Lucky' Magazine Officially Shuts Its Doors

Lucky' Magazine Officially Shuts Its Doors

As mentioned in Pret-a-Reporter's "Style Notes" on Wednesday, the former Conde Nast publication Lucky, most recently operating solely online as LuckyShops, has print its final text. The demise began last year when Conde Nast sold Lucky to BeachMint (also facing struggles of its own) in hopes of transitioning it into an e-commerce site where visitors could shop online. The company laid off the bulk of its employees and eventually ceased printing monthly issues. But the most highly publicized event was the departure of then-editor-in-chief Eva Chen, who's now head of fashion partnerships at Instagram.

Lucky launched in 2000 and at its peak had a readership of over 1 million subscribers. The shopping-centric glossy even was named Advertising Age’s Magazine of the Year in 2003. Chen was hired to revive the magazine in 2013, and even Anna Wintour stepped in to give the publication a fresh new look, but it wasn’t enough to stop the swift decline in advertising sales.

According to Fashionista, Lucky Group CEO Josh Berman stated that “the Lucky Group continues to operate,” but its site last was updated on Oct. 30 and its last tweet sent out on Nov. 1. Add to that the reports that a big expected sale that was in the works did not go through and that the publication’s nine employees recently have been let go, and an official statement in the near future would not be a surprise.

Romeo Beckham Stars In The New Burberry Festive Campaign

Romeo Beckham, 13, son of Victoria, 41, and David Beckham, 40, will star in the newest Burberry Festive Campaign and it is everything. He will star in the new ad alongside a bunch of famed British actors, actresses, models, and musicians.

Romeo first made his debut as a model for the Burberry campaign back in 2013, but this latest ad is the most adorable one yet. He stars alongside, Michelle Dockery, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Sir Elton John, James Corden, Julie Walters, Naomi Campbell, James Bay, George Ezra and Toby Huntington-Whiteley. That is a serious crew right there!

He looks so adorable in the photos — jumping in the air wearing a tuxedo with a Burberry scarf draped over him and floating in a Burberry trench and scarf next to two British guards while golden snowflakes fall around him.

The ad debuted today at the flagship store in London and it is amazing! He looks so happy in the photos and it gets us so excited for Christmas! This year’s Burberry Festive Campaign pays homage to the 15th anniversary of Billy Elliot, the British film. Not only does the campaign feature fabulous photos, there is also a three-minute film to go along with them.

This campaign is absolutely everything and Romeo is the cutest little boy we have ever seen!

Jessica Rabbit for Annual Halloween Party

Heidi Klum, the reigning “Queen of Halloween,” dressed up as Jessica Rabbit for her annual Halloween bash at Lavo in NYC on Saturday, Oct. 31.

The Project Runway host made dramatic entrance into her own party, emerging into a spotlight from the dark to reveal her amazing costume, complete with crazy prosthetic breasts, a huge butt and awesome fake eyelids.

Getting totally into character, the model did a performance of Jessica Rabbit’s famous song from Who Framed Rodger Rabbit?, performing the entire musical number in front of her guests and the press.

Klum shared images and videos of her entire transformation via Instagram late on Halloween night, detailing the painstaking process of attaching a prosthetic face, butt and breasts onto her slender form.

Talking to Us Weekly at the party, the mom-of-four revealed the process had taken a very long time!

“10 hours I think!,” the German supermodel said of her prepartation process. “I started at 12 and I literally put my shoes on and got over here and it was what, 10:30?”

The hardest part of her prep? “Holding still,” Klum revealed. “It’s very hard for me to hold still—especially when you have to stand up. When they did the face I could sit, but then when the body was being glued on I had to stand for so many hours and that’s kind of hard,” she added.

Earlier this month, Klum teased her costume via Instagram in strange new photos and videos. “It’s almost time for my favorite holiday!” the blonde beauty wrote, alongside a snap of herself encased in a plaster-like molding with a horn-type of headpiece. “Costume prep time with the team at @prorenfx Can’t wait for Halloween!”

She followed up with numerous additional photos from the fitting session, which included a bucketful of paint covering her head and body. “So yucky but so worth it in the end,” she captioned.

