Following the end of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar on Sunday, football fans chose their favourite player to win the $12023 Ballon d'Or award between Kylian Mbappe of France and Lionel Messi of Argentina.

Argentina defeated France 4-2 in a penalty shootout to win this Messi or Mbappe year's World Cup in Qatar, according to the DAILY POST.

Messi scored a brace in the World Cup final, which finished in a 3-3 tie, while Mbappe scored five goals.

During the Qatar World Cup, both Paris Saint-Germain players performed admirably for their respective nations.

After contributing to a few assists and scoring seven goals at the 2022 World Cup, Messi was named the best player of the competition and given the Golden Ball honour.
