it's awesome. it is very much a classic JRPG and it has a pretty awesome battle system. particularly the graphic effects make me feel like a total badass when i use the system smartly.

THE POPULAR STUFF 

Zelda Minish Cap (GBA) - Probably my favourite Zelda game of all time? The pixel art in this is gorgeous. 

Animal Crossing (all) (GCN/NDS) -  There is something intriguing about doing mundane tasks in video games that puts these games on this list. Same with Harvest Moon. 

Mario RPG, Paper Mario, Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga (SNES/GCN/GBA) - As a lover of RPGs, these Mario RPG games are fantastic and I prefer them over the main Mario games 

Luigi's Mansion (GCN) - I almost typed "Luigi's Mango" I was so excited.   Luigi's Mansion is basically Ghost Busters and it's hella fun. 

Pokemon Snap (N64) - The most underrated Pokemon game that needs a damn sequel. 

Chrono Trigger (NDS) - The Nintendo DS version is as close to perfection as possible. 

Fire Emblem Awakening (NDS) - Some of the hardcore FE fans didn't like the simplified battle mechanics, but I actually preferred it. 

Pokemon Yellow/Crystal/Emerald/Fire Red/SoulSilver/Platinum (GBC, GBA, NDS) - Nuff said. I particularly like the "third release" editions that include some additional content. Pokemon Crystal is my favourite Pokemon game.

Mother/Earthbound 2, 3 (SNES/GBA) - Self explanatory.  The first one was really hard to get in to so it's not listed here.

Ragnarok Online (PC) - So many memories playing this MMORPG with a guild and competing in the weekly War of Emperium and tackling MVPs. 

Tales of the Abyss, Symphonia (PS2) - The Tales games are generally pretty great, but I think Abyss and Symphonia are the best ones.

Persona 3, 4, 5 (PS2/PS4) - Yeah. 

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, 3U, Generations, World (PSP/WiiU/PS4) - Play Monster Hunter if you haven't already played World.  Each iteration of these games gets better and better. 

THE HIDDEN GEMS 

Pokemon TCG (GBC) - Pokemon, but with the card game. I love it because it kept the same Rival dynamic from the core games, which I feel is missing with a lot of newer Pokemon games.

Golden Sun 1, 2 (GBA) - Easily my favourite hidden gem of the Gameboy Advance era, Golden Sun is a series of RPGs that went unnoticed and is my favourite game on the system.  It was even made by Camelot who also made...

Mario Tennis (GBC) -  This Mario Tennis game is not like the others. In this one, you play as a generic boy or girl character and it plays a lot like an RPG: Every match you win, you earn EXP that goes into a different stat. It is very similar to the Nintendo Switch's Golf Story  which I also love.

Super Dodgeball Advance (GBA) - SDA was one of the first games I ever played on the Gameboy Advance. You play a team of dodgeball players who must win over all other dodgeball players. They all had special abilities which were very cool to pull off.

Vagrant Story (PSX) - Another great JRPG with a unique battle system. You can get it on PSVita now too.

Megaman Battle Network 1, 2, 3 (GBA) - I got into Megaman Battle Network through the Rockman.EXE anime. The games are very true to the anime and the battle system is one of the most unique I've seen and fits the anime well.

Pretty much any game in the Dept. Heaven series (GBA/NDS/PSP)  - The Dept. Heaven series are a series of games by STING. It consists of Riviera, Yggdra Union, Knights in the Nightmare, and Gungnir.

すばらしきこの世界 / The World Ends With You (NDS) - This game had a really complex battle system and a really cool art style. It also had a lot of sub mechanics like food and clothing which was really compelling 

Advance Wars (GBA) - I don't always play SRPGs, but when I do it is Advance Wars.  Oh and also

Valkyria Chronicles (PS3) - This is certainly one of the most unique SRPGs I've played, switching from top-down to third-person. The PSP game is  just OK.

Little Nemo Dream Master (NES) - Dream Master is one of the few NES games I remember from my childhood. It's about a kid in a dream land and I just loved the mechanic of feeding a frog a candy and you jump in his skin and gain his powers. 

Boktai 1, 2, 3 (GBA) - This game was actually produced by Hideo Kojima, and it involved children sitting outside getting sunburnt while a sunlight sensor on the game cart powers up the character in game. 

Dark Spire (NDS) - Dark Spire is a great old-school style dungeon crawler RPG.  If you've ever played this, you should have also played...

Etrian Odyssey 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (NDS/3DS) - My favourite dungeon crawler RPG ever. The world and the character classes are all interesting and useful and its fun creating parties named after your friends and family.

No More Heroes 1, 2 (Wii) - SUDA51 is my hero for making this game. He also made the fantastic Killer 7 (GCN), and Killer is Dead (PS3).

Radiant Historia (NDS) - Nobody really played this game, and it is really great. The story is told in an asynchronous timeline and the battle system is great. 

Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner 1, 2 (PS2) - I love the Shin Megami Tensei series, but most people will know SMT through Persona. I love the other games in ther series like Devil Summoner, Digital Devil Saga, and Nocturne, which were all for PS2.

this game is a real inspiration for me. i pretty much grew up with this game as my first grand epic rpg 

among them are base set venasaur, 2 neo destiny dark tyranitar, light dragonite, shining charizard (!!!), shining mewtwo 

this is my childhood  i can't believe how lucky i was to get some of these cards that are now worth $$$ 

I couldn't find anything equivalent to this one for English audiences, plus I like the additional features and character that this one has.

 anyway, we'll see how it works out.