Last year, the German supermodel, 42, was a psychedelic butterfly, completely covering her body with blue and green paint and donning colorful wings, along with antennas.

In previous years, the Project Runway host has gone as an old woman, a gorilla, an over-the-top Cleopatra, a giant apple, a Hindu goddess, and Lady Godiva — complete with a horse!

Last Minute Halloween Costume Ideas & Expert Tip

Halloween has completely snuck up on us and we are officially freaking out. With the holiday coming up this weekend, for those of you who don’t have a costume yet — do not freak out, because we have you covered. Luckily, Chad Horstman, CEO of Yandy, spoke to HollywoodLife exclusively and gave us some amazing tips for this year’s Halloween!

Chad was full of amazing ideas and even better advice.

“Somewhat surprisingly, our Yandy exclusive “What is the Color?” Dress costume is our #1 seller this year. It’s based off of that viral craze a few months back where nobody could agree on what color #TheDress was; blue and black or white and gold? We split the dress down the middle with each color combination and we’ve sold thousands. It’s been a huge hit.”

As for what we can expect to see on everyone this year: “We’ve seen a huge upturn in pop culture inspired costumes this year. It seems our customers want to be relevant, funny and of course, sexy this year. Among our top five selling costumes are The Dress; Cecil the Lion – of which we’re donating 20% of the proceeds, essentially all of our profits, to a wildlife preservation charity; and Donna T. Rumpshaker – a fun twist on a certain mogul turned presidential candidate. Some more traditional looks, like Little Red Riding Hood and our Dark Angel costumes, round out the top five.”

Everyone can relax and stop freaking out now if they don’t have a costume yet because Yandy has it covered. “We always make sure to provide great, last minute shipping options like $8.95 2-day shipping when ordering before 5 pm PST today (Wednesday), or $11.95 overnight delivery when ordering by 5 pm PST tomorrow (Thursday). With Halloween on a Saturday this year, we’re even offering select zip codes Saturday delivery for $19.95 when ordering before 3 pm PST the Friday before Halloween. Some of our customers can’t get around to ordering early for one reason or another, and we need to be there to help them make it work regardless.”

For those of you who want to transform what you have at home into a sexy costume, “It’s really pretty easy because anything goes on Halloween. A lot of people just buy wigs, accessories and costume makeup from our site, knowing there are many ways to showing up looking great on Halloween.”

“Honestly, the least stressful thing is just opening a package with a great ready-to-wear costume inside. People are so busy that searching for every last little detail wears on them. With some costumes as low as $30 and our super fast shipping, picking out your favorite look from our site would be the easiest and least stressful way to go when shopping at the last minute.”

“Just like everyday wear, it’s important to match the right undergarments with a sexy costume. At Yandy we offer both lingerie and costumes so that shoppers can get everything they need in one convenient place. If someone is looking to buy a low cut or strapless costume, for example, we have the perfect bras to accompany that.”

He left us with some amazing advice, “The best tip I can give is to make sure you have fun with it. Halloween is supposed to be fun and we try to exude that with our costumes. Whether you go simple with a fun pair of cat ears and a black long sleeve top or you buy the most deluxe costume on our site and are decked out head to toe, as long as you’re having fun with it, you’ll be the biggest hit at the party.”

The occasion was held in celebration of luxury shoe designer Brian Atwood's new book, Pumped, a study of men in stilettos. (Atwood himself makes an appearance in the book in a pair of his black suede pointy-toe stilettos — size 44.) Part of the proceeds from the book went to support The Trevor Project, a crisis hotline for LGBT youth.

Melissa McCarthy, who's been BFFs with Atwood since high school, hosted the event and welcomed a bevy of Atwood's longtime A-lister friends including Kate Hudson, Kris Jenner, Rachel Zoe, Scout and Tallulah Willis, to name just a few. Top stylists Johnny Wujek and Tara Swennen also made appearances before heading over to Olivier Rousteing's birthday bash. Said Swennen of Atwood's creations: "I know that every time I pull them I'll get a level of unparalleled sexiness that's just amazing. His lasts are classic and his platforms are really wearable and beautiful and architectural."

