families, backpackers, or cyclists in a ship. Our trip members were about 15 students (6 from China, 2 from Spain, 1 from Germany and Taiwan, and me). Among them, I got one friend. His name is Allen from Taiwan. He was nice guy and spend a nice time together. In the arran, we visited L-plan tower house called Lochranza castle. I read that in 1614 it was occupied by James VI and in the 1650s it was used by Cromwell. It was nice because I could feel the history of Scotland just by watching and walking through it. Afterwards, we visited Isle of Arran Distillers(which mean a factory whisky is produced). It is one of major sightseeing spot in this isle. I could learn how whisky was made, but actually it was really hard to understand their explains because of their Scottish accent. Also I could taste some whiskey. They are quite stronger than Japanese ones. I wished I could have more friends, but I think it was permissible range because it was first experience to go to journey with foreign guys. I tried hard.

Today, I could join a dinner party with Asian students. They are so kind and talking with them helped me to release a nervous feeling I've got since I came here. There are 9 people, and three of us are from Japan and rest are Chinese. Each of them brought some dishes from their flat and it was really like cultural meeting Japanese in Showa period used to have. It was really nice time and I've decided to start cooking from that day. The Japanese guy Ryuzo invited us to that party. He is not good at English but his lively personality makes him have friends, and I thought this is important factor to fit in life in other countries. He never afraid of making mistakes, he does not care about grammar, he even talked to Chinese guy in Japanese. I thought I want be like him. He also take us to the Pub near the University. I drunk local beer and Scotch whiskey. It was too strong but I liked it. Today was new step to better studying life I guess.

Today, I went to the museum called Scotland Street School Museum which is designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. He is Glasgow's most celebrated architect. This museum was functioning as a school and it is now a museum that tells the story of education in Scotland from Victorian period to late 20th century. I heard if you look through a city if Glasgow, you can see many buildings he designed. He created individual, unique style of architecture in this city. After visiting museum, we backed to the University and went to Japanese restaurant which named "Wudon". I ate Edamame and curry-rice with chicken flies. I could not thinking back about my family. If it possible, I really wanna go back to the Japan. I hope, someday, I can laugh this blog as a bitter but sweat memories of my first life in foreign country...

Today, I have three English classes as usual. To be honest, it is just boring. All students are Japanese from Waseda, and that is the main reason why it is just boring, But I can't change this situation even if I want it and try to. At the same times, only things I can change is my mind. I have to use this course practically as much as I can. I don't want never regret that I studied abroad. When I came back to my flat, there was a Anyu(?), Brazilian friend. He is very kind and told me you can ask any question if you have a problem. I was really happy with his kindness, so I gave him a Sensu and Japanese green tea. He looks so glad to get that. It is still 19:55, but I will go to the bed, because I have nothing to do now. I will study in next morning. Good-night.

It passed two days since I've arrived to Glasgow, but still there are a lot of thing to do. Pre-sessional English course was started from yesterday and it is really like the English class I took in Waseda Uni. The tutor, Adam, is from Scotland and has unique Scotish accent but it is easy to understand. However, when he start chatting to local people, his accent becomes worse, so I thought they can arrange their accent if they want. After the class, I went to Buchanan Galleries, which is one of the greatest shopping place in the U.K. It was really nice, but too huge to go around every shop. So I wanna visit again in soon time. I bought hoody, sweat pants, and backpack. In the dormitory, I became friends with five Brazilians and one Chinese. I still cant remember their name but it is impolite so I am sure I will memorize them next time. We had a couple of talk in English, but sometimes it difficult to understand, because of my poor English skills. However, that is the things I know since I was in Japan, and that's why I'm here. Never afraid of making mistakes, try, try, try. I'm well understanding more aggressive action is needed, but I cant make it done. But ma days in Glasgow is just get started. Don't worry, no problem. everything gonna be alright.
