It's as hackneyed as white guys with fake tans playing native Americans in John Wayne movies or blue eyed models in fur parkas pretending they're Eskimos.

It's certainly not the knockabout bloke you like to hang around because he's multidimensional, never predictable and doesn't need to remind you of it.

And, more to the point, if he was going to the Oscars, he'd borrow his dad's best shoes.

Can't really comment on the tendency of Aussie male celebs playing the knockabout in a contrived manner though. Apart from Paul Hogan, Hugh Jackman and that dude from the Kenny movie I had not heard a thing about one of the other blokes you have mentioned in this blog.

Also, this Sam Worthington is a tosser of the highest order if:

a) he reckons $20 shoes from Payless are 'comfortable'

Chicken with eggplant special was excellent , also beef in oyster sauce good too. General Tsao Chicken had a bit too much fried coating for my taste but the sauce was good. Recommendation to try any of the specials that day, they have been the best bet. However one word of caution: cannot recommend the kung pao chicken, it is very bland, not spicy at all. It was full of chopped celery, almost half the plate was full of celery. Also strangely added baby corn and sliced water chestnuts to the mix which I have never found before at another Chinese restaurant serving kung pao chicken. Lastly the chicken comes in big slices so not as easy to eat with the peanuts you end up having to cut the chicken up so that you are just not eating big mouthfuls of peanuts and chopped celery vs. a big bite of chicken. Definitely not a winner, too bad. If you like mustard sauce with your egg rolls, be sure to ask for their in house made mustard sauce, don't use the packets, it's much better. Playing in front of a packed house at Air Canada Centre, a departure from tepid crowds at Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada controlled this game from the first shift. The top line of Max Domi, Reinhart and Anthony Duclair hemmed Denmark in its end and offered a preview of the rest of the night.

Exactly three minutes later, defenceman Joe Hicketts sprung Lazar on a breakaway, and the captain had little trouble finishing to make it 5 0. The result would have been even more lopsided had Canada then cashed in on a full two minutes of a five on three power play.

At 3:08 of the third, Paul skated in and roofed a back hander over Sorensen for Canada sixth goal.
