ハーフスイング https://ameblo.jp/wih0024/ 英語を勉強し始めました。自分で例文作って英訳考えるのが勉強になるって聞いたからしてみんとする ja ホンハイによるシャープ買収 カレバカ世紀。スパイス調合に凝った感じのカレーでした。
スタンダートなカレーが好きな人にはToo muchなカレーですが、
凝ったカレーを食べたければおすすめ。
中目黒のRedbookよりは食べやすい印象。

さて、本日のレアジョブはシャープ買収についてでした。
馴染みのある話題だっただけにもっと自分の意見をいっていきたかった。。。

【サマリー】
Today's article say about the news that Sharp accepted the merger by Foxconn, known as Hon Hai in Japan. As you know, financial condition of Sharp is not good recently and it is urgent issue for Sharp. Sharp had been offered merger by a lot of institutions including government -owned company. Sharp finally decided to sell shares to Hon Hai.

今回の講師の方は、日本製品の品質を高く評価している方で、サムスン等の競合企業の製品よりも長持ちする点がよいので、その品質を守っていくために外資ではなく日系の企業に買って欲しかったという意見でした。

私はシャープの財務改善は当然のこと、今後の企業戦略をフラットに議論できる先に買収されるべきであると考えていたので、その意味でしがらみの少ない外資のオファーに応じたことはよい判断であったと考えています。
ということを伝えたかったけどあまりうまくいかなかったなぁ。
ということで復習しよう。

I agree your opinion. But I what I pay attention most is Sharp should corporate with the partner who can discuss their strategy without constraint. In that context, I think it is incredible decision that Sharp accepted the offer from the one who are free of constraint.

Q. What do you think are the advantages and disadvantages of living in an RV?
RVのこととか、考えたことのないテーマに関して利点・欠点を考えるのは瞬発力を鍛えるよい機会になります。
A. At first, in terms of advantages, to live in an RV save money because you don't have to pay mortgage. And second, for disadvantages, live in an RV means you don't have an address, so I think it is difficult to get job because most companies are hesitate to hire the person who don't have an permanent address.

すごい大ドンデン返しがあるわけではないけど（いまシーズン1の6話くらい）
英語の勉強がてら見ています。
英語字幕なのも嬉しい。

さて、本日のレアジョブのテーマはEagles Being Trained to Destroy Dronesでした。
専門用語が少なかったので文章自体は読みやすかったです。

【ディスカッション1】
Q. What are other animals used for security purpose?
本文が鷹をドローン退治に活用している国があるという内容だったのに付随して。
あんまり馴染みはないけど次のように答えました。
A. For example, dog.
In Japan, many people live with dog and the dog can be security because if strangers come near the house, the dog will bark.

回答をする際にbarkという単語を忘れたんですけど、
単語の聞き方がイマイチわからない。
今回は
I want to know the proper word which express a dog say "vow, vow" to the stranger
と聞いてみたものの伝わらず
同じことを何回か言って、
講師の方に空気を読んでもらって"bark"という単語がでてきました。
普段はどうやって聞けばよいのだろう。うーん。

【ディスカッション2】
Q. What are the advantage of animals over technology in terms of ensuring people's safety?
英語で答えるにはなかなか難しいと思った質問です。
A. technology is difficult to control. For example, if we want to destroy an illegal drone using a helicopter, I think it is very difficult to do it. On the other hand, eagles can accomplish it more easily. So I think the advantage of animals is that they can do complex movement.

動物は複雑な動きをできて、機械はそれが難しいということを言いたかった。
もちろん動物ができるのは”複雑な動き”だけで、"複雑な目的"をこなすことは無理だけどね、
ということも言いたかったけど力尽きました。
復習としてメモしておくと以下のように言いたかったわけです。
Of cause animals can do complex movement and they can't accomplish complex purpose.
In that case, technologies have advantage than animals.

あ、あとmonthsの発音を注意されたっけ。
thをなんとか発音しようとしたけど[mons]でいいみたい。

そこで、その日勉強した内容を復習する習慣をつけようと思い、
ブログに綴ることにしました。
いつまで続くかわからないけどがんばります。

英語力の現状等は以下の通り
・TOEIC 815 (2014/7 2016/3に久しぶりに受けましたが結果はまだ)
・仕事で英語は使う機会あるけど、リーディング・ライティングがメイン
・Huluとかポッドキャストで英語を聞く習慣あり
・集中して聞けばBBCニュースも聞けるけど自然に流しているものは意味を理解できない
・簡単な会話は考えずに英語で喋れるけど
・何か意見を言おうとすると日本語で考えてから英訳するので疲れる
・スコアの目標はないけど苦せず英語でコミュニケーションとれるようになりたい

ちなみに、レアジョブではDaily news articleを使っています。
いろいろなテーマの記事があるので重宝しています。

レアジョブを行う頻度は、
基本毎日ですが、仕事が忙しいときはスキップしてしまう日もある。。。
スキップする日を少なくしたいです。。。

さて、前置きはここまでにして、
本日の復習を。

今日の内容は食生活の身長と病気の関係への影響についてです。
専門用語が多くて発音しにくかったけど、
専門用語の発音はいまのところ意味さえなんとなくわかればよいから気にしない。

【サマリー】
This article refers to the possible link between height and the risk of developing certain diseases.
According to this article, height has both advantages and disadvantages for health.
For example, taller people have a higher risk of developing cancer, but have a lower risk of developing a certain diseases.

【ディスカッション1】
Q. What do you think are the advantages and disadvantages of being tall?
A. I don't know the link between height and diseases so much, so what I can image is that, for example, taller people have an advantage for playing basket ball and so on.

【ディスカッション2】
Q. In your opinion, how will the findings of the study affect people's diets worldwide?
A. I think the finding will not affect our diet because , as the article say, there are both the advantages and disadvantages. We can't judge what is effect for us.