During the star-studded event, McCarthy and Atwood chatted exclusively with Pret-a-Reporter and revealed how their first encounter involved a motel and a hunt for fabric. Since then, they've developed a decades long friendship that is still going strong (McCarthy even had Atwood as her bridesmen at her wedding).

Cate Blanchett Hop On the Long

Compared to some of her couture ensembles, the outfit the actress donned at the BFI London Film Festival Awards on Saturday was on the simpler side. However, with a sweeping chignon updo and simple makeup, the overall look was refreshing.

Supermodel Kloss, who looks good in pretty much anything she wears, was especially sophisticated in her Victorian-collar black lace gown at last night's Pencils of Promise Gala. A swipe of red lipstick, a braided updo and, of course, a regal two-foot train made the ensemble a timeless classic.

At the Tokyo International Film Festival premiere of Woman in Gold, Mirren was as stunning as ever in a white floral Badgley Mischka gown with sheer sleeves featuring beaded floral appliques. Her hemline trailed from an asymmetrical satin ruffle, making for a picturesque ensemble. The only thing missing from the look was a tiara — because, let's face it, Mirren is a queen.

Secret To Combat Swollen Pores & Lack Of Sleep

Debra Messing’s Easy Beauty Secret To Combat Swollen Pores & Lack Of Sleep

HollywoodLife had the pleasure of chatting with the lovely Debra Messing, 47, about everything from Will & Grace, her beauty secrets, and how she deals with her horrible allergies. We can all take a page out of Debra’s beauty book, considering she is stunning, don’t you agree?

In case you didn’t know, Debra has outrageous allergies. For years, allergies have ruined her life until she started taking Zyrtec which made everything better. “I grew up in New England on 3 & ½ acres of grass and I lived next to farms and it was beautiful and I was miserable. I literally had to be sent home from camp early because of my allergies,” she said. How sad is that?! Luckily, “I tried Zyrtec and I literally felt like I was liberated. I don’t have to think about it or worry, I don’t have to worry about it ruining a take at work or making me feel insecure on the red carpet,” she continued.

Obviously, having allergies can screw with your beauty routine, but she has obviously mastered that skill. You would never know she has such a hard time, considering how stunning she always looks — we needed to know her secrets. First of all, when we caught up with her she looked fabulous with a golden eyeshadow on, which was Tom Ford. “All of his pigments are amazing. If I could, I would have every palette that they make,” she gushed.

She dished about an unusual beauty ritual, and we are seriously going to try it ASAP. “When I’m shooting or working 12 hour days, every single day, by month 9, my face is on the floor and there’s nothing you can do. So, what my makeup artist would do for me every morning, she would come in with a big bowl of water and ice and she would put in aloe juice and basically she would dunk the freezing cold washcloths and have me press it to my face 6 times and it shrinks any swelling that you have, whether it be from allergies or a lack of sleep and it makes a difference.”

That’s not all — “I try and drink an enormous amount of water because I really do see the difference with my skin and just my health in general. If I’m really diligent, I’ll have warm water with lemon first thing when I wake up because that’s supposed to be the best for you. Generally, I’ll just drink room temperature water and lots of green tea.”

Also, for all of you fans out there, I will leave you with this: “I’m game for a Will & Grace reboot, I never say never.”

JWoww Is Married

News can confirm.

"By far one of the best days of our lives outside Meilani being born," the couple said in a statement to E! News. "So blessed to have our daughter share this day with us!"

Jersey Shore co-stars Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola and Deena Nicole Cortese were bridesmaids in the ceremony, as was JWoww's longtime pal Joei D Fox, while JWoww and Roger's 15-month-old daughter, Meilani, made for an adorable flower girl. Former Bachelorette stars Ryan and Trista Sutter were also in attendance.

The bride wore a custom dress by Stephen Yearick and, while she wanted to keep the specific details under wraps before her big day, she divulged in a blog post that it would be "like the super-princess-glamour one that I would never be able to walk around in for hours."

