　１９７９年に女性ロックシンガーの生涯を描いた映画「THE ROSE」の主題歌として、ベット・ミドラーによって歌われた名バラードの曲。古いけど、歌詞に色々と感じるものがありとても好きな曲で、２０代の頃から時々聴きこんでいた。

　最近話題になった日本映画「余命一ヶ月の花嫁」で、JUJUという邦楽アーティストによってカヴァーされたこの曲が挿入歌として使われていた。これも感動的な映画だったけど、そんな形でこの曲と再会できようとは・・今回ネタにしてみました。
