Room lottery

Finally my room in Canada was assigned!

I am going to live in a dorm, single room in a suitie.

It is assigned based upon a lottery, so i can't complain, but I am little bit shocked to hear that. I really wanted in a double room with somebody! Because it seems to be fun to me, living with someone who have completely different background. Also, in that way, I can definately make a friends! Since I am really nervouse about making new friends.

But that is life, it cannot be helped, I will adjust to it anyway.

Today, I was checking about my room in Canada, I found that there's no hairdryer, kettle, etc....

I was quite surprised that there's no hair dryer!

What??? really??

It's Canada, Sooo freezingly cold in winter! It is sure I need it!

I mean, if I would stay in California or somewhere more warm place, i think I am okay without it.

So I will definately bring it!

Things are organised little by little, I am getting more excited and nervous!

There's a mixed feeling, excitement and nervous.

But when I think that it is not only me, my friends are also going too, it makes me little bit relieved.( It is true that many of my friends are also going to study abroad this summer)

I just remind myself that I can make it, make my dream come true!

Local festival

Yesterday, I went to a Local festival with Sacchin!
We both didn't know about the festival until we got there.
We just wanted to go around Ytai and feel the atmosphere of summer.

We were so surprised that there were actually a lot of Yatais there than we expected.
We had a yakiika, takoyaki and karaage, I think that is all.
The price was obviously high than usual, you know it is so called festival-price, but it was good!

We definitely enjoyed but there were soooooo many couples there, we get kind of sick of it lol. It made me want a boyfriend lol.

On the way to go home, we heard a hula-like music.
So we decided to go the way we heard the music. and guess what! There were our university Hula group on the stage!!!

What a coincidence!

And what was more, there was Chisato too!!!1

We didn't know she was supposed to dance there, we were so excited!
I saw real hula for the first time, they were so beautiful.
I was so glad to be able to see them.

After we saw their performance, we went back to home, getting ice and coke at welcia.
Sachin was constantly doing Pokemon Go while we were heading to home....

There seemed to be gym near the post office...

After a while chisato came to my room and we had a good time.
Recently, I haven't talked with her much, so I was so happy to be with her.

Gave me confident

Friday is a Mark's super class day!!!!

But today there was only me, there were no other members. So it was kinda man to man private lesson like. It reminded me of spring vacation, cuz I was studying in Mark's office at that time.

Today's article was about recent Turk's coup.

Recently military coup happened in Turk. Though the coup was crushed(suppressed) less than in 24 hours, it brought a huge sensation around the world and became a hot topic. There are two ironical things in this coup. The first is that Turk's president Erdogan has been aimed to make a Islamic republican, then actually the coup was carried out by turks military whose slogan is Islamic.
The second is although other countries such as U.S supported as a name of "democracy", the way Erdogan do politics was not "democracy" at all.
Using the power, he does anything to hide something which is not good for his reputation or government. So, the dictatorship will continue, getting away from "democracy".

Key words I learned today

-martial.....warlike, military

-negligence...carelessness, no intention

-subpoena.....paper given a person who are suspected for something bad

It was nice to talk with Mark! I confessed about my recent negative feeling to him.
Then he gave me advice, courage. Now I feel little bit better. I am so grateful. It is always you who push me towards good way from the deep deep marsh.
I will do my best, thank you!

Speech

Today, I had a speech!

I have practiced a lot, I have imaged doing it in my mind,

but i still fluffed.

But it was not that big, so let's say it was okay.

BUUUUUUUUT,

I was so embarrassed, in the middle of the speech, my legs stated shaking...
I was trying to be calm down, but I couldn't.
I got little bit down and hated my self after that, thinking that I can't control my emotion.

But although I cannot do speech perfectly for now, I hope at least this would be a step to be confident.

I will translate the speech below.

I have studied English with a strong will that "I will definitely go to study abroad someday". And now, I am very excited that finally my long time dream will come true soon. I appreciate everyone who kindly supported me preparing for studying abroad.
In Canada, I would like not only to improve my English communication skill more, but also get a lot of technical knowledge. Also, getting many experience, I hope I will deepen the understanding of different culture and religions. To be able to get back to Japan as a more mutual person, I will make of every single day.
As a student ambassador of Gunma prefecture, I will introduce great Gunma's attractions as many as possible while i stay in Canada. Here in Gunma, there are many traditional, natural things which we can proud of, such as Kusatu-onsen, skunk cabagge, firefly at Haruna lake. I will try hard to be a bridge between Gunma and the rest of the world. Thank you.

Speech at ceremony

Hi:)

I thought Oh! I can wright about this today's blog!, but I forgot...
What was it? What did I do? it is so frustrating!

Okay, I will wright about tomorrow's speech today.

Tomorrow, I am supposed to give a speech in a ceremony! I dont know what it can be called in English, but it is a ceremony to be a student ambassador of Gunma prefecture.

I will have a duty to promote Gunma in the host University in Canada.
It will be a presentation style, so Im already so nervous, but I am sure it will be a good chance to do something in front of people in English, you know. But I NEED to study about Gunma first though lol I'm not from Gunma, so don't have much knowledge.

Back on the tomorrows speech!
Yes, i will speak in front of the president of my university.
Actually, it was like I insisted, I was asked to do it.
First, my thought was NO WAY, Oh my goodness, I cant do it, why should it be me?!.
But, as you know, I was chosen as a exchange student this year, and I didnt want to trouble them saying NO. Because they always helped me a lot and I am grateful to them.

So, I said "I will".

Thinking back it now, I think it was good decision. It will be a good chance to practice that kind of thing. I strongly feel that I need to get used doing something in front of people.

But there's pressure too.

Last time I spoke in front of people in such a formal situation was, when I was in junior high school.

and I FLUFFED.

I made a miss in front of 700 people on the stage.
That was extremely embarrassing. I really wanna forget about it, but it comes again and again in my mind.

So, I am of course nervous about tomorrow, but I try to think that way,

IT'S A CHANCE TO SUCCESS

It is a time to finally blow that embarrassing trauma.

I hope it will end all good this time.