Then it was going to be into something "fun and light" to dance the night away at the reception.

Meilani's dress "will be very similar to mine," she dished this summer. "Similar fabric, only the basic kind of square-cut baby girl dress with a little bow around it."

On Saturday night, the couple enjoyed a rehearsal dinner with their "nearest and dearest" friends. It was another occasion that reminded JWoww that Roger was the one.

"Roger is my perfect man in every way and he is the best daddy to Meilani that I could ever ever ask for," she wrote on her website this weekend. "He accepts me in every way and I am more in love with him than ever!"

Roger popped the question in October 2012 after about two years of dating, so the lovebirds have enjoyed a long engagement. They celebrated their five-year anniversary as a couple a few months ago, with JWoww posting their first-ever pic together with the telling hashtags "#iamorange #youarehot #karma #season3 #Jerseyshore."

Ah, the Shore. How far JWoww and Roger have come in the romance department!

Their meet-cute was chronicled on season three of The Jersey Shore, and subsequent episodes saw Roger staying true to JWoww when the roomies went to Italy. Overall, despite some liquor-fueled fights, these two were at least quite devoted to each other from the start.

Responding to Snooki's signature ribbing about her pal acting like a real Bridezilla lately, JWoww wrote a few days ago, "I think I'm staying as relaxed as I can be with the wedding just four nights away!! I think other brides would be freaking out way more than I am, just saying lol! Everything is coming together and now I am at the point where I am just excited to have the day come so I can celebrate it with all my family and friends."

And that day has come! Congratulations to the newlyweds!

Balmain X H&M Collection Unveiled

It is the moment we’ve all been waiting for! The H&M X Balmain collaboration has finally been unveiled and it has seriously exceeded our expectations. The new clothing line is so stunning and so similar to the brand’s runway looks that we’re so used to seeing on a slew of stylish stars. Between the stunning looks to the major campaign, starring Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid, we honestly can’t wait. What do you guys think of the new collab — are you excited?

Olivier Rousteing, 29-year-old creative director of Balmain, dished to Vogue about what this new collection is all about. “The craftsmanship was really important to me in the Balmain x H&M collection. If you collaborate with Balmain, you have to know that there can never be any compromise, and that’s something that H&M understood so well. They really pushed themselves to make it happen, to get that feeling of exclusivity and uniqueness. Embellishment has been part of my work at Balmain from the beginning. The allover beaded dress comes from my very first Balmain collection, so it’s like I’m literally giving to H&M the beginning of my story. There’s something emotional for me about how this dress was born, and now through H&M I’m giving it to the world.”

The new collection features all of the things we love about the high-fashion house. From intricate beading to beautiful embroidery, these skin-tight pieces and high sleeve looks are to-die-for.

We cannot wait to get our hands on one of these pieces when they hit stores on November 5 — be sure to mark your calendars if you want to take home a gorgeous piece of the collaboration!

How To Get Your Makeup To Stay Put All Day

Whether on the red carpet or forcing her cat Meredith to take selfies with her for Instagram, Taylor Swift‘s makeup is always photo ready. We put together some of our favorite priming and finishing products to help keep your makeup in place, even if you don’t have a whole team of makeup artists at your disposal like Taylor.

Prep: Before you even reach for your foundation, start by applying a primer to your face, like Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer. Not only will it give your makeup something to adhere to, but it also helps minimize the appearance of fine lines and pores.

Not only should you be using a primer for your face, but it’s important to use one like Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer on your eyelids, too, to keep your eyeshadow and liner from creasing or smudging. If you love a bold lip like Taylor, you can keep your lipstick from bleeding or fading by lining and filling your lips with a pencil first. For Taylor’s classic red shade, try MAC Lip Pencil in Trust In Red.

Keep Your Makeup In Place All Day

Finish: Once your base makeup has been applied (and before any blush or highlighter), use a finishing powder like Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder to help prevent oil and give your foundation a more flawless finish. Now here comes the most important (and final!) step: Mist your face with a powerful makeup setting spray like Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray, which will keep your makeup from melting, cracking or fading for 16 hours.
